Chapter 80: Aether Paradise Rescue (Part 4)

The Equestria Crew, along with Lillie and Gladion had passed through the warp panel, leading to Lusamine's inner chambers, which, much like the rest of the castle, was completely red and black. On Lusamine's main computer console, they saw the Rainbow Rocket emblem. In front of it, however, was Lusamine, laying on the ground, looking like she was just put through the mill. They also saw the grunts with the device, standing before a well dressed man, who was none other than Giovanni, "I was wondering when you all would show up," he said.

"Giovanni... you're still kicking after all this time?" Will questioned.

"Ah, Will. And I can see you're still as much of a thorn in my side like always," Giovanni frowned.

"Another guy you know?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Yeah. This is the monster behind Team Rocket, and the former Gym Leader of the Viridian City Gym, the Ground Type expert, Giovanni," Will replied.

"It would appear that my associates were all bested by you and your friends. Then again, whenever you're involved, all my plans seem to go up in smoke," Giovanni stated, sounding less than pleased.

"What have you done to our mother?!" Gladion yelled.

"Ah yes. The President originally made a deal with us to help find her lost husband. In exchange, she would help us to go to Ultra Space to capture the Ultra Beasts and make an army of the strongest Pokemon ever seen. But she tried to back out of the deal, saying you have another way of doing so. What she failed to understand is that once a deal has been made with us, Team Rainbow Rocket always gets what it's promised, one way, or another," Giovanni said, his eyes filled with coldness.

"I should've known you would be the organization Lusamine talked about," Will commented, his eyes filed with contempt.

"Well, thanks to Faba, we have the means to go to Ultra Space, so we have no need for Lusamine anymore," Giovannie said.

"Get the device activated!" Faba ordered the grunts.

"Yes sir!" the grunts said, as they turned on the machine.

"We won't let you get away with this!" Will said.

"Hmm, I suppose it would be prudent to hold you interlopers off while the device warms up," Giovanni said, as he tossed five Dark Balls. From them, he released a Kantonian Dugtrio, a Kangaskhan, a Nidoking, a Rhyperior, and a Nidoqueen, all under the evil influence of the Dark Ball.

"We need to destroy the machine! If he can't get through to Ultra Space, we can put a stop to his plans!" Silver Spoon exclaimed.

"Alrighty then, we'll need speed for this!" Nathan said, sending out Ninjask. The others all sent out their Pokemon as well.

"Most of us will focus on keeping Giovanni's Pokemon at bay! Nathan, you led the others and their Flying Pokemon to destroy the device!" Will whispered to Nathan.

"Got it!" Nathan replied.

"I will see to it that your plan will never come to pass! Focus your attacks on all the Flying Pokemon! Use Rock Slide!" Giovanni ordered his Pokemon. His Pokemon all launched Rock Slide attacks, one after another, in the hopes of striking at least one of the Flying Pokemon. Thankfully, Ninjask was able to evade the attacks, along with the others, "Rhyperior, use Rock Polish, then use Rock Wrecker!" sparks flew off of Rhyperior, before it launched a large boulder at Ninjask.

"Hariyama, use Brick Break!" Will instructed. Hariyama then smashed apart the Rock Wrecker, sending the broken rocks back at Giovanni's Pokemon.

"Nidoking, use Toxic!" Giovanni ordered. Nidoking fired off Toxic, which badly poisoned Hariyama, and several of the other Pokemon, "And now Nidoqueen, Venoshock!" Nidoqueen then fired off Venoshock, which was able to more damage and knock out the poisoned Pokemon. The Pokemon were quickly recalled.

"Metagross, use Psychic! Strike both of them!" Toby instructed. Metagross then unleashed Psychic on both Nidoqueen and Nidoking.

"They may have an edge over Metagross, being Ground Types, but Poison Types are still weak to Psychic Type moves!" Will commented.

"Kangaskhan, use Fire Punch! Deal with that Metagross!" Giovanni ordered. Kangaskhan then charged straight at Metagross, using Fire Punch on the Iron Leg Pokemon.

"Metagross, return!" Toby exclaimed, recalling Metagross, "Go, Noivern!" Toby said, sending out Noivern, "Noivern, circle around, and use Boomburst!" Noivern flew around the room, along with Ninjask. Noivern then fired off Boomburst, striking Giovanni's Pokemon, while Ninjask used the opportunity to get in close to the device, and was getting ready to use Fury Cutter, when....

"Get away from there, you bothersome pest!" Faba exclaimed, smacking Ninjask away with a satchel. Nidoking then used Poison Jab, and sent Ninjask skidding across the floor.

"Ninjask! Are ya ok?!" Nathan exclaimed, holding his Pokemon, only for it to pass out, "Ya did great, take a rest," Nathan said, recalling his Pokemon, "Alrighty then, Hawlucha, c'mon out!" he exclaimed, sending out his Hawlucha, "Alright Hawlucha, use Karate Chop on Rhyperior!" Nathan instructed. Hawlucha charged in and delivered a powerful Karate Chop, which sent Rhyperior skidding back, before leaping out of the way of Nidoqueen's Poison Jab.

"Can't you guys use a Z Move or something?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"We're saving our Z Moves for Giovanni's final Pokemon. Something tells me we're going to need it," Will replied, as his Crawdaunt was assisting Twilight's Kingler and Fluttershy's Primarina with battling Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Rhyperior, "Crawdaunt, use Bubblebeam!" Will instructed. Crawdaunt then blasted Nidoking in the face with Bubblebeam.

"Kingler, use Crabhammer!" Twilight instructed. Kingler swung it's larger pincer into Rhyperior. With the constant attacks it was receiving, Rhyperior fell to defeat.

"Great! We need to keep pushing them back!" Toby exclaimed, as Noivern attempted to swoop down at the device again.

"Kangaskhan, use Ice Punch! Stop Noivern!" Giovanni ordered. Using Ice Punch, Kangaskhan was able to knock out Noivern. Toby quickly recalled Noivern.

"The device is already at 90% and counting!" one of the grunts exclaimed.

"We're running out of time! There has to be something we can do!" Rarity exclaimed.

"I hope the others are faring better than us," Fluttershy commented.

---

Outside,

"Snag Ball, go!" Lincoln yelled, throwing a Snag Ball at a Crobat, and caught it. Once it clicked, it teleported into the storage jar.

"How are you still handling, bro?" Luna Loud asked.

"I just dropped below 150 Ultra Balls," Lincoln replied.

"Haven't the others finished their plan yet?!" Lynn Jr. exclaimed.

"We might still have a chance to keep them pushed back. Their forces have dwindled exponentially. We just need to keep them from advancing any further," Lisa replied.

"In that case, it's time to form a blockade! Anyone who can use Water and Ice Type moves, use them to form a wall of ice!" Lincoln exclaimed. Leni, Luan, Lynn Jr., Lola, Mako, Amy, Nico, Captain Lana all used a combination of Hydro Pump and Ice Beam to form a massive blockade of ice.

"Like this will stop us! Arcanine, use Overheat!" one of the Grunts ordered. An Arcanine they had unleashed a very powerful blast of fire, that seemed to damage the blockade.

"Everyone, keep using Water and Ice Attacks! We need to keep this blockade up as long as possible! We need to regroup and make a new plan!" Nico exclaimed. The Water and Ice Pokemon continued using their attacks to fortify the blockade.

"Lincoln, isn't there any Pokemon you snagged that can help us out?" Lori asked.

"Well, I do still have the Legendary Pokemon. We'll have them as a last line of defense," Lincoln stated, as he recalled Toxapex, and swapped it out with Suicune. He then released all six Legendary Pokemon, who were all freed from the power of the Dark Ball. As soon as he did, his sister's Houndour, Frillish, Sandile, and Elgyem began to evolve. Houndour became a Houndoom, Sandile became a larger, bipedal crocodile Pokemon, Frillish became a large, puffy looking jellyfish Pokemon, and Elgyem turned into a brown colored alien Pokemon.

"Our Pokemon all evolved!" Lola exclaimed.

"They're now Houndoom, Krokorok, Jellicent, and Beheeyem," Nico commented.

"We can ask Will and the others for details later. Our priority is stopping the Rainbow Rockets," Luna Loud commented, as their enemies continued to pound away at the blockade.

Back at the Aqua/Magma base,

"Do you think they're all ok?" Girl Jordan asked, as she, the rest of Lincoln's friends, and his aunts and uncles all looked out at the Aether Paradise, seeing smoke billowing up from it. The Beings of Harmony were also there with them. Close by, in a jail cell was Lynn Sr. and Rita.

"Don't worry. If I know my buddy, they're all hanging in there," Clyde replied.

"Yeah... besides, Lincoln has taken on a lot of powerful opponents before," Rusty added.

"Keep in mind, Rusty, those were just Duel Monsters matches. This is a REAL war, with REAL Monsters," Zach replied.

"That's right. But they have strength in numbers, plus Toby and Busujima are back in the battle," Ronnie Anne added.

"We just need to have faith in him, his sisters, and all their friends they made in Alola," Ross commented, holding Lily, who looked out at the ocean, just as worried as her aunts and uncles.

"How can you sit there and talk about this so casually?! You let OUR kids go off to fight in some war that isn't even any concern to any of us!" Rita yelled at her siblings.

"We just have to have faith in them. They're not alone in this fight," Rhonda replied.

"That's right. Not only do they have their friends from Alola, but they have Pokemon of their own," Randy added.

"I won't allow any of them to keep their Pokemon! If they're anything like that awful Duel Monsters game, then I can't live with them in MY house!" Lynn Sr. declared.

"Especially not Lincoln. He's too irresponsible!" Rita added.

"He was responsible enough to bring your family troubles to justice, and get his sisters reformed. That has to count for something," Rachel stated.

"Not one little bit! His sisters said they like the way things were before the trial, and that's how we're going to put things back," Lynn Sr. vowed.

"You just don't get it, do you? This is the whole reason you two were stripped of custody over your kids, because you let them behave like spoiled brats because you're both too lazy to discipline any of them!" Ross yelled.

"And they would often use their brother as a scapegoat to avoid any trouble," Randy added.

"Well, they all say the same thing, so it has to be true! What more can we do?!" Lynn Sr. questioned.

"Try being more reasonable and responsible, for one thing!" Ross snapped, as their attention turned back to the Aether Paradise.

Back in the fight against Giovanni,

"Garchomp, use Dragon Rush!" Will instructed. Garchomp was surrounded by cyan energy, as it slammed into Kangaskhan, knocking out the last of Giovanni's Pokemon.

"Hmm, quite impressive. It took most of your teams, but you managed to best five of my strongest Pokemon," Giovanni commented.

"Just surrender already, Giovanni! Your plan is going to be what destroys you!" Will exclaimed.

"Why do that? After all, the Dark Ball can catch any Pokemon without any problem. My forces can all catch the Ultra Beasts, and truly rule the world!" Giovanni exclaimed. as he readied his last Dark Ball, "Now you face the most powerful Pokemon, not only in Team Rainbow Rocket, but all of the world! Now, Mewtwo, come forth!" he said, releasing a Mewtwo, under the influence of the Dark Ball.

"Mewtwo! We'll need to get serious now," Will commented.

"Greninja, let's do this!" Josh said, sending out a ninja frog. Upon being sent out, a tornado surrounded Greninja, as Josh could feel his heart synch up with Greninja's. Greninja now had a large Water Shuriken on it's back.

"Houndoom, we need your help too!" Nathan exclaimed, sending out a Houndoom, "And for good measure," Nathan said, as he tapped a pendant he had around his neck, which contained a Key Stone. It resonated with a Mega Stone that Houndoom was holding, as it began to Mega Evolve. It now had larger horns, and had a much more sinister look to it.

"They got the right idea! Incineroar, let's go!" Toby said, sending out Incineroar.

"Hmm, using Dark Type Pokemon against my Psychic Type Mewtwo is a good strategy, but I have an ace up my sleeve," Giovanni said, as he pulled out a Key Stone.

"Mega Evolution?!" Applejack exclaimed.

"Right you are. And with the maxed out power the Dark Ball gives, Mewtwo will be even stronger when it Mega Evolves!" Giovanni laughed maniacally, as he tapped the Key Stone, now Mewtwo, I command you, Mega Evolve, and eliminate these pests!" Giovanni exclaimed, as the Mewtwonite X Mewtwo was holding began to resonate with the Key Stone. When it Mega Evolved, Mewtwo had the build of a fighter, "Now, Aura Sphere, rapid fire!" he ordered. Mewtwo began firing a barrage of Aura Spheres, which struck, and knocked out all the Pokemon.

"No way! It's that powerful!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, as they quickly recalled their Pokemon.

"Master Giovanni! The device is fully charged!" Faba said, as the device looked ready to activate.

"Excellent. Now we can move on to the Ultra Wormhole. Open it up," Giovanni ordered. Faba was about to when an explosion blasted through the ceiling, and the Guardians of Alola all descended. None of them looked happy. In fact, they all looked extremely angry.
