Chapter 72: The Interrupted Finals?! Team Rainbow Rocket makes it's move!

At dinner,

"Alright guys, eat up! You were great today!" Toby said, as he gave his Pokemon big bowls of Pokemon food, along with some Pokebeans.

"So Toby, what's your strategy against Busujima going to be?" Mike asked.

"Haven't fully decided. I know Tsareena and Incineroar are definite musts, since Busujima abandoned them back when we were traveling through Melemele Island," Toby replied.

"So you want to show Busujima that you've helped them grow strong," Josh commented.

"Precisely," Toby replied.

"Ok. But what about the rest of your team?" Nathan asked.

"Hmm. Maybe Metagross, since it has really good attack and defense, and Noivern for mobility. As for my last two Pokemon...... maybe Lycanroc and Gardevoir," Toby replied.

"Sounds like you got a plan," Lincoln commented.

"Now you need to figure out a counter measure for Poison status," Twilight commented.

"Right. Busujima based his strategy around Poisoning his opponents, and whittling their stamina down," Silver Spoon replied. Across the way, Lynn was keeping her distance from the others. She had become convinced that Toby somehow jinxed Will's match against Busujima, and reverted back to being overly superstitious.

"It's the only explanation I can think off, besides having strong Pokemon. There's no possible way Will could ever be beaten by that jerk," Lynn scowled. Just then, Rachel and the other adults approached Lincoln.

"Well Lincoln, are you ready?" she asked her nephew. Honestly, Lincoln was uncertain his parents would agree to his demands. He thought they would see them as unreasonable, and refuse right off the bat. But he decided that despite being complete idiots, his parents should be allowed to have some kind of role in both Lincoln's and his sister's lives.

"Alright. Let's get this over with," Lincoln grumbled, as he and his Aunts and Uncles left the group.

"Lets hope our parental units don't put their feet in their mouths again," Lisa commented.

"That sounds totes gross," Leni commented, disgusted at the thought of that.

"No, Leni. What Lisa means is that she hopes things between Mom and Dad don't go bad as they did when Lincoln and them were together last time, remember?" Lori asked.

"Oh yeah," Leni replied.

"Well, all we can do now is wait and hope for the best," Lucy commented.

In the Stadium Prison,

Both Lincoln and Rachel were seated in front of the Loud Parents, who were still in their jail cell, "Alright, so you know why I'm here, right?" Lincoln asked, a tone of distrust evident in his voice.

"Yes. We're ready to hear your demands," Rita replied.

"Alright. First off, you two are NOT to decide things are true just because my sisters all stand against me. In other words, no more "if your sisters say the same thing, then it must be true' schtick," Lincoln began.

"Alright," Lynn Sr. replied, remembering the last time he enforced that philosophy.

"Second, my sisters must all be punished equally as you guys would punish me. Absolutely no special treatment for any of them," Lincoln continued.

"Ok," Rita replied.

"Third, the two of you are to step in and try to resolve any and all fights between me and my sisters, so that both sides can be happy," Lincoln continued. The parents nodded, remembering the Sister Fight Protocol incident, "And fourth, if any of us wants to sit out an activity that our siblings have planned, then everyone is t respect that decision. In other words, if someone doesn't want to go to a certain activity, then they don't have to. After all, that's how this mess started in the first place," he added.

"Alright. That all sounds reasonable," Rita replied.

"Good. Now then, we're going to let you both out of the cell now so you can watch the finals of the Pokemon League. It's pitting Lincoln's new friend, Toby, against that Busujima kid we told you about," Ross said, as he opened the cell door, allowing the parents to walk out. Rita opened out her arms, indicating she wanted a hug from her son.

"Eh, I don't think we're quite there yet on being on good terms," Lincoln said, leaning back. He still doesn't quite trust his parents yet, but is going to give them one last chance.

"Well, in any case, why don't we go get some dinner?" Randy suggested, trying to break the tension.

"That sounds great, but we don't have any money they would take," Lynn Sr. retorted.

"Not to worry. Our friends have been gracious enough to treat us to our meals," Rhonda replied.

"Well, if they don't mind buying," Rita said, as they all left the jail.

The next day,

The stands were filling up fast, as the Finals were going to start very soon, "So, has Toby finalized his strategy for battling against Busujima?" Lincoln asked.

"We believe so. He's mostly going to stick with long ranged attacks, while minimizing close quarters action," Will replied.

"Makes sense. And hopefully he has defensive strategies planned for Toxic and other moves like that," Lisa commented.

Meanwhile, in Toby's Locker Room,

Toby was giving his Pokemon a pep talk before heading out, "Alright guys, Busujima is going to be our most difficult opponent yet. From what I've seen of all his previous battles, he relies solely on brute force, and inflicting status ailments. But we have nothing to worry about. He only sees Pokemon as tools of battle, and hardly respects his Pokemon. We're nothing like that. We're a family, and we have faith in one another," Toby said. All his Pokemon all gave sounds of their approval, with Incineroar and Tsareena being the loudest of the bunch, "Alright, now lets get out there and show him what we're made of!" Toby said, as he began recalling his team, leaving Tsareena and Incineroar out last, "We'll show him how much stronger you guys are since Melemele Island," Toby said, as he recalled the two of them. He then exited the locker room, and made his way to the arena. However, he was stopped when a group of adults in trench coats boxed him in, "Um, can I help you with something?" Toby asked.

"I'm glad you asked. We are in need of your help. That Busujima kid too," one of the adults said.

"You see, we work for a powerful organization. Very powerful indeed," another added.

"Ok?" Toby asked cautiously.

"To put it simply, you and Busujima are very talented trainers, with very powerful Pokemon. We have need of such trainers," the first adult said.

"I'll consider it. But right now, I have a battle to get to," Toby said, as he tried to pass through, only to be stopped.

"I'm afraid there will be no need for such a trivial competition, and that we insist on you joining us, one way, or another," the first adult said, as he pulled out a Dark Ball.

"What's that thing?!" Toby exclaimed.

"A Dark Ball, a powerful tool you'll soon be acquainted with," the adult replied, as he tossed. When it opened, Toby noticed that the energy that was released was pitch black and purple instead of blue and white. When the energy materialized, it formed into a Hypno, but Toby also noticed that this Hypno was a much darker yellow, and it's eyes looked like they were glazed over, like Hypno was being forcibly controlled, "Use Hypnosis," he ordered. Hypno began swinging it's pendulum, releasing a a wave of Psychic energy. Toby tried to look away, but the other adults pulled out fairly large mirrors, which reflected Hypnosis. Toby was unable to fight the sudden wave of sleepiness, as he fell to the ground.

"Hmm, that was easier than I expected," one of the other adults said, as they all took off their trench coats, revealing that they were all from Team Rainbow Rocket, "Now let's get this kid back to base. The boss has big plans for him and that other brat," the Team Rocket grunt said, as he picked up Toby, and slung him over his shoulder. He then recalled Hypno, and they all escaped. They made their way to the lower dock, where another squad of grunts came in, with Busujima in their captivity, "Any trouble getting him to cooperate?" the Rocket grunt asked.

"A little bit. He put up quite a fight, but Vileplume's Sleep Powder made him more agreeable," a Plasma grunt replied, as they boarded their boat. They placed both boys in separate cells in the brig, and took their Pokeballs.

"The rest of our forces should be mobilizing to take over the stadium by now. We need to get out of here, fast," a Galactic grunt recommended.

"Good idea. They have Pokemon that can use Teleport, so there's no need to wait for them," the Rocket Grunt said, as they took off for their base.

Back in the Arena,

Much confusion began circulating among the stands, as the match was supposed to start ten minutes ago, but neither Toby nor Busujima have showed up, "This is strange. Both of them should've gotten here by now," Will commented.

"I hope nothing bad happened," Fluttershy commented, as she began to worry about Toby.

"Uh, there seems to be a slight delay with both competitors. Security is heading over to.... Hey, who are you guys?!" the sounds of struggling followed, as an image of a multi colored "R" appeared on the jumbotron.

"Attention, everyone. We have a very important announcement. We of Team Rainbow Rocket have captured the two finalists. We are now assuming control of the Alola Region, as well as the entire world. We will be taking all of your personal possessions, including your Pokemon. Any attempts to resist will result in swift and merciless punishment," a different voice said, as explosions erupted from around the arena. The Grunts from the four Teams that make up Team Rainbow Rocket were leading their Pokemon to attack. Everyone in the stands started running out of the stands, trying to get to the boats.

"'Team Rainbow Rocket'?! Is this some kind of joke?!" Will exclaimed.

"I don't know, but what I do know is that we have to do something!" Silver Spoon said, releasing Azumarill.

"Hey you!" a Galactic Grunt yelled, "Relinquish ALL of your Pokemon to us, or else!" he threatened, as he released an Aggron and a Rhyperior from the Dark Balls in his possession.

"Not happening!" Will said, sending out Hariyama, "Flora, get Serenity and the Louds out of here! We'll cover you!" Will exclaimed.

"R-right," Fluttershy said, as she and the others ran out of the stands. They arrived at the main hall, where the Grunts were all battling Hau, Guzma, Plumeria, the Trial Captains, the Kahunas, the rest of the Bandit Star Pirates, and the friends from Equestria, who were all battling desperately to fend them off, while the others escaped, "Oh dear. Primarina, we need help them!" Fluttershy said, sending out Primarina, "Use Disarming Voice!" Primarina fired off Disarming Voice, which was able to push back all of Team Rainbow Rocket's corrupted Pokemon.

"Hey, thanks for the assist!" Hau called out.

"Thank her later! We need to get out of here!" Davis exclaimed.

"I couldn't agree more! Garchomp, use Sandstorm!" Cynthia's voice called out, as she and the other champions joined up with the group. Her Garchomp then summoned a powerful sandstorm that created cover for the others to sneak away to the docks, where the civilians were all boarding the ships in a desperate bid to get out of there.

"There may not be enough ships to get US out too," Ross commented. Soon, both Will and Silver Spoon joined up with them.

"There's gotta be something we can do!" Guzma commented, looking around for any solution. Just then, in a flash of light, Colress appeared from a portal.

"Come with me if you want to stop Team Rainbow Rocket," he said, his tone ever so serious. The large group was uncertain, but at this point, what choice did they have? One by one, they all entered the portal, with Colress being last. As he entered the portal, in closed behind him, as the last ship left the dock.
