Oskar's secret has been revealed to Twilight in totality, now Twilight faces the moral quandary of betraying her friend or betraying her morals. The events of season 2 are fast approaching as well and the ripples Oskar has caused through his mere presences alone changes more and more. Can a friendship survive when one of the friends is a murderer?

After Spike and Twilight hold a heated argument between each other, Spike is uninvited to Twilight's Birthday Party. With an almost immaculate friendship between the two on the brink of destruction, how will Spike cope with his choices, how will he make up for it, and how does Twilight and her friends think about the argument she delved into?

(This story takes place during and after the events of Sweet and Elite.)

Twilight Sparkle is called upon to negotiate trade arrangements with the griffons. Of course, all her friends join her for what should be a casual pleasure cruise in the airship Canvas Streak. After all, this is her first REAL test as a princess, and why shouldn't they support her?

Late one night, though, Applejack feels restless and goes up on deck to watch the stars. She considers her life. She considers her family. She considers her friends. She considers the freak storm approaching from the south.

In retrospect, it might have been better to let the crew handle that and head back below deck.

Now alone on a small island, Applejack must survive and wait for her friends to come pick her up... even though the freak storm is blocking them off. Surviving's easy. Waiting's easy too! She can do this.

....she can do this....

Originally a letter written by a retired Celestia talking about her adjustment to living life as her former protege. It has since grown into a regular story exploring the changing roles of everypony in the new lives they lead.
