When Spike and Twilight get into a fight with one another and Spike storms out, the town goes on a search party looking for the baby dragon. After days and no sign of Spike, Rainbow returns with an injury that could only have been inflicted by none other than Spike.

Realizing the futility in Twilight or her friends reasoning with Spike, Sombra takes it upon himself to find out why Spike was so upset in the first place.

Sombra could never have been prepared for the answer Spike was going to give him.

Side story to my multi-chapter SombraPie fic. SombraPie is included in this story, but to a minimal amount.

Courtesy of RainbowBob, from his fic "Feeling PInkie Mean".

I think you drew inspiration from Ryuga from Beyblade Metal Fight for Sombra's character.

"I second that hug!"
Best lIne ever.
Also sombra 'loft' his footing should be 'lost'. (It's near the end)
Great story one of the best Interpretations of sombrero ever. The ship too. Keep up the good work!

Fixed~ And thank you for the compliment!

I wonder what Sombra saw in the door?:rainbowhuh:
This didn't feel like 11,000+ words (I mean that in a good way).
Another good story little mare, your getting good at this whole words on paper thing.
Can't wait to see what's next.:pinkiehappy:

Sombra just admit you love them all!

4241322
Well, he loves Pinkie, so...
(I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP)

"It's going down!" Pinkie exclaimed, "I'm yelling timberrrrrrr!"

Pinkie, don't. Just don't.

Excellent story, though I'm not totally sure about Sombra's characterization. It could be that this is connected to another story series, but I'm not sure if he'd actually be this friendly just years after attempting to take over a whole kingdom and reducing its citizens to cattle. But oh well, I can dig this. I like stories involving Spike's left-out issues. It's a goldmine that never really goes empty.

This was all sorts of awesome, eh. Faved and upvoted, eh.

Also, your writing is awesomely improving, eh. :pinkiehappy:

I remember reading that fic. This one also reminds me of a "story" I made, though mine was a lot more TV-Y than this.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
:yay:...um it was good :)

The last two scenes ruined this whole thing. Spike gets unhappy from being treated like a slave, and being insulted too. But he doesn't really care about that, he only cares about Twilight maybe not needing him. So, he apologizes to her for overreacting when she treats him like crap. And there's no indication that Twilight is going to treat him any differently, since he's the one who admitted fault for "overreacting" to her now. Problems don't go away because you apologize for them, you have to actually take effort to change them...

It's like... he seems angry about being treated like just her assistant, but then his self-esteem is entirely wrapped up in being her assistant. So Spike doesn't need to be her friend, just her assistant? Even if she treats him like crap it's okay as long as she "needs" him? That's what I got from this ending.

4242592
Perhaps I could write an epilogue to wrap up the story better?

4242616
That would probably help, yeah... I mean it's not like any of it's out of character for anyone. Spike (and everyone else) has always been sorta singularly focused on him being her assistant, and at the end it could be that he's just so happy that he's back and Twilight cares about him that he wouldn't demand an apology and him running away (and especially burning Rainbow Dash) WAS overreacting, just not him yelling at her.

But the mix of all of those just adds up to a situation where it seems like his grievance at the beginning wasn't important. And while them still being happy with each other IS important, if she continued forward with no changes, then he's not going to be happy in the long run. So yes, some "how it moves forward" would probably clear that up.

That last part that everyone laughs at

"It's going down!" Pinkie exclaimed, "I'm yelling timberrrrrrr!"

4242805
A good fic involving Pinkie, whether she be a main or side character, MUST have an obligatory fourth wall break!

I enjoyed the writing style and the interesting spin you put on Sombra's character  Great story!

Haven't read a Sombra fic in a while. Good on ya.

The premise and build up were great, but the way you solved the issue at the end was very forced and sudden. The way Spike suddenly changed what he thought of Twilight could have been done in a longer and more detailed way. This is what I got from it:

Spike: "Twi abused me for years, doesn't invite me for anything fun and she even knows my biggest feear, yet she treats me like garbage. I can't stand it anymore."

Sombra: "She loves you and needs you.

Spike: " OMG! How could I be so shelfish?"

4243852
I have GOT to get to work on that epilogue...

This fic is COMPLETELY awesome :pinkiehappy:

"It's going down!" Pinkie exclaimed, "I'm yelling timberrrrrrr!"

lol pinkie

4244766 It was just a dramatization from what I got from the resolution of the problem. It just felt a bit rushed. That's all.

4243852

Yeah, I agree with your comment.
In all fairness, it's a huge flaw of "A true, true friend?" as well.

It was a nice story, but why was Sombra afraid of being in the forest? He's supposedly fear itself after all.

Well, they'll be needing more than just regular fire to get rid of those bed sheets, eh. :trollestia::heart:

Alt End: he explodes as soon as they all hug him.

I do believe this calls for a tactical nuclear strike upon Twilight's bed. Courtesy of Luna.

That was fun and touching. May start to give Sombra fics a read.

As long as there comedy and Sombra is with Pinkie that is.:pinkiehappy:

This was a nice way to wrap this story up. Though part of me did want to read the scene when Rainbow found Spike.:moustache::rainbowderp:

But that just me!:twilightsheepish:
Can really feel the love in this chapter!

Dat ending.

Simpply perfect :pinkiehappy:

What the heck did Sombra see in the door? :rainbowhuh:

"he cooed, putting his claws to his cheeks in fake adoration, "You're such a sweetheart!"" - I've imagined that. Diabetes...

I'm always vaguely disappointed when I get to the end of these and Spike apologizes. I always want it to happen somehow like this.
:twilightblush: Spike I'm really sorry now do you have something to say to me too?
:moustache: Yea go fuck yourself you bitch you think I'm going to accept sorry for years of abuse well think again *flips her off and leaves*
just my personal little fantasy
because Twilight is honestly awful to Spike almost all the time

Story was not bad I thought. It was entertaining. I'd like to see a link to the story this is based off though, so I could read that and get some more context.
