Everything is looking good for their usual guy time fun, but when three fillies they've known for years as the Cutie Mark Crusaders crash into their lives they find themselves changed. There really is no excuse for forgetting something as important as a hoof-written law. But Celestia forgot. And now, a thousand years after she wrote it, a law comes into play mandating that Celestia take a two-month sabbatical from her duties as Princess of Equestria.

So what happens when she has to step down for a couple months and leave Luna by herself in the bloody gladiator ring that is Equestrian politics? What happens when Celestia has to disguise herself and mingle with the populace of Ponyville without them knowing?

The short answer to that would be "a string of hilarious chance encounters, sisterly banter, romantic mishaps, and a political coup that was decades in the making."

The long answer, of course, is this story.

It's Button Mash's birthday and he's finally legal across all of Equestria. All he wants to do is stay in, work on his kill to death ratio in Thirst for Blood and maybe catch up on some back issues of Moanin' Mares. Unfortunately for him, he has two best friends who've decided they've had enough of him being helpless, repressed and anti-social.

Rumble has a plan: a night of bar hopping from one end of Ponyville to the other where, hopefully, Button Mash can find a girl to take home. Rumble is absolutely sure this is the going to be the best night of Button Mash's life. Button Mash is absolutely sure he just wanted to stay in. Shady Daze is absolutely sure he wants to keep his two best friends out of a prison cell.

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Life isn't fair when you're a teenage pony. Your sister forces you to host a sleepover for your most hated enemy. Your father browbeats you into trying to 'make friends' with the bully that makes your life hell.

At least Diamond Tiara has Silver Spoon, for support. And Sweetie Belle has friends like Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. They bring support, both moral and alcoholic.

The punch is spiked. Tongues are being held. Ponies are on edge. All this sleepover needs is a spark to break the fragile truce between two fillies who will never, ever be friends.
