This story is a sequel to Messenger

Sunset Shimmer has found herself spending a great deal of time with the Dazzlings as of late, as they adjust to their new life-after-magic. Though, considering what the four of them used to be, does she really know Adagio as well as she thinks?

A big thanks to Bookish Delight for collaborative help with vetting my ideas, supplying a few, authorial advice, editing, and general encouragement throughout the process here.

And thanks, as usual, to Csquared08 for additional pre-reading and some brief technical input.

Teen for occasional language, alcohol references and light intimacy.

Nobody has seen the Sirens since the Battle of the Bands, and nearly everyone is fine with that. Months later, Sunset Shimmer feels her entire life is going better then it ever was since the Fall Formal. She has her best friends, the school no longer hates her, and it's summer vacation.

One night on her way back home from band practice, she finds the three powerless Sirens who are now homeless. Deciding to be a nice person, she takes them in, but the question becomes how long will they stay? And what will happen to them in the future?

After the Friendship Games, Sunset feels it's time to return home.

Only when she gets there, Twilight's castle is nowhere to be found, Cadance just got her horn, and Princess Celestia is still calling the bacon-haired pony her prized student rather than a failed one. And just reliving her past isn't on the table thanks to a pair of wings Sunset seems to have sprouted upon her return to Equestria.

With Sunset being back before she's supposed to, will the world stay as harmonious and on track, or will everything go down in flames as Sunset has to deal with allegations that she's really a changeling in disguise, a nerdy stallion with blue hair that wants to be her coltfriend, a pretty pink princess in need of remedial magic lessons, and an annoying purple pre-teen pony that will absolutely not go to bed without first being read Starswirl's Complete Mystical Mysteries Compendium?

Only time will tell

The USS Burning Age is a small, understaffed Miranda-Class starship that does a variety of every tasks for Starfleet in out-of-the-way, low-risk, low-priority worlds. Picking up a a confused, marooned life form might have been the highlight of its service, but that's barely the beginning of the story.

Twilight didn't mean to travel faster-than-light, but here she is, on a space ship, with no idea how to get home. She has high hopes, though: surely, this 'Federation' will send her straight home as soon as they can. Hopefully she'll survive that long.
