So, I was living a fairly normal life, going to school, reading fanfics, marvelling at the magnificence of the internet and humanity at large, you know, a totally normal person. Then, suddenly, I wasn't. No biggie, because every brony's dream came true for me: I was reborn as a pony, an Alicorn even! That sounds great, right? Ah, aha, um, nope! Not when I'm the "son" of God-Empress Celestia of the Holy Empire of Equestria, who would make even the Imperium of 40k balk at her xenophobia and egomania. Everypony has a story. Some tell of heroic feats and grand adventure. Others tell of villainy against the forces of Harmony. The story of an average guard, however, is one of obscurity. They live in the background, unnoticed but ever-present.

Silent Knight assumed his tale would be like that of his father's: join the Royal Guard and serve Equestria. He would be just another helmet and spear, part of the rank and file. And that was all he ever wanted.

However, when Captain Shining Armor asked for volunteers to form a House Guard for the recently returned Princess Luna, it was Silent's hooves that stepped forwards to set his new life in motion.

The earth had belonged to the People since time immemorial, until the ponies came to push them out. For centuries, they have hidden in the forest and the hills, slowly losing ground to their enemies.

But now the gods have chosen two young warriors.

Terrorism, in the past century, has come to be one of the greatest threats to nations all over the world. It has always existed, and may always exist and threaten peace. Despite the danger, governments still bicker, as usual, and hamper any real attempt to counter it.

Officially, there is no multi-national effort to combat any and all terrorism. Unofficially, that organization is Rainbow. Consisting of the best soldiers from nations around the world and armed with the best equipment, this 'blacker than black' unit battles terrorists wherever and whenever; no matter who they are by any means necessary.

These men, who do not exist, receive no real credit for the battles they fight and the lives they save. That doesn't matter; even existing doesn't matter to them. They are dedicated to protecting innocents from an enemy who seems everywhere and nowhere, no matter where they are...
