Funny but I'm not sure what the reference is here. I think it's something related to Legend of Zelda based on the green hat, but as I've never been into that series, I'm not entirely certain.

She's not really wrong. Sure they could fly up the stairs, but frankly their entire design just seems awfully inefficient. They would have to blast apart most environments that aren't level, flat, and have wide areas for them to turn if they couldn't fly, and even then if they're in an environment that is very narrow that a human or pony could navigate, they likely couldn't without explosive force. Not that they would really mind this mind you, it's just that whoever designed these death machines had no interest in practical design or a very limited budget and random shit lying around. I'm guessing the latter.

First off, that' sad. Secondly, I think subconsciously Luna remembers that any and all artifacts of great power or value are not kept in the Canterlot treasury, so nothing of great value was taken-like the Alicorn amulet, which is wisely hidden in an dusty antique shop in Canterlot at the tallest shelf on Celestia can see without getting a step ladder. Also, most of Equestria's funds are in banks and the like. Canterlot's treasury is more for show and most of the gold and jewels there were for show, more than anything else. All in all Sunset might have taken about $176.00 in assorted fake treasures retail price, more likely maybe $50 if she's lucky resell value.

And the third, their wikipedia page (they actually have one)has a section just about Daleks and stairs (also one about Daleks and sofas)

Alriiiight... Every time I try to be a bit meta someone has to take it too seriously. I mean yeah, what you said does make sense, but I'm not sure if the effort you put into this was really worth it for my little joke.
Also the whole bad cooking-thing is a small nod to the fic "Sunny, Moony, Twily", which had a full chapter about Celestia's bad cooking.

So...how did Celestia get her happy ending? I mean, sure, she has Twilight as a new STUDENT, but I'm pretty sure that Twilight has parents, and that means that Celestia will never be able to bond with her like she did with Sunset, as it appears that Sunset doesn't have parents.

I meant it in regards to this story where Sunset (in the first chapter and the prequel) returned and she and Celestia reconciled in a happy (not crazy over the top as the rest of this here) way and finally spend time together again
