This story is the first of two bonus chapters for two different stories. My ‘Of Horseshoes, Apples and Feathers’ and my friend The Irish Brony X’s ‘Honesty and Loyalty’ who was inspired by mine. These are not vital to the plot but makes some things more understandable.

Rainbow Dash attends this year's Sisterhooves Social with Scootaloo, and an impromptu bet with Applejack brings about an odd turn of events. During the aftermath, Rainbow learns something new about her best friend, and about herself.

Years have passed since Octavia Philharmonica and Vinyl Scratch first met on the platforms of Canterlot Station. In the short time that they spent together, they became the best of friends. Then they separated, both of them returning to their homes, meeting one another with less and less frequency as time went on. Within a few years, they had only memories of each other, impressions of the fillies that they used to be.

And then they met again, in the hallways of the Canterlot Conservatory.

Octavia is given a series of cassette tapes, rolling her through the times that she & Vinyl spent together. The most surprising thing of it all, though? Vinyl hasn’t talked in years. To hear her marefriend’s voice, recollecting everything they’ve done together, Octavia is taken on an emotional rollercoaster.

But magic has a strange habit of making things reappear, opening old wounds that could change Rainbow Dash's life forever.

Rainbow Dash finds herself having weird and sudden feelngs for Applejack that she just can't explain. Never before has she felt this was about another female... It's driving her crazy. All the weird looks, competitions and unexplained language. Could Applejack really be into her?

They're sick and tiered of fighting each other: the screaming, the fighting and calling ach other but if Rainbow can't have her then nobody can.

This is not your typical love story. This is not a story where upon realizing my feelings for Rainbow Dash, I confess my love to her and she confesses back and we live happily ever after. This is a story about my infatuation with my best friend, and my constant fear of letting that secret out. Love isn't always an easy path to take, and it sure as hell ain't no sunshine and fairy tales.
