Equestria. Ruled by the High Solar Council of Celestia, is not as it once was. Outside its boundaries, it is known as a peaceful land of equality and acceptance. But inside, however, the inhabitants are under strict laws that, if broken, are punishable by death.

Those laws include, but are not limited to, inter-racial relationships. No pegasus shall mate with an earth pony or unicorn, nor shall an earth pony mare with a pegasus or unicorn, and the same goes for unicorns about pegasi or earth ponies.

Secondly, there shall be no tolerance for same-sex relationships.

Those are strictly enforced, but not as frowned upon as the third and final law: there shall never be a combination of the previous two. If any is discovered, it will result in the immediate execution of both ponies accused.

Rainbow Dash has had to live with these laws for most of her life. She kept her lifestyle a secret, until she met the mare that would change her life forever... and put her in more danger than she had ever been in before.

After Rainbow Dash left to become a Wonderbolt Applejack finds herself working too hard and slipping into depression in the absents of her marefriend. After a hard year an near catastrophic breakup Applejack and Rainbow Dash struggle to pick up the pieces while the girls deal with their own relationships.

1. Importance.
Rainbow immediately knew she said too much, the tears that began shimmering in Applejack's eyes were proof enough of this. Only her pride kept them from running down openly onto her cheeks.

2. A chance to mourn.
The last few days were a mixture of worried glances and condolences. Usually bright and happy mood of Sweet Apple Acres was replaced by forced assurances that everything is fine and silent tears, shed when no one was looking.

After an argument with Applejack, Rainbow Dash leaves Ponyville for half a year to go on an intense Wonderbolt training course, neglecting any feelings she may have had for the farmer. How will Rainbow Dash cope with the new secrets she returns with? Will she push Applejack aside on her return? Or are both girls willing to fight for what is merely hidden? (Pfft of course they are!
