This story is a sequel to Trixie and Maud: Heart of Stone

Set after three months the events of The Heart of Stone, Trixie and her family find themselves living back in New Slate while Twilight slowly recovers from the windigo war. Meanwhile Maud's close proximity to her family begins to cause some issues to come to the surface.

The Great and Powerful Trixie must make a quick stop in the middle of nowhere at Maud's request. Things get a bit out of hoof when Maud returns hurt.

Maud's family is planning to go on a week long vacation. However, this means Maud needs someone to take care of Boulder while she's gone. And apart from her sisters, Maud has very few friends to ask, or that she trusts with him.

Trixie's available, and more than eager to help her 'Maudie'. But, can Trixie overcome her laziness to properly handle Boulder? Can she think of Boulder as more than just a rock? And will she ever get that kiss she thinks Maud owes her?

Maud and Trixie, a strangle couple slowly learning to know each other at the rock farm. Pinkie Pie joined them, happy to witness this cute pairing. But, as days passed, they are going to learn things are always a little more complicated than what they seem...

Except when they are down on their luck and desperately need some bits. And when her boasting catches up with her and she loses all, Trixie is certainly desperate to earn enough bits to get her back on the road, desperate enough to challenge a rock farmer and partner with an expressionless rock expert in order to bring in the bits.

Trixie is the Great and Powerful, after all. Anything other ponies can do, she can do better... can't she?

All Trixie wants is a smile from the emotionless Maud. Yet, no matter how hard Trixie tried, her advances were completely ignored. Now, Trixie is willing to do anything to make Maud smile at her. Even if Trixie has to throw herself on Maud.

The Strata plains Rock Nursery has just hired a new unicorn to help tend the fields. But its owner the long suffering 'Gravel Packs' soon finds that Trixie who is still stinging from her previous humiliation in Ponyville is more than he can cope with and calls in an expert in the form of Maud Pie to assist him in helping Trixie settle in.

Some rocks are harder than others, can Maud help Trixie before the whole farm is ruined?

Now trying to piece herself back together, can she learn the meaning of friendship from her first real friend, Maud Pie? What kind of events will happen between these two ponies? Can Trixie get through to Maud's heart? Will Trixie learn the true meaning of Friendship?
