I'm not dead, and a plea for help with my writing. · 6:43pm Jul 8th, 2014

I was posting a fic each week until early May, and then I suddenly stopped. So, what happened?

Well, three things. The Equestria Daily Writer's Training Ground ended (and, on top of that, I didn't make the last two deadlines), I decided to attempt giving my stories extra polish, and real life intruded.

I didn't stop writing, though. I took part in contests and writeoffs, so, while I didn't post anything new, I have some things (hopefully) coming up.

Yep. And likely to stay away for a good while still. I've sent the reasons by PM but, in case anyone not privy to the conversation gets curious, basically the Season 4 finale clashed so badly with what I expected, or desired, of the series that I had to take some time away to not get burned out with MLP as a whole.

Offline for 10 weeks?

So, how have you enjoyed your time in the fandom so far in general, and on FIMFiction specifically? What have been the best parts and the worst parts for you?

984065 I understand what you mean by making Pinkie too logical, although in the story, you seemed to do alright. I stopped trying to understand Pinkie a long time ago. And I'm not gonna try writing Zecora in anything with a deadline. I'd never finish in time. :facehoof:

Especially since I can't seem to finish ANY fics. I'm working on one, but it's slow going. Sometime I just need to sit down for a couple hours and work, or I'll never finish. :derpytongue2:

And not get distracted by Doctor Who.

In other words, it's easy to try to write Pinkie and end up writing one of the mirror clones from Too Many Pinkie Pies :pinkiehappy:

I would like to think I write a passable Pinkie, but I believe I tend to make her too... logical... if it makes sense. The way my mind works, I tend to try too hard to find a pattern behind her chaos.

BTW, rhyming went about as well as I expected. Which is to say, not very well, and it took me so long I almost missed the deadline and had to cut part of what I planned for the fic. At least I believe I managed to salvage the fic. I still need to practice rhyming a lot before I can write Zecora on any fic with a deadline :facehoof:

At least now I know some of my limitations and can work on improving :twilightsheepish:
