Silent Strider

Compulsive reader, novice writer.

Twilight will be delivering the opening speech at the Book Faire in Canterlot; when Rarity hears about it, she promises to make a simply dazzling dress for her princess friend.

The time is short, but Rarity has no other orders competing for her attention and is in the zone. What could possibly go wrong?

Feel free to point any flaws; it's why I'm taking part in the Writer's Training Grounds, after all.

Nicely done! I would have enjoyed a short closing scene in Canterlot to bring it all back around to a full resolution, perhaps, instead of just the promise of future Ice cream... But a sweet and enjoyable bit of slice-of-life regardless!

And one minor correction:

perhaps she could take Scootaloo and her crusader friends for an ice cream, to commemorate the dress and cheer them up for having to cancel their camping.

I assume Rarity meant Sweetie Belle there.

Oops :twilightoops:
Fixed, thanks. I was thinking about Scootaloo due to her role later in the story — the promise of ice cream in the ending is very much due to what she manages to do

I thought about making a scene in Canterlot, but I couldn't think of something interesting before the deadline for the Training Grounds. I mean, there is a dress fitting and a speech ahead, and that while Rarity is likely tired from making the dress twice; I needed to find something to make that not be boring without introducing further disasters to liven things up :trollestia:
