Scootaloo is refusing to go home. She's flinching at things that shouldn't scare her. She's refusing to talk about her parents.

Rainbow has to figure out what's wrong with her little sister, and how much of her idyllic sounding childhood she had made up.

Starts a little before Season 4's finale.

Scootaloo's birthday is coming up, and Rainbow Dash is unsure of what to get her number one fan. Upon asking her, it seemed her birthday wish would be a little harder to obtain than Dash thought. Enlisting the help of Twilight, the two mares set out to ensure that little Scootaloo has the best birthday ever.

That's right, a fic about best filly where nothing bad, tragic, or otherwise horrible happens to her, or anypony else. This is my attempt at an episode like fic.

Princess Celestia asked Twilight to do a census of her new home. Through this process she discovers certain anomalies that she finds strange as a unicorn. There seems to be something missing when it comes to the pegasi, and after much prodding, prying, some spying and begging, she finally gets them to open up. What she discovers is not only shocking (to her, at least), but revealing on pegasi subculture.

Will what she learns change the way she looks at her friends? Will her friendship with them be ruined?

Nah.

A one-winged Pegasus blacksmith named Swage sets up shop in Ponyville. An old wound has left him grounded, but his heart still belongs to the clouds. When he finds Scootaloo to be a fellow grounded Pegasus, he takes her under his wing and brings her along on his quest to fly again.

Idea provided by Arcum42. Set in between Season 2 and 3. Apparently really cute, but still too dark to not come with a warning. Comedy tag added for comedic dialogues, situations are slightly more on the comedy side than SoL. Tagging's confusing for this one, so tread carefully.

Trigger warning: mind control, alcohol use by minors, mental abuse, mostly concentrated in one chapter.

Octavia is a mare of refinement, calm, and organisation. She enjoys Ponyville life with Vinyl Scratch, and Vinyl's niece, Scootaloo. She sets boundaries, rules and safety measures that ensure all that creative energy is not spent on self-destructive behaviour, and so far her overly energetic housemate has followed these rules to the letter. Oh, and Scootaloo listens most of the time, too.

So when it is decided the next sleepover will be at Scootaloo's place, Octavia is keen to prove she can succeed where other adults have failed, namely to have a night with the Cutie Mark Crusaders and not have her sanity driven to its breaking point or any pieces of furniture broken beyond repair.

This can only end well.

Until Rainbow has to do boring grown-up stuff and ask to meet Scootaloo's parents. No big deal. Just in case something happens, Rainbow knows who to go to.

Except... Scootaloo keeps dodging the question. And nopony in town has a clue where she lives either.

Rainbow is getting worried while Scootaloo is getting more and more desperate to avoid an answer. Because what if that answer isn't cool enough for Rainbow Dash?

It's getting embarrassing.

Scootaloo, pegasus extraordinare and honorary sister of the coolest Wonderbolt ever, is still unable to fly. She'd been told to wait a while and she'd grow out of it. She'd been told that her wings would get stronger if she just kept practicing. She'd been told that she was just a late bloomer.

Bull.

It's time Scootaloo finally flew. She's going to pull out all the stops, break all the rules, and try every strategy in order to achieve her lifelong dream. Not alone, though. She's going to need lots of help from her friends if she wants to do it without getting killed.

At long last, Scootaloo will fly!

With friends coming back to town and leaving just as quickly, Scootaloo finds herself in need of companionship. Enter Spike who's willing to put up her antics.

Spike has dealt with separation, but Scootaloo still needed help in that regard.
