An impromptu trip to Manehattan leaves Fluttershy torn between life back in Ponyville and a little filly who caught her eye. Can she really stand up to the challenge of raising a foal? Especially one as damaged as Scootaloo?

Scootaloo is refusing to go home. She's flinching at things that shouldn't scare her. She's refusing to talk about her parents.

Rainbow has to figure out what's wrong with her little sister, and how much of her idyllic sounding childhood she had made up.

Starts a little before Season 4's finale.

Rainbow Dash has it all. She's popular, respected by those around her, and now that she's been accepted into the Wonderbolts Reserves, her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt is that much closer to being realized.

However, on a day she spends with her surrogate little sister, Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash receives news that will change her life forever. Everypony must deal with loss at some point or another...

Set after much of season 4, but before Equestria Games and Twilight's Kingdom.

It's the worst thing that ever happened to her. She'll have to leave Rainbow Dash and all her friends behind as she's forced to go off and learn about her new talent... and then it gets worse.

Finally with a cutie mark and out of school, Scootaloo runs her own shop where she can fix anything as a master mechanic. She lives a simple life, simple but fulfilling. Yet, something is missing... but the mare doesn't want to admit that what's missing is really important.

But someone else can help open her heart.

During the dragon migration, an evil dragon attacks Ponyville. Twilight and friends are able to chase it off but not after it has destroyed a few houses. One of these is the house of Scootaloo, who was in school at the time. Her parents were caught in the debris of the crumbling house and were crushed beneath it. Now Scootaloo has no family and nowhere to live. Seeing Rainbow Dash feeling guilty for the accident, her friends convince her to take responsibility for the young filly. And so Rainbow Dash adopted Scootaloo as her younger sister. These are the days that they have spent together.

Scootaloo is now the only filly without a Cutie Mark. She still plays with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom, but every time she is there with them, the saddening fact that she is without a Cutie Mark and can't even fly takes over her mind. On a late and rainy night with no place to go, Scootaloo is allowed inside the local bar where she meets a pony with some life-changing advice.

I decided to re-submit this due to a recent interest in the story. Seeing as to how the chapters were riddled with spelling errors and grammatical errors throughout, yet still had zero dislikes, thirteen likes, and generally good comments, I thought that a re-submission might be worth it.

Scootaloo may be young and brave, but when she enters a scooter race, an accident occurs and destroys her hopes along with her confidence for being the strong filly she's known to be. With friends, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, can she ever regain her confidence and get her dreams and hopes back on track?

Eight years ago Rainbow promised never to tell let anypony know she had a child, it was better for everyone that way. Even when that child moved to ponyville. Even when that child wanted to be her little sister. Everypony knows that chasing daylight always ends in heartbreak.
