Among loss, young Jack Woodshift laments the loss of both his parents and hope for life. One, bitter night, he reminisces the various joys he's lost in life, only to compare it to a recent fanfiction. Jaded, dazed and losing purpose in daily existence, he takes a walk. Snow beneath his feet, he recollects the various ways he used to smile, only to find it near-impossible. Jack observes a tragic keepsake from someone long ago, wishing sarcastically for an impossible 'pony-meets-human' scenario. Little does he know that maybe, just maybe, life isn't all cynicism and grey.

[Takes place in the Bubblegum Universe.]

Supplemental slice of life chapters to The Wheel and The Butterfly

A misanthropic man finds himself sharing an apartment with a bubbly, hyperactive girl. A pink pony turned human is doing her best to adjust to a new world. Together they will get through sharing living space without killing each other... probably.

On her six month anniversary of becoming a princess, Celestia decides to send Twilight a book as a present. Being her curious self, Twilight opens the book and reads it almost immediately after receiving it. But not long after starting the first chapter, she discovers a word she hasn't seen before. The only problem is that this particular word isn't in the dictionary. Every time she says this particular word, a loud bleep is heard and a large black box appears over the pony's mouth. She runs to her friends to solve this mystery, and censorship ensues. She also goes a little insane. Okay, a LOT insane.

While Rarity undoubtedly killed nopony, she stood accused of trying to kill Prince Blueblood of the royal family, which is even greater than performing a normal murder successfully.

Despite Twilight Sparkle being a royal princess, she had no power to simply waive her friend's crime, but that didn't stop her from helping her generous friend to the very limit of her abilities
