After some input and conversations with I've decided to open Ponyville Public Access to submissions. In fact, the newest submission just came out.
If you have an idea for a commercial or even show/snippet of a show you want to submit right it up and send it! I'll credit authors in the authors notes for the chapter at the top of the page.
Guidelines:
This is rated "teen" so keep language and subject matter within this ratting.
Submissions must be present tense to match the other stories.
Grammar spelling doesn't have to be perfect, but shouldn't be too painful that I can't get through and correct it (not really a great way to quantify this, so make sure to proofread anything submitted if you know you have issues here. )
The main genre is comedy so it should be funny. It can be rather absurd however (thanks "Random" tag!), as you may have noticed.
Entries can be short or long.
You can use show characters I or anyone else has written. OCs are fine as well.
That's about it. Just PM me if you have entries or questions, or even ask below. A Google Docs link would be ideal for submissions, but I can probably copy paste something otherwise.
- The Royal Guard was reviewed and found a very disappointing number of female recruits (none at all), despite the fact that both genders are allowed to join. So, an recruitment ad that starts off normal and patriotic while directed at mares, but eventually devolves into the announcer begging them to join before he's fired.
- The girffons of Equestria (Gilda) submit a PSA on how for many species, hunting and eating animals is their natural behavior, so don't call the Royal Guard if you see them eating the animal you just released back into the wild.
- A thinly-veiled NLR propaganda film.
- A cheap soap opera that depicts the interspecies relationship of a griffin and a pony.
- A televised Royal guard meet and Greet where Flash Sentry visits the Ponyville schoolhouse, but then devolves into them asking typical stuff like 'have you killed anyone' and 'how many drug cartels have you busted' (four). Eventually he gets so fed up that he opens a window and flies out.
So, how long would the chapter have to be as a minimum to get in?

There's no minimum, at least none at the moment. Just as long as whatever is given to me has a beginning and an end of some sort. It can even be an abrupt end caused be technical difficulties, personnel leaving in disgust, etc...

I like it. It makes a lot of sense that suicide is almost unheard of in Ponyville given how cheery it usually is there. Pony society and jobs are also based off cutie marks which seem to both signify what a pony is good at and what they like doing, so it's probably difficult to fine ponies that are even generally unhappy, let alone suicidal.

The basic premise is Luna hosting a nightmare night themed show for kids, and her constantly fighting with the director behind the camera over what is "appropriate" for kids. Luna will be forced to promote candy and toys she either has no interest in or is confused by what they have to do with the holiday, and every time she tries to be scary and morbid, she gets cut off for being too scary. By the end she snaps, turns into nightmare moon, and leaves the show to take back the night. Then some random pony could be put in as a replacement just to end the show.
I have an idea brooding in the back of my mind. Might type it out if I get the time/off my lazy ass for once. Is a pastebin link okay?

It depends on how much formatting is involved. If you're not doing much bolding or italicing, it's fine. GDocs is nice in that I can import it with formatting, but lots of submissions have been through PM. It should be fine.
