Following her tragic death by yet another villain of the week, Twilight Sparkle finds herself facing something all alicorns eventually uncover.

When I agreed to be sent to Equestria I didn't read the fine print. I'm the wrong age, the wrong sex, and lost in the wilderness.

One night, Twilight notices something odd as she's nestled in bed with Rarity: her hair smells different, just slightly. The next morning, her tea tastes a little bit less sweet, and the flowers outside smell somewhat less fragrant. Out at a cafe together, the music doesn't sound as sharp and clear, and Rarity's new dress feels marginally less smooth against her coat.

Twilight just wants to know what's happening, so she can fix it. It has to be temporary, after all.

Sometimes unexpected mishaps occur; sometimes you leave your saddlebag at home, sometimes a faucet breaks, sometimes you lose the keys to the front door.

Sometimes a small star appears in your bedroom.

Fortunately for Celestia, whereas the rest of you would be apocalyptically out of luck, she has Luna.

Unfortunately for her, that means talking to Luna.

There are many rules to a good horror film. Most ponies learn them with time and experience.

Twilight never did. Now, trapped in a desolate inn at the end of a long driveway, far from help, she will learn of them. Or, at least, one of them. The one Rarity, her only surviving friend, insists is keeping Twilight alive.

To everyponies misfortune, Twilight has questions, and fleeing in terror like she should will not get her the answers.

It’s going to be a bad night for the killer.

This is a love story.

Poor Trixie can't get a break. In between stops on her Humble and Penitent Equestrian Apology Tour, her cart breaks down in the middle of a dangerous forest. Unfortunately for her, she is happened upon by a petulant python that seems to have a love for magic tricks. However, the giant snake has a few 'tricks' of her own, which she's happy to show to Trixie. In "teaching" Trixie, the snake begins to make some rather odd suggestions, that Trixie seems to weirdly agree with. What dastardly plan could this serpent possibly be hatching?

Thunderlane brings over some company for a weekend without his parents. He forgets about an assignment, leaving Flitter and Cloudchaser alone with Rumble, who has magically become a lamia pony. Hijinks ensue to a great but not unreasonable extent.

Rumble is lured...err...invited over by the CMC for a playdate, little does he know, they have something else in mind. Something more sinister and...slithery.
