The Apple Family gathers together one Autumn evening for a very special family dinner at Sweet Apple Acres, as part of a special family reunion organized by Granny Smith.

What makes it so special, you ask? Well, each Apple gets to bring one guest along to count as honorary family. All that matters is that they have a special connection to the one inviting them.

Granny Smith chooses Grand Pear, her one time business rival now trying to make up for lost time. Big Macintosh brings his mare friend, Sugar Belle, for her first Apple Family get together. Applejack invites Rara to take a break from her music career and rekindle an old friendship. And Apple Bloom (taking the advice of her fellow Crusaders) agrees to let Diamond Tiara come so that the filly can get away from her troubles for a while.

But what will these honorary family members have to say? And what will the Apples chat about around the dinner table?

What's a poor blank-flanked filly to do when she wakes up as an alicorn? That's exactly what Apple Bloom is asking after she somehow grows a pair of wings overnight. Needless to say, hilarity ensues.

Applejack and Fluttershy have been together for a while, and Applejack wants to take the next step.

When Fluttershy is hit by a case of the feather flu, however, Applejack will have to put everything on hold to care for her marefriend.

This story is a sequel to Child Of Misery

Apple Bloom's summer wasn't going as she had hoped. With both her friends busy with their own pursuits she finds herself without anything to do. So when she's given an offer; something that would allow her to join her friends in their pursuits, she takes it. Now gifted with extraordinary power, she must learn to control it and try not to lose herself in the process.

Reading Child of Misery is not required; but this story contains spoilers for that one so if you do want to read it, definitely read that one first.

Apple Bloom thought it was just a game at first. That was what Sweetie Belle had said anyways. It was just something to bring out at sleep overs to scare each other silly before going to bed.

But then Apple Bloom started playing with the Ouija board by herself... or so she thought. At first she’s thrilled when her parents contact her. It gives her a connection with them she always wanted but never had. But as time goes on, the things they say sound less and less like what a parent would say to a child. The things they ask her to do become more and more unthinkable.

When she decides to throw away the board game, she thinks that will be the end of it. Unfortunately, she might be done playing with it, but it isn’t done playing with her.

My own personal headcanon for the story behind the death of Applejack's parents.

Applejack has seen a great many things in her life. Some good, some not so good. Fortunately she has her faithful group of friends to help her out when things get rough. But things weren't always that way. There is a day in her past that continually haunts her, and back then, she didn't yet have the magic of friendship to get her through it.

This one shot details that one night, the night that changed everything.

-Taking place after Rainbow Rocks but before the events of Friendship games.-

The fall harvest has always been back breaking work, but Applejack finds it doubled after Big Macintosh sprains his arm in the field. After trying to take on the whole workload herself she is working herself into the ground. Her friends are concerned but take her at her word that she'll be fine. All but Sunset Shimmer who fears her new friend has taken on more then she can chew. Sunset through force of will manages to convince Applejack that she needs help and afterwords Applejack starts to see her once foe in a very different light.

(Pinkie Pie & Apple Bloom, Friendship) Pinkie Pie nearly dies in the middle of a return trip through a snowstorm in the aftermath of a bitter family reunion. Apple Bloom is thrown into a depression after a morale-shattering revelation concerning the nature of Cutie Marks. Both of them end up using their respective stories to share a moment between each other while Pinkie Pie is recovering from hypothermia.

After coming back from adventures with their families, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo proclaim themselves to be the bravest fillies in Ponyville. Wanting to see who is braver, the two Crusaders have a dare contest to see who is the bravest of them all.
