All Scootaloo has ever wanted to do is fly. So much so to the point that she's started spying on Rainbow Dash while she practices tricks to try to teach herself how to get off the ground. Unfortunately for her, the results are horrible, and Scootaloo just about gives up on flying - until a certain blue pegasus takes her on as a flight student.

Author's Note: This is the first story I've ever written! Please be patient, and constructive criticism and feedback is welcomed and appreciated! The teen rating is there because of themes of abuse and dark undertones.

A boy who saw his family die in front of him, on the same day when he finds out the war had killed his friends, takes his own life to escape insanity. Instead he is brought forth before Faust the Alicorn and is told of a world where he would get a second chance at life, love, and friendship. Though what Faust never counted for, was that the insanity had followed him, he thought she made fun of him, and lashed out. Faust was forced to seal his memories, but saw a glimmer of hope within him that what she said was truth. She sends him to the Everfree Forest, reversing his age to a young 5. Coincidentally, that night was the same night Princess Luna would be flying over his exact dropoff location, where she would find him, and would bring him back to Canterlot Castle with her.

"I've traveled the world, seen many things and found my way out of everything. But how can I keep from getting close to ponies who care so much, and for no real reason. Yeah i saved a life or two but why is that so special to them, oh well. But i can't just let them in, i can't let anyone in...."
A pony with something to hide has come to Equestria, and by mere chance has befriended the royals of this new and strange land. What will become of a pony who wanted to be alone in a new world of friendship?

A/N: This story was written for the National Novel Writing Month, however, Resurgence also represents the conclusion of an idea that started with the first EQD writing prompt. With this story comes the end of my Equestria's Tales stories I had been working on. Things grew quite intense with the necessity to deal with real life circumstances. Anyways, I hope the story is enjoyable, and it isn't too horrible to read. As always, feedback is appreciated so I can learn how to better myself as a writer.

Knowing that Canterlot isn't the best place to raise a filly, she entrusts Twilight and her friends to raise her in Ponyville, but keeps the truth about this filly a secret.

Captured by the clutches of a clockwork army, Scootaloo and Silver Spoon must take the path of pirating to make their way back home to Equestria. But on their journey they must face friends old and new, a dangerous Clockwork Armada, and...the truth about the filly's heritage. Scootaloo will face challenges not faced before, villains both funny and merciless, and an abilities and powers that she never thought she had before.
