Things change but this time is it better or worse?
Twilight has been through a lot of things, near defeat from Nightmare Moon, almost losing her friends, almost losing her brother, almost failing, all those things. But can she deal with this new predicament? Can she battle a new enemy while....you know.

It was morning again in Equestria just like any other day but she wondered will they react differently? Will they know it's her? Will they look in her eyes and see the pony they love? Conflicted she put on a silk black cloak, ironically it still fit her new body. She made her way down to see number one assistant making breakfast. "Morning Twilight." The young dragon said as he prepared the food. "I'm not sure if your body could take your old food so I made PB&J." he said as he put it down on a plate.
"Thanks Spike." she said as she knelt down to pat him on the head. Sitting down in her crystal seat, (which felt ice cold) she ate her sandwich. "This is the best you've made Spike, kind of wish I had your skills at making these. I would if I could but." She felt the top of her head where her horn used to be but due to the "incident" a while back it was gone......possibly forever. She put her sandwich down and got up hoping to escape the wave of tears that could take her. "Hey uh Spike. I'm going in my room."
"Are you sure? I know you've been feeling down after that uh.........thing, that happened to you. If you want I can talk to you." She sat down next to the young dragon.
"Thank you Spike. I haven't been feeling the same since....you know."
"Yeah, I was there."
During her last visit to Canterlot High a malfunction happened in the machine hooked up to the mirror it some how changed her into......this. She avoided contact with the ponies outside, afraid that they might scorn their Princess of Friendship, she even avoided Princess Celestia. Princess Luna was the only one who knew of her plight but Twilight begged her not to tell her sister about Twilight's new form, the shock to Celestia could be too much. Nevertheless she still went outside if she needed to, wearing a thick cloak to avoid eye contact from other ponies.
"I'm sorry for what happened Twilight, but you have to let it go. Even if you look different you're still Twilight." The dragon said trying to comfort her.
"How can you be sure that other ponies will think that? They have never seen this before!" she said almost to the point of crying, hot tears fell down her purple cheeks. "I just don't want them to see me as a monster.....I just want to be normal again." she put her face into her hands as she wept. Spike walked over to her and hugged her arm.
"I know......that's why we need help."
"But who would help someone that looks like this? What kind of pony would overlook what I look like?" she asked voice breaking from the tears.
"Princess Celestia" the baby dragon responded.
"What!? But.....but what will she say about this?" she said in surprise. " I can't just stroll up to the castle looking like this!" Spike nodded in agreement but was still determined to help his friend.
"Then we'll bring her here. I'll just write a letter to her." As he reached for the quill Twilight grabbed it, Twilight was kind of fast in her new body. While she was missing her horn her hands were suitable replacements.
"No! Please don't! Last thing I need is the princess canceling my-" The baby dragon put his hand on her mouth.
"Did she cancel your studies when I saved Equestria?" she looked down to the ground and back up at Spike and shook her head "And did she cancel your studies when you became a Princess?" Again she shook her head. "And did she cancel your studies during those times you caused a problem?" She gently grabbed his hand and lowered it shaking her head. The baby dragon grabbed the pen out of her hand. "Exactly, Twilight she'll understand that this wasn't your fault. You didn't choose to be this way, it just happened." Twilight was touched by her assistants words of wisdom.
"Thank you Spike, I hate when you go all Spike the Sage on me." Spike laughed at this and began writing.
"You know, you could make me a teacher once in a while." he smirked.
She gave him a nice try look. "Eh worth a shot." The baby dragon blew his fire onto the note and the ashes floated toward their destination.
"I hope she gets the message. I want to go back to walking on all fours. And I kinda miss flying." Twilight thought aloud.
"It's not so bad being a biped." said Spike. "I live with it everyday. Walking on all fours though? That's hard, how do you ponies do it?" Twilight giggled at his question. For the first time since the accident she was her old self again......well almost. "Should I tell the girls that you want to see them?"
"No I'll do it. I was going out anyway till my emotions got in the way." she said as she got up and walked out. "I'll see you afterwards Spike." she said as she knelt down and gave him a hug.
"Try not to scare anypony okay?" he said as he hugged her. She walked out of the castle and made her way to Ponyville, taking a deep breath she collected her thoughts and put her hood on as she made her way to the village.

Her first stop was Carousel Boutique, she wanted to see if Rarity could make some clothes for her new self. As she approached the door she hesitated a little but collected her thoughts and opened the door. As always she saw the pearl white unicorn fixing up display stands for the masses, she couldn't help but smile at this sight. Soon the hood and cloak caught Rarity's attention. "Hello and welcome to Carousel Boutique where every thing is chic, unique and treis magnifique!" she said with glee.
She doesn't even know who I am. thought Twilight, this may have been good for her but she felt kind of worried. Would Rarity be afraid of the new her or will she accept her new form? No, she's my friend. she thought combating the negative thoughts that flooded her mind. "Rarity.....we need to talk." she said.
"Twilight!?" she exclaimed with the usual over dramatic gasp. "Where have you been darling!? I've been worried sick about you! Also why are you wearing that um.....charming cloak?"
Same old Rarity she thought. She was glad to see her friends over the top reaction to every little thing, while annoying at some times she was glad to see her reaction now. "I know and I'm sorry. I have a really big problem now." she said.
"Big as in you used a Height Spell?" said the fashionista pony as he examined Twilight's current height. "You didn't step in Poison Joke did you?" she said backing up a little. "I have enough problems keeping this mane perfect as it is." she said showing off her violet mane.
"This is beyond a simple height spell." She took a deep breath. Here we go. "I'm going to show you something but I need you to promise me you won't shun me for how I look. I've had enough mental discourage from myself."
All Rarity could do was raise an eyebrow. "Twilight don't be ridiculous! You are my friend and one of my closest ones too. I wouldn't shun you even if you wore something garish!" she said to Twilight trying to cheer her up.
"Thanks Rarity." Twilight felt a river of tears building up but not of sadness but of happiness. Slowly she reached for her hood and took it of her head, letting her dark hair fall down her back. "This is the new me." she said.
Rarity just stood there as she looked up at her friend. Indeed she looked nothing like her but her voice and her eyes assured her it was her friend. "Dear Celestia! What happened to you Twilight? Did an experiment go wrong?" she said. "Should I grab a chair for you?" she said in a concerned voice.
Twilight smiled at her friend's generosity. Despite every reaction she thought Rarity would do she was glad Rarity understood her plight. Letting emotion take control she knelt down and hugged her friend staining her fur with tears. "Thank you Rarity. Thank you for understanding." she said her voice breaking up.
Rarity while initially shocked at the sudden reaction of Twilight, embraced her giving her a reassuring hug. "Anytime Twilight, anytime. But if you don't mind me asking how did you end up like this? Surely it wasn't a spell was it?"
Twilight told Rarity of her last trip and the malfunction in the mirror, she also told her about the self exile she put herself through in the castle and the many times she donned the cloak and hood, she ended when she got to Spike telling her it was going to be okay. Rarity listened to every word, absorbing every bit of information. "So that's why we've haven't seen you in weeks?" she asked.
"Yes." she said as she looked at herself in a mirror. "I was just afraid that you guys might not want to see me. I didn't know how to deal with being stuck like this....." she felt her knees wobble but willpower made her stand up. "But now I'm going to reverse this, problem is I don't know how."
"Well it sounds like Princess Celestia could help you. After all she knows a lot about magic. She could reverse what happened to you." said Rarity.
"Spike wrote a letter to her. Before he wrote it, Princess Luna was the only one who knew about this, I begged her not to tell Princess Celestia. But now it's time she knew. Twilight said grabbing her cloak. "Thank you for understanding Rarity." She said.
"Anytime Twilight. Just for you, I'll make clothes for your....um, condition." said the white unicorn with a nervous smile.
Same old Rarity thought Twilight as she giggled. Putting up her hood she left the Boutique and looked around as she walked to Sugarcube Corner. Hopefully Pinkie won't freak out. thought Twilight. As she entered she was welcomed by noise makers and confetti.
"Hey Twilight! Missed you!" said Pinkie. "So anything new? Any new spells? Any new books? Any news from the school thing? Tell me!" she asked excitedly.
Twilight giggled at her friends excited curiosity. "Hello Pinkie I missed you too, but I don't have anything new....well that's kind of a lie. You see-"
"Your mirror thing had a malfunction making you look like what you do in that alternate world, got really super duper sad and lonely, decided to cheer yourself up by seeing us, and saw Rarity?" said the party pony.
Twilight stood there with her jaw wide opened. "How did you......I mean......but........wha..........how?" the girl mumbled trying to comprehend the situation.
"Just a hunch." said Pinkie smiling her incorruptible innocent smile.

Twilight was walking down the dirt road of Ponyville just admiring the scenery and the buildings. Her next stop was Sweet Apple Acres. I haven't seen Apple Jack since the incident, she's gotta be worried about me, thought Twilight as she made her way to the barn. Soon she heard a familiar zoom sound and looked up in the air to see a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane zipping around the sky. Well I guess I can see Rainbow first.
Putting her hands around her mouth, she shouted the weather pony's name and soon Rainbow's ears lead her to the sound of the voice. "Twilight!? Is that you?!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash. Without thinking she zoomed towards her friend and landed next to her. "Where have you been!?" Suddenly she examined her friend. "And why are you so tall?"
Twilight looked around to see if anypony was watching and gestured Rainbow to an alleyway, when the made their way to the alley Twilight darted her head left and right. "Okay, what you are about to see is kind of shocking. So please don't freak out, the less ponies know about this the better. Got it?"
"Twilight I'm the most loyal pony in Equestria. I can handle whatever is thrown at me." smirked the weather pony. "After all, I am an awesome pony."
"Not this time Rainbow." said Twilight as she removed her hood for Rainbow to see her face. Her reaction was a mix of amazement and puzzlement.
"What happened? Is this what you looked like in that other world?" asked Rainbow in curiosity. she examined her friend's new form. It was obviously a sight to behold to the pegasus, but a problem kept rearing it's ugly head...her clothes. "No offense Twilight but those clothes you're wearing underneath the cloak, kinda.......bland."
Twilight rolled her eyes at this. "I'm not trying impress anypony Rainbow.....and I like this outfit a lot thank you!" she said. while on the outside she was angry on the inside she was smiling, she missed the pegasus's snide remarks.
"Whatever. So how did this happen? Did you botch another transformation spell or something?"
Twilight put her face in the palm of her hand and was immediately frustrated. "No. During my last trip to Canterlot High something happened to the mirror, and now I look like this." She later explained why she hasn't been seen in the last few weeks.
"So you've been worried about how you look? Then again I would act the same too in your hooves." said the pegasus.
"I've had a horrible week, you can thank Spike for snapping me out of my funk." said the purple skinned girl. But I've learned a couple of things while I've been in this body. Did you know the the inhabitants of C.H.S. can't eat daises or hay?"
Rainbow raised an eyebrow. "How do you know this?" she asked.
Twilight gave her the you don't want to know face which in her experience was horrible. It tasted like.......well......plant.
"Is Apple Jack at home? I want to see her." said Twilight as she put her hood back on and gestured to rainbow to follow her.
"Yeah, of course she's been worried about you. So is Fluttershy. And the Crusaders. To be honest things kinda got boring ever since we beat Starlight Glimmer and she found friendship." said the rainbow maned pegasus. "So, you think Princess Celestia can fix you? I made an awesome cloud system for us to race in."
The former pony smirked and said "I don't know and we'll see." she said pointing at her. "I may consider racing after I get used to my normal body when I go back to normal." she said.
"Eh suit yourself. Nice speaking to you Twi, Take care!" And like that the pony aerial ace took off leaving a rainbow trail that followed her as she went off to Celestia knows where in the heavens.
I'll put racing with Rainbow Dash on the third of my list. Thought Twilight as she continued on her journey to Sweet Apple Acres. That reminds me I need to check in with Sugar Bell on Starlight's reformation.... Ever since Starlight was defeated, she accepted the idea of friendship, it was then that during her efforts to stop Twilight and her friends from getting their Cute Marks that she saw something she didn't see....that Cutie Marks bring ponies together not drive them apart, although she learned it the hard way.
Soon the former unicorn made her way to the gate of Sweet Apple Acres. "Okay Applejack say hello to the new me." she thought aloud as she made her way to the orchard.

"Whew! That's the last of em." said Applejack as she bucked the last tree. "Should be enough for the week."As she was about to head back she saw a hooded figure talking to Granny Smith and Big Mac. Strange, we weren't expectin' any pony to visit unless it's.... "Twilight!?"
Setting down her pick of the apples she ran to the house to meet Twilight. "Twilight!" she said to her friend, while in her heart she was relived, her face looked angry. "Where in the hay have ya been!? Y'all had me worried sick!" she said.
"I'm kind surprised you didn't notice my new height." said the Princess of Friendship.
"Ah'll get to that later, where were you!? You've been gone for two months! Ah thought somethin' happened to ya!" said the farm pony.
"I know and I'm sorry.... I just didn't want you to see me like this." She told Applejack of what had happened to her and how she dealt with it. "I'm sorry if I kept this a secret, but I was scared.... You'd be too if you were in my shoes." said Twilight
"Ah guess I would.... but Ah'm still mad at ya for keepin' this a secret!"Applejack said as she stamped her hoof down.
"I know you are and I don't expect you to forgive me right now. I just wanted to see you." said Twilight
Applejack weighed the options in her mind, on one hoof she could forgive Twilight and on the other she could be mad at her for weeks. "Ah'll forgive ya but Ah'm still mad at ya! You had Spike lie to us, Twilight!" turning her back
"I know Applejack and it was a mistake." said the princess. It wasn't an easy thing lying to her friends, more importantly Applejack, the most dependable of ponies. "You have every right to be mad at me and I won't think less of you." she said putting her hood on her head. "I hope you vent your anger out soon."
Applejack just stood there like statue for what seemed like hours but then she smirked. "Ah will, you go visit Fluttershy, Ah got an orchard to buck." she said. She pulled the wheel barrel with her teeth and tried to tie the straps to her side, Twilight walked over and helped tie the straps. "Ah guess having those doohickeys is pretty fun." she said.
"To be honest, I'll take my hooves and horn over hands any day" said the Princess. "Hands and extra height are great and all but I miss using magic."
"So how will ya get back to normal?" asked Applejack. "Ah mean ya don't have yer horn."
"I'm hoping Princess Celestia can help me." said Twilight looking down at her hands. "I hope she knows a spell that can turn me back." Soon Twilight put her hood up and said good bye to Applejack. I hope that Fluttershy is okay. she thought to herself.
At the castle Spike was taking inventory on Twilight's Books........again........for the twelfth time in the week, nevertheless Spike simply did his work. "Jump up make a sound, stomp your hooves, turn around." he sang to himself, ever since his last visit to Canterlot High during the Battle of the Bands, he couldn't help but remember the song the girls came up with to help Twilight beat Sunset. "When Twilight fixes that portal, I should visit CHS one of these days." It was all going good until he heard hoofsteps walk in, instinctively he hid behind a stack of books broom handle in claw and waited.
"Spike?" said a voice. "Twilight?" He looked up and saw a lavender coated mare with a purple and green mane and tail and a cutie mark with a purple star and green mist following it. It was Starlight Glimmer.
"Oh hey Starlight." he said sighing in relief. After Starlight's reformation she visited most of the time, she was like a second student to Twilight, her first was Sunset. "Twilight just left the castle."
"Where'd she go? I was hoping I could see her." asked Starlight. "I've been trying my hoof at some spells and I wanted to see her."
"Sorry, but in her current um......position she can't preform magic right now." he said putting the broom down only to look at Starlight with a look of concern.
"What do you mean?" she said, with a hint of worry in her voice. "Is she hurt? What happened?" she asked in panic.
"Calm down she's fine, she's just um...." he looked as if he was trying to hide something, but just gave up. "It's better to show you." he said as he walked towards a door and opened it. "Just promise not to freak." he said to the ex villainess.
She simply raised her eyebrows and followed him into the room, he took a ladder and climbed up to a crystal candelabra . With a breath he lit the candles with red flame illuminating the room, she looked everywhere to see what looked like wires and gars and machinery running along the glittering walls. "What was she working in he-" her thoughts where interrupted as she saw the core of it all, a mirror connected to bits of machinery. "What is that?" she said walking up to it.
"Careful." the baby dragon warned. "After what happened to Twilight I don't know hat will happen to you." he said.
"What is this?" she asked as she walked over to the machine.
"A portal to another world. One like ours, but very different." explained the dragon. "Last time twilight used it it changed her."
Starlight listened but was too absorbed by it's beauty, another world....who'd of thought? She walked up t the mirror just staring at the glass like doorway. "Why wasn't I told?"
"There was a student of Princess Celestia who wanted to use the mirror, she went to the other world and ruled over a school and turned into a demonic creature, but she was reformed. We were worried you might do the same." he said with a hint of sadness in his voice.
Starlight slowly raised her hoof and slowly put it in the portal, as she did her muscles tensed for a bit as she felt a twinge of cold and.....fabric? she looked to where her hoof was but soon her eyes widened like the moon and she saw what looked like a sleeve and a fleshy appendage with five twig looking objects. "AAAAGH!!!" she screamed as he pulled her hoof out and was terrified beyond anything she could comprehend.
"I warned you." he said. he could see that Starlight was shaking like she saw the Pony of Shadows and simply smiled. "I reacted like that too. so did Twilight." he said as the young unicorn looked at her hoof.
"M-my. h-h-hoof! What hap-happened to it?" she said trying to gather her thoughts. "What was that?" she asked pointing at the mirror in fear.
"It's called a hand." Spike said trying not to laugh.

Starlight sat near the mirror just staring at it, then she looked at her hoof and back at the mirror. "Why did my hoof turn into a um.......hand?" she asked still wary of what transpired.
"I don't know exactly. I guess with me I turned into a dog and Twilight changed into something from the other world." he said cleaning the floor near the machine. "It's like ours but different."
"How different?" asked the lavender pony.
"Well the inhabitants of that world don't use magic, they use these things like hoof or handheld phones, these things called computers, cameras, and these cool machines called cars! They even have these things called TVs." He explained to Starlight. "Now I kinda wish I could go back, but ever since the accident me and Twilight are nervous." he said.
"Why is it still on?" asked Starlight. "Wouldn't it be better to turn it off and fix it?" she asked. Her answer was given from a sad look from the baby dragon. "What?"
"It's not that simple. She wants to keep it on so she can run some tests." he said. "So far nothing." For weeks the wondered what happened to the mirror, almost to the point where she obsessed over it. "It kinda scares me, I'm afraid I'll never see those versions of my-" there was a slight clattering, as if something fell on a floor.
"What was that?" she said as she got off the couch. She walked to where the noise was, Whatever it was, its in here she thought to herself, to her surprise she found what looked like a black rectangular object. "Huh?" she said aloud. Using a levitation spell she picked it up and studied it, it looked like it had what looked like a window in the middle and a small button beneath it. She stared at it with curiosity, before the dragon stared at it.
"Where did you get this?" he said with puzzlement in his voice.
"I just found it on the floor." she said as she looked at the peculiar thing. "What is it, is that one of those cell phone things?" she asked.
He just stared at it. What's this doing here? It should be at Canterlot High! he thought to himself, he looked afraid but then he calmed down a bit. "Eh, poor guy from CHS probably lost it. It probably flew through the portal." he said putting it down.
Starlight just looked at the phone for a second and then walked back. "How was the other unicorn like me?" she asked. "Did she try to ruin everyone's lives too?" She often wondered who this "Second Student of Celestia" was, and how did she ended up in the other world.
"Her name was Sunset Shimmer." he said. "She was kinda like you, only it didn't take us a whole month to get her to see the light, we did it in three days!" he said smiling, but it faded when saw her raising an eyebrow at him. "Heh.....no offense." he responded nervously.
"None taken." the violet unicorn said through gritted teeth.
(Twilight POV)
The sun had begun to set over the forest next to Fluttershy's cottage, it was almost nighttime. Last stop of the day, then back to the lab for more tests. thought Twilight. Knowing Fluttershy, it was obvious she worried the most, she hoped that Fluttershy was alright. she approached the oak door and knocked on it softly (It kept the animals asleep). She heard hoofsteps make their way to the door.
"Um....w-w-who is it?" a soft, meek voice said.
"Fluttershy, it's me Twilight." Soon she heard some locks unlock and the door opened to a yellow pegasus with pink hair.
"Twilight? Is that you?" she asked looking up at her friend.
"Yes and no." soon she told Fluttershy of her predicament.
"Gosh, that sounds scary. Have you fixed it yet?" asked the pegasus.
"That's the strangest thing, there's nothing wrong with the mirror." said the Princess.
"Um..m-maybe you made a mistake?"
I made a mistake? "Fluttershy, I never make mistakes." She soon received a raised eyebrow. "Okay maybe a little." The eyebrow was still raised "Okay, a few." It didn't vanish "Okay I've made a few, but this isn't one of those mistakes where I caused the-" Soon a noise blared out scaring Fluttershy. It sounded like.....an alarm horn?
"What is that?" trembled Fluttershy.
Wait......that can't be. Not even bothering to put on her cloak she ran to the source with Fluttershy in tow.
"I've never seen you run this fast before!" the pegasus softly exclaimed.
Oh dear Celestia let me be wrong. When she came to the source all she could do was gasp in horror, and confusion. I was right. Her thoughts were correct, she was staring at what looked like a vehicle from Canterlot High. "No....why is this here!?" she asked herself.
Fluttershy peeked and looked at the large machine. "What is that?" she asked approaching it carefully. "I've never seen anything like this before in Equestria. " she looked at the machine lost in the bright red of the paint.
"Why is this here? It's not supposed to be here!" Twilight panicked and started to sweat. Why is a car here in Equestria!? It's supposed to be at Canterlot High!
"Um Twilight, are you okay?" asked the yellow pegasus.
"NO! This isn't supposed the be here!! More importantly, how did it get here!?" she asked in a panicked voice and soon her hair was getting unruly form the multiple questions.
"What is it though?" she asked.
"It's a car. It's like a carriage only it's more, well advanced." she explained.
"Ooh." said Fluttershy
"Sorry to cut this visit short Fluttershy, but I have to get back to the Castle and run some tests on the mirror, I'll see you soon!" she said lifting her cloak up and running off.
"Oh okay, bye Twilight." she said. She turned her head toward the vehicle and and walked back to her house.

She just stared at the device like a cat waiting for it to do something. "You know, you've been staring at that for an hour." said Spike. "Aren't you going to get bored? What are you waiting for?"
"I heard a humming noise from it. I wanted to see if it'll do it again." explained Starlight.
"It's probably on vibrate." Starlight looked at him with a puzzled expression. "It's so they don't get in trouble at places like the mall, the movies, and school." he explained.
"Mall?"
"Take my advice, don't got here. All you'll find is a bunch of shops and posters for some pretty girl or guy." he said soon the door opened and he saw Twilight standing and panting. "Twilight, you okay?" she ignored him and took off her cloak and looked at the mirror. "Hey what's wrong?"
Starlight looked at this new creature in awe,why did Spike call it Twilight? Was that her? Why does she look like that? the questions bounced around her mind like a ball.
"Spike, we have a problem, I saw a car next to Fluttershy's house!" explained Twilight in horror, Spike shared the same expression but Starlight was confused.
"But how?! I-I-mean why was a car there!?" Just as Twilight was about to explain she saw a hint of violet and looked up to see Starlight Glimmer, with a confused look on her face.
"When did Starlight get here?" she asked.
"Never mind that! I've got something else. to tell you." he picked up the cell phone and gave it to Twilight. "This came about an hour ago, it's like it appeared out of nowhere!" said Spike.
Twilight held it in her shaking hands, sweat beads were filling out her forehead, it was like having a heart attack. "How did these things get-" something hit the ground and they looked to see what looked like a small plastic case that read, Power Girls "Oh no.....not again."
"Power Girls? Please give me Power Ponies any day." This remark earned him an angry look from Twilight. "But, I'll take what I can get." he laughed nervously.
"Twilight what's going on? Why are these things popping up?" asked Starlight.
"I don't know..." soon she heard a burp.
"Looks like Princess Celestia responded." he said as he opened the letter.
"Dear Twilight, you are needed in Canterlot immediately, strange objects have been appearing all over Equestria, I apologize for not responding to your previous letter but I had to deal with these sudden occurrences while I could. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, Princess Celestia
"All over Equestria?!" exclaimed Twilight. "But......how is this possible? The Portal is here!"
"Maybe another portal opened?" said Starlight. "I mean there doesn't have to be just one."
"That's.......a really good point." said Twilight. Why would there be just one portal?"
"Or maybe someone opened a portal?" said Spike in fear. "But who would open a portal?"
Starlight pondered about this possibility, it both amazed her and terrified her. Who would open a portal to another dimension? More importantly? Who was powerful enough to do that? Dimension magic took an awful amount of energy to pull off, all she could do was a small window to another country!
"Maybe Celestia knows who's causing this, whenever there's a problem, she always knows the culprit." said Twilight.
"Is it wrong that I say Discord did this?" asked Spike crossing his arms. "I mean this has his claw-writing allover it." While the girls forgave Discord, Spike wasn't so forgiving, especially during the battle against Tirek.
"I don't even know if Discord can do something this scale in power," Said Twilight. While he can open portals to another dimension, it's possible he doesn't even know of Canterlot High.
"Well in any case you should go to Canterlot. Me and Spike will stay in Ponyville to make sure no strange things pop up." said Starlight. "The less CHS devices appearing the better."
After what seemed like an hour of packing, (and double, double, double, checking) Twilight put on her cloak and headed to the train station. Surprisingly news spread quickly, ponies were talking about the items from another world. I gotta find out what's causing this. she thought. But first, I need to have Celestia change me back. She got on the train and enjoyed the ride to the castle.
After the train ride she made her way to the castle. "And when I got near it, music came out of nowhere! It sounded it like it came from Kind Sombra!" said a colt.
"Look at these letters on these buttons, who would make buttons this small?" said a mare
Okay I really have to find out who or what is causing this. thought the Princess of Friendship. As she made her way to the castle she saw what looked like a carriage made of crystal. Cadence and Shining are here too? This may be bigger than I thought, why can't it be small threat like the bearbug? Twilight complained in her head. She soon made her way to the throne room, but was a little out of breath due to the stairs. This was so much easier with two legs!
She soon entered the throne room to see Princess Celestia , Princess Luna and Cadence talking to each other about the current events. "Have the guards noticed anything going on?" asked Clestia.
"I haven't received any word from the squad we sent out. At least some of our men will keep the peace while this....situation develops the answer." said Luna.
"Um....excuse me, Princess?" Cadence lit up as she heard the voice.
"Twilight!" she said excitedly. She galloped toward her sister-in-law and hugged her. "It's so good to see you, but....why are you taller than me?" she asked.
"Heh, it's kind of a long story." said Twilight.
"I'm afraid that story will have to wait." said Luna. "Hello Twilight, it is great to see you out of your, as you say it "funk"." said the night Princess. She sounded kind of.....sad, for some odd reason
"Thank you Princess Luna." said Twilight as she removed her hood. "What's wrong?"
"Spike told me of your present situation." said Princess Celestia. Like her sister her voice was sad....almost heartbroken.
"I was hoping you could change me back." Said Twilight "I think being a unicorn could better help me in this situation, I can probably help seal portals." she said.
Soon the hurt expression on Celestia grew. "I.....I'm sorry Twilight." the words were heavy with sadness.
"W-what do you mean?" said Twilight with her voice breaking, she felt her knees starting to wobble and tears sting her eyes.
"I'm afraid changing you back, is beyond even my power."

Twilight felt herself hit the floor, knees first. The tears flowing from her eyes profusely. "I am so sorry my student." said Celestia as she walked to the violet teenager, hugging her with her wing.
"I'm stuck like this?" she said through tears. Twilight felt completely devastated,more then when Discord almost won. "How can I help without magic? I mean I'm the Element of Magic, I've done so many things with my magic." she said.
"And we are thankful for everything you've done. But you are not as powerless as you seem." said Luna.
Hearing this Twilight lit up but only slightly. "Huh?" as she stopped her purple skin shone due to the tears. "I'm not powerless?"
"Yes....I believe that you still retain your magic, but it is unknown how." she said with a mix of wisdom and curiosity.
Twilight stood up with hope in her eyes. I still have a chance to change back!!!
"So that means she can change herself back? Why can't we get Discord to help her?" asked Cadence.
"While you do put up a good point, not even Discord knows of the Other World. And we have kept it like this for as long as we can remember." said Luna. "He may cause more mayhem to that world than he realizes."
"You still haven't answered my question Aunt Luna." said Cadence. "Can she change herself back?"
"That remains uncertain." said Luna.
"We must focus on the task at hand and try to figure out why these objects are appearing in Equestria." said Celestia.
"Careful princess...." said a voice. "Thinking too much can get you into trouble." Soon the throne room doors flew open causing the Princesses to jump in surprise, the guards held aimed their spears at the culprit, but they were blown back by a shield spell.
"Who dares to attack us!?" demanded Celestia. "Show yourself you coward!" A laugh emerged, as if this pony was taunting Celestia. Soon hoofsteps were heard as the echoed in the room. "Luna, Cadence protect Twilight." she ordered. Her sister and her niece obeyed and got in front of the young girl, horns glowing.
"Protecting her won't save her." said the voice. "Not from what's going to happen at least." the source of the voice came from what looked like a unicorn mare, with a green coat, ice blue eyes, and an onyx mane which looked a bit like Twilight's timid friend only frizzier, her cutie mark looked like a small nebula with a black sun in the middle. "It is an honor to meet the famous Princesses of Equestria." the mysterious mare said as she smirked. "I am Cosmia Vox."
The princesses stared at the mare with discontent and anticipation, as if they were expecting either soldiers or an attack. "Do you know her Aunt Celestia?" asked Cadence, her answer was met with an eerie silence.
"Oh she doesn't know me," smirked Cosmia. "she doesn't even know I existed, just like your own subjects."
"I may not know you, but I care for everyone of my subjects." Celestia stated.
"Then where were you during Nightmare Moon's return, or Discord's revival, the Crystal Empire's return.....the spreading of the Everfree Forest? Need I say more?" said Cosmia, as she walked toward the Princesses. "You stay here in this castle than do anything. How do they expect a princess like you to give a flying feather about her subjects if she doesn't leave?"
Celestia stared at the mare, she could feel her blood boil with rage. "I try to defend this kingdom, and I will protect it from you!" she exclaimed. Never had she been more angry than she was right now, who was this pony to judge her? She had a lot of nerve to come here and attack.
"We have more important matters to attend to sister, I apologize ms Vox but we'll play with you some other time."
"More power for me I suppose." this statement caused the princesses eyes to widen.
"You are causing this?!" said Cadence.
"What ever gave it away?" said Cosmia with sarcasm. "I would tell you the details, but I can't right now." she began to walk out but stopped and smirked, her eyes hovering towards Twilight. "I must say I love that new look of your Princess Twilight." Twilight just stared back in horror. "I may try it on myself one of these days." she said as she walked out of the throne room.
The Princesses eased up after she left. "At least we know the cause of these objects..." said Cadence. "But why is she doing this? It can't just be for power."
"It is for power, "said Celestia. "But what she is planning is unknown, we must be ready for anything."
An enemy that Princess Celestia doesn't know? Is that possible? Oh wait....Starlight "How does she know what I am, more importantly-"
"How does she know of the alternate world?" said Luna. "She must have opened some sort of portal to this world....albeit a small one if these objects keep appearing."
"Well try as she can, I'll stop her!" Twilight said.
"I'm afraid you can't Twilight..without your magic, you are defenseless." warned Celestia.
"Oh." Twilight sighed.
"But I want you to find out what she's planning, Your student Starlight will assist you in your task."
"Yes Princess Celsestia." said Twilight as she bowed. While she didn't have magic, at least she could be useful somehow. She left for the train to Ponyville.
"Sister....do you think we can face whatever Cosmia Vox is planning?" asked Luna.
Celestia simply sighed and looked out the window. "Even I do not know."

"And that's the story." said Twilight after she explained the events of what happened at the castle. Spike and Starlight were in shock, and who could blame them?
"So.....she can actually open a portal to and from Canterlot High?" said Spike. "How is that possible?" Spike didn't know much about magic but he knew it must have taken a lot of power to create a portal.
"I don't know, one thing's for sure she wants something. And she'll destroy our world and Canterlot High to get it." said Twilight.
Starlight thought about for a second and spoke up. "What if she wants power? Does CHS have magic?" she asked her mentor.
"It doesn't........at least.......not anymore." said the violet teenager nervously. This earned a raised eyebrow from Starlight and nervous glare from Spike who motioned a zipper closing on his mouth.
"What do you mean not anymore?" asked Starlight.
"I may have.....sort of....brought magic into that world by mistake.......okay I didn't bring it but I at least stopped it, twice!" defended Twilight.
Starlight face hoofed at this, as if these objects weren't enough, now another world has magic, when it wasn't suppose too. "That doesn't matter right now, we just have to stop Cosmia." said Starlight. "
"You can....I can't." said Twilight sadly. "I might get in the way if you ever fight her." she at there for a few seconds but the her face lit up. "Or maybe I can!" she said, she got up from the books ( then she fixed the books she was sitting in) and went to the bookshelf, looking for anything under the U category. It has to be here. she thought as her eyes darted rapidly across the shelf. Here it is! She took out a book set it on the floor.
Spike blew the dust off and saw the title. "Urban Legends of Equestia?" The baby dragon raised a scaly eyebrow. "Twilight, you know these things are myths right?"
"So was Nightmare Moon and she attacked remember?" said Twilight. "And for the longest time you believed in Sea Ponies."
Spike almost looked embarrassed. "It was one time!" he defended.
"What are you looking for?" asked Starlight.
"I read somewhere that once there was a pony that used magic, without a horn." said the purple teenager. "Maybe I can use magic without a horn too."
"Twilight that's a myth." said Spike. "It's an awesome one but it's just that."
"What choice do I have? It may be a myth but it has to be true." said Twilight. "It's my last chance at getting my magic back."
Spike simply sighed. "I just don't want you to go on a wild goose chase." he said. "Or a Pinkie chase."
"That was one time Spike." said Twilight as she face palmed. "And we said to never talk about that."
"Sorry, but I know that the No Horned Magician is a myth." said Spike.
"We could go for a logical route." said Starlight, her head glanced to the mirror. "How about the portal?"
"What about the portal?"
"She can use it to go back to Canterlot High, and after a few seconds, she goes back to Equestria," explained Starlight. "If I'm right, she'll change back."
"Use the portal? What if Cosmia finds out!?" yelled a worried Spike.
"Spike she can only create portals not sense them." sighed Twilight. "But I'm not so sure the portal is safe to use yet."
"Better than a myth." said Starlight.
"We can't waste time!!" Spike shouted. "We have to find a way to stop Cosmia!!!"
"Stop me?" a voice chuckled. "There's no hope of stopping me." The group turned their heads to see what looked like a teenage girl sitting on a stool with ebony hair and.....emerald skin
"Cosmia!?" Twilight's eyes went as wide as dinner plates.
"I must say I enjoy this form quite well." Cosmia said as she got up examining her outfit. she wore torn jeans and what looked like a green hoodie with a blue undershirt. "What do you think, Princess Twilight?" Twilight just stood there but then she couldn't help but chuckle.
"Too bad for you Cosmia, you kind of beat yourself."
Cosmia's face still retained it's cold unfeeling smile as she got up. "I beat my self did I?" she said. She simply walked towards the group. "I'm afraid not." She lifted her hand and suddenly a bright flash appeared, there was Cosmia but she was in pony form. "I've studied transformation spells longer than anyone." she said as she walked around them. "And there is a reason why I want the power from these portals, I just don't wish to spoil it."
She can change form?! thought Twilight. "What are the portals for?" asked Twilight.
"Oh they're a hobby." said Cosmia as she walked to the Portal. "I haven't seen this in a long time."
"S-stay away from it!" said Spike as he ran in front of her and the mirror.
Cosmia simply lifted the dragon with her horn and set him aside. "Impressive machinery Twilight, primitive but oh well." she put her hoof on the glass causing it to ripple. "Did you know I found the mirror first?"

"You know for someone who can create small portals to another world, you are very bad at lying." said Spike as he crossed his arms. "The Princess found the mirror." Cosmia ignored him as she stroked the glass, the ripples distorting the reflection of her like water.
"She was the second, Celestia." said Cosmia. She then put her hoof in the mirror, on the other side, an emerald hand replaced it. "Oh the memories....I use to visit the mirror after my school days." she removed the limb from the mirror. Her cold eyes remained dead center on the mirror. "When Celestia took it I was desperate to get it back, but then I realized I couldn't simply steal it. She probably had some protection spells around it." she finally broke her glance and stared at the trio. "Then I found a book by a certain unicorn."
Twilight looked puzzled for a moment but soon she had a look of realization. "Starswirl the Bearded." she said almost whispering. Cosmia looked back with the sinister looking smile.
"Very good Princess." chuckled Cosmia as her horn began to glow and soon her other form stood where her pony form was. "It took a while to restore the pages but I succeeded." Twilight was kind of jealous (and amazed) that Cosmia found a lost book before she did. "I learned some interesting spells but I was still obsessed with that portal. I couldn't sleep peacefully without it haunting my mind."
"But how are you able to open a portal to Canterlot High?" asked Spike.
"A portal spell of course, but it takes so much energy trying to break the barriers." replied Cosmia. "The first time I did it two years ago, I was practically in a one month coma."
Barriers? thought Twilight.
"What do you mean by Barriers?" asked Starlight.
"The barriers between our world of course." replied the emerald unicorn. "Lets say that this book is a barrier." she said grabbing an old dusty book. "On this side we have our world and on this the other world, you "Canterlot High"." she pointed to the her left to represent Equestria and her right to represent Canterlot High. "As I open more portals the barriers weaken." Then she opened the book and had the papers represent the portals, she then had a sinister smile. "But I'll let you put the pieces together, what fun is there in telling you if I don't see your reactions."
"I will stop you." said Twilight "If I've defeated Nightmare Moon and Tirek, I'll beat you as well."
"I've heard that said a million times in storybooks, ugh No wonder you are so close with Celestia." said Cosmia with annoyance in her voice, she proceeded to walk out. "If you actually get the gall to stop me, "Princess". She held the book up and the book was set ablaze.
Twilight's jaw dropped as she saw her precious tome caught on fire. Now she was more determined to stop this monster, plus she burnt her favorite math book!
"I'll make sure you regret it." said Cosmia as she left the castle.
Minutes after Cosmia left, Twilight was working on the mirror, it was a lot harder with hands instead of hooves. plus she kept scratching herself on the metal and wires in the machine. "Come on......come on....." she said to herself.
Spike sat next to her handing her tools to fix the mirror. "So you think Starlight's theory will be right?"
Twilight put the finishing touches on the machine and closed the panel. "We're about to find out." she said. With a few flipping of switches and the pressing of buttons the portal came to life as the glass began to glow with a warm, almost welcoming light. "Cross your claws." she said as she stood in front of the portal. She set herself up like a runner and bolted into the mirror, as her body touched the glass, a familiar sensation engulfed her. She then found her way to the other side of the glass, she opened her eyes to see concrete steps leading to a row of doors, above the door was a mosaic of a stallion rearing its body upward, she was at Canterlot High. No matter how many times I see this, I still get goosebumps. She realized that it looked a little....bigger.
"Wait......" she looked down to see a foreleg covered in purple fur....her heart sank to her stomach.
