Twilight Sparkle has spent months researching chaos magic, developing a new spell to unlock magic nopony has ever experienced before. But when something goes wrong with casting, Twilight finds herself turned into a Draconequus and unable to control her new chaos magic. If she ever wants to be a pony again, there is only one who can help her learn to control her new magic.

Of course, learning from Discord was never going to be simple. And after a while, being a draconequus doesn't seem so bad anyway....

Set directly after the Tirek incident, Fluttershy and Discord are suffering, alone and apart. Fluttershy may have forgiven him, but she feels that she has failed her friend, and longs to understand Discord. Why wasn't she good enough, why did he betray them? Why hadn't he cherished their friendship as much as she had?

Discord, on the other hand, struggles from the pain of his own guilt, and doesn't even know who he is anymore. He doesn't want to lose the closest friend he has either, but he's positive that their relationship will never be the same again. He can't stand it.

They're falling apart, and the magic of the earth isn't happy about it. Then a cloaked stranger comes into the picture, and plants a mysterious flower...

Fluttershy only utters a simple request. "I wish I could understand you, Discord..."

Little does she know that such a wish entails much more than just an understanding...and her wish is granted in the most chaotic of ways--and the only one who can help her is the very friend she is trying to understand.

Jelly Bean is an oddity among ponies, her body consists entirely of goo. It is a mystery that has puzzled the best doctors in Canterlot for years. Because of this, Princess Celestia feels it would be best for her to get a break from her hectic and stressful life in Canterlot and sends her to Ponyville.

Meanwhile in Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle receives a letter from Princess Celestia saying she will receive a package during the day.

This story is a sequel to Discord's Family Reunion

Equestria has been taken over by a radical young unicorn claiming her "dragon-kind" have been oppressed. It's a race against time for Twilight and her friends to stop Night Ember and save Equestria before an evil spell takes over the Princess. Not only that, but they'll have to overcome their new scaly form before they can use the Elements of Harmony again.
