The royal court of Canterlot welcomes its newest member with open forelegs: the human philosopher Voltaire, from Earth.

On Earth, Voltaire is known as the greatest enemy of tyranny in the history of literature, and a legend in his own mind.

On Equestria, the court betting pool is giving him a week before the Princess banishes him to the Moon.

Note: This story doesn't have sequels per se, but there are a couple of short follow-ups set in the present day ("Parade Coverage" and "Secret Histories"), and a prequel of sorts in "At the Inn of the Prancing Pony".

The P.E.R. - Ponification for the Earth's Rebirth is a rogue organization that forcibly converts humans into ponies. They are reviled by those who oppose the Conversion Bureaus and denounced by Celestia Herself - but they see themselves as knights of Equestria, following a higher cause. Michelson is a Knight of the P.E.R. Morely is a Squire. Together, they'll ponify the world.

This is the story of the end. This is the story of the death of Equestria. It is the story of the reign of her royal majesty, Princess Twilight Sparkle of the Fading Sun.

The alicorn sisters are dead and Equestria has turned to Twilight Sparkle to guide it. However, just maintaining a dim sun a fraction as bright as her mentor's keeps the new princess near her limits.

For her crimes, she is sentenced to community service.

Summoned by a human obsessed unicorn Lyra, Otto von Bismarck appears in Equestria. The ever calm Iron Chancellor befriends many Ponies and encounters many new foes, all while trying to contain the power of his magical Pickelhaube, enchanted by the sinister lord of chaos himself - Discord.

In hopes of wreaking more wonderful chaos, said draconequus summons Montezuma, the Aztec Emperor. The man quickly starts to believe that Trixie is a goddess. Will Lyra and the moustached German Chancellor prevail against the evil forces of the egoistic showmare and her bloodthirsty servant, or will the whole Equestria drown in disharmony? Only time can tell, and the clock is right in Discord's left hand.

Usually when you are killed, you die. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. Usually those exceptions don't end up in a world full of colorful talking ponies with 3 other people from random points of Earth's history, but hey, I can't complain too much. Twilight is an intelligent mare, and always has something to say. But when a group of bizarre creatures shows up at her library offering life long service and devotion, for once she's at a loss for words. Which is too bad, because she'd really love to ask: what's a human and why are they so weird?
