Policy for stories: finish first, publish later. Well, except for my first one. That was a...shall we say, experiment.

A year in review... · 10:43pm Dec 31st, 2013

First off, happy New Year's Eve, everyone! Hope you don't party too hard tonight, hehe.

It's been exactly one year since I started this account. Dec 31, 2012, the day (or night, rather) that I went onto this site and created this user page before you. And it's certainly been an interesting 365 days since then...let's look at some stats, eh?

Amazing music from games/films I've played/seen

(Arranged from most spirit-rousing to most feels-inducing)

Hell March - Command and Conquer: Red Alert

Onwards - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Future Wars - Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

English War Theme (Based on 'I Vow To Thee, My Country') - Civilization V

Redline Marching Song - Metro: Last Light

Piano Theme - Metro: Last Light

Ranger Ending Theme - Metro 2033

It's Mutated - Contagion

In The House, In a Heartbeat - 28 Days Later

Running After My Fate - The Divide

Into Sunset - Metro: Last Light

Music from war- and post-apocalyptic-themed things are always the most intense :yay:

The most epic piece of music ever. It's so incredible that it deserves a box to its own.

Soviet March - Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

A Q&A with myself

Is this a good idea? It seems slightly egotistical...
Can the talk; just read those questions.
Ach, fine...
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.
A: I'm a first-generation Canadian teen, with Chinese heritage, currently busy with his latter years of high school.

Q: How did you 'join the herd', so to speak?
A: I suppose it's the standard tale: my friend first got involved with FiM and then told me about it. Initially I chuckled and dismissed it, but curiosity got ahold and, one night, I went on Youtube and clicked on S1E1 - admittedly, to "see how bad it was".

Q: But then...?
A: But then I get some insane supervillian bent on bringing about eternal night and dooming the world to an icy frozen grave! That was what sold the series to me - the very first episode defied my expectations.

Q: Describe yourself in three words. Go.
A: Logical, strategic, slightly crazy.

...that was four words.
Three phrases. Same thing.

Q: Right, sure. Moving on: what else do you do besides school and FiM?
A: Read, play piano, play video games, browse the interwebz.

Q: Last question. Who is best pony?
A: Nightmare Moon/Princess Luna and Twilight Sparkle are best ponies!

(It's Civ V, in case you're wondering.)

Given the way most of my Civilization games go, those two nukes were probably launched by me. :pinkiecrazy:
And that lovely picture Twilight's staring at? That's the Defeat screen.

I'm one of the rare people who doesn't have cable TV and still relies on analog. The only two channels I can get are the local network and CTV. :rainbowlaugh:
But I don't mind; Youtube and movies from the public library do more than enough to make up for it.

My second-favourite colour is probably blue.

My favourite flavour of ice cream is mint chocolate chip.

I watch only one other TV show aside from My Little Pony on a regular basis: Mystery Science Theater 3000, which has been off the air for almost 15 years.
Occasionally I go on Corner Gas binges.
