OK, so, it turns out that I've been taking things a bit too seriously. I'll be lightening up from here on out. Sorry for going a little too straight for the original zany flavor lately, so I'll stop pushing the whole 'Twi needs help' angle and be a bit sillier. This'll be the last serious letter for awhile I think.

To my most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle,
I'm so very happy to hear things should hopefully be on the mend. I do know Ponyville is a little colorful at times, and I know everything won't be all better right away. Remember you have a lot of ponies willing to support and help you. Thank you for the letter Twilight, and keeping me up to date. It is my pleasure to help.
I look forward to hearing your next lesson on friendship, or even just letter saying 'hello'!

Heaviness leavened with comedy is still funny.
(I've been quite good with the direction things have been moving. However, of all the times to change, this is one of the better ones. After all, there's now a logical in-universe explanation for why Twilight went so nuts... perfect time for her to go back to being adorable, socially awkward, bookhorse.)
Honestly with some of the shit he's throwing at you I don't see how your responses could have been any different. Honestly Twilight killing herself with a cloning spell or killing someone else by having her soul latch onto them isn't funny, its just dark.
Noo.... Please don't resort to silliness in Celestia's responses, at least when she is speaking to Twilight. The beauty of the comedy is the duality... Anon coming up with the zany explanations of what's going on, following by Celestia's worry about the mental state of her student. It's not like she doesn't have cause for worry, just look at the descent of Sunset Shimmer into egomaniacal mania.
A little bit of wit when talking directly to Pinkie or Anon works fine, though, between Anon's personal messages to Celestia in his post scripts usually being a bit more serious and Pinkie being, well, Pinkie.

Twilight's soul latched onto a corpse so the mule(?) had already died and she was merely desecrating his corpse. See that's much better; isn't it?
To be honest I enjoyed Celestia being the straight... Pony. It made the jokes anon did all the more funny. We have Anon being Anon and here we have Celestia treating it all as if it was all a normal every day occurrence.
I'm not planning on going full tilt spongebob everypony, just more light-hearted like earlier chapters.
I appreciate both the more serious turn and the return to shenanigans. This was just enough of a heavier tone to ground the fic, and now it can take off to return to more ridiculous heights.
All caught up. Honestly I thought Celestia having to ...."Oh crapbaskets" from time to time is what makes the exchange really fun to read. Fun part is when Twilight goes off the rails and Anon is like.....

There's really no point in going needlessly grimdark. If Twighost was inclined to posses the living there's no reason why she would go all the way over to some random mule's house instead of just jumping to the nearest body. The easiest explanation is that he was the nearest body that didn't still have a soul in residence.
I don't think it was too much, personally. I mean, the run-up was too much if you think about it! In a saner world, she would've been committed by letter #22, for fuck's sake!
I think this needs a proper story - at some point there should be a spin-off about the daily life behind these letters... Just... wow.

I think it's fine the way it is, because it allows us to participate in imagining the context behind the story, while making sure they don't go overboard with detail and ruin the humor.

I like the story so far for the same reasons why alot of people like mlp ( i think ) its because its played completely straight, its as if someone asked "Hey so what if magical ponyland was a real thing but they had to deal with the problems using actual solutions instead of using solutions that won't work but pretending they do?"
