From HRH High Beams, RE: Letter 96

Author's Note:

Letter 96: Here.
For the record, Celestia does have her own stipend paid out for personal expenditures like this.

Dear Anon,

Please find enclosed an enchanted tablet along with an apology note. I would like you to deliver this to the colt or filly mentioned in the letter sent to me. I would normally entrust this to Twilight but I suspect she might get distracted with the enchantments again and forget to actually pass it on.

Since I know you'll be curious, the tablet is a somewhat more expensive magic item available to ponies which allows the user to visualize media that they otherwise would not be able to, if they lose their sight. The sand will raise itself into an image that a pony can explore with either the frog of their hooves, or our noses. No, the sand will not go flying off when said nose gets used.

This isn't the first time either I or Ms. Velvet have had to give a secondary gift to make up for one of Twilight's.

Your friend,
Celestia

To my most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle,

While your intent was correct and it is sweet of you to want to share one of your gifts and passions with another pony, the point of 'treating everyone equally' describes treating them with the same measure of respect, kindness, generosity, and willingness to acknowledge their status as equal to yours. It does not mean you cannot or should not acknowledge difficulties or differences, merely that they are not lesser for them. Remember, it is never wrong to be considerate when you can be, especially when giving gifts. Perhaps you might discuss this with your friend, Rarity?

Your loving mentor,
Princess Celestia

Translated from Equestrian Standard Braille

To my dear little pony,

I'd like to apologize on behalf of my student. She means well but doesn't think things through very well. I have included a little 'part two' of her gift, so that you may enjoy it in the spirit it was given. Simply place the tablet smooth-side down against an open book or paper. Words will be raised either in standard Equestrian or Braille (there's a switch on the side), and pictures will be translated to a physical representation along the surface of the rough side.

I'm sorry it wasn't there by your birthday, my little pony.
A friend.
