Happy new year!
Letter 106: Here.
Dear Stu,
You are, of course, forgiven for such an oversight, and it is always a pleasure to hear from you, and to know you are having fun and making friends. I admittedly have not played Ogres and Oubliettes myself, though I have overheard retellings of various games. Perhaps I should see about finding a game myself? I'm not entirely sure what I would play, however. Do you have any thoughts on the matter, my little changeling? I'm merely curious.
I do hope your time in Ponyville is leaving you content, comfortable, and as safe as Ponyville permits.
You know, perhaps if you enjoy the idea of being a healer enough you could take a first-aid course? Equestrian hospitals give lessons on first aid covered by the crown in most circumstances. If it fits well, you might look into healing as an occupation, but you are of course under no obligation. I am simply encouraging you to explore possibilities you may be interested in.
Wishing you well,
HRH Celestia.
Dear Anon,
Apropos of nothing, and with absolutely no context: You are a good person. Keep being so.
Your friend,
Tia.

As always getting to enjoy these letter between the two of you is a real treat so thank you.
Aww, how sweet.
Stu and medical care seem like a dangerous combination. That's a lot of sharp edges and carefully measured chemicals... though I suppose just first aid would reduce the possibility of mishaps.
Not eliminate, mind you, but certainly reduce.
Better keep that letter handy as proof. Because no one will ever believe it.
If it’s possible for Anon to feel warm and fuzzy inside, he must be feeling it now.
Well either that or he’s doing his best Senor Chang impersonation.

Fillies and gentlecolts, Celestia's thought pattern.
Besides, for all she knows changeling magic might be weirdly good for healing. Or pants-wettingly terrible, but she's confident in Ponyville General's capabilities.
This, the sister story, and this have moved Celery Tea Ass' default animation from doing governmental paperwork to writing to dozens of penpals met under various circumstances.
The Royal Intelligence Corps serves as a double-check on the information recieved thus.
I love Celestia's reply to Stu. However, I don't get her letter to Anon.
10021602
From Stu's letter on the other fic:
10021634
Yep!
10021634
I still don't get the connection.
10021458
Of course she is Twilight Hasn't caused them all to throw in the towel yet
10022048
Celestia is the eternal optimist and believes Anon is genuinely helping and watching out for Stu. Since Celestia has a soft spot for the changeling, this made her feel warm and fuzzy and want to headpat the resident smartass.
10022171
Oh, okay. Thank you for that explanation.
Goes to show you don't need to be nice to be good.
10021388
I believe Kris Overstreet put it best in Changeling Space Program: “There’s nothing more terrifying than a changeling with good intentions.”
10022171
I'm saving this quote for later

In a way, he is. Anon is an equal-opportunity offender, in a sense, but he'll also look out for everyone and everything threatened while he's there. Yes, he's making light of the guy, but that doesn't mean he doesn't look out for him. Older siblings tend to be a perfect example of this dynamic - you may hate them for how asshole'y they are, but you know they've got your back when push comes to shove. In most cases, anyway.
Fun fact: creatures tend to have this instinct to care for smaller creatures, especially when these smaller creatures are entertaining or lovable (and I use the term 'smaller' loosely, because taking care of a dumb giant also tends to fall under this heading - as evidenced by Purple Disaster here, no less). Stu clearly falls under the former heading, for Anon. ;] Yes, it's condescending as all fuck (hello, Celestia! ;D)... but the protection is real.

I would love a Sith protagonist the way you describe. But that would be even more risky for Disney than overhauling the Jedi, so it's definitely not happening.
I just wish I could... you know... get KOTOR to run on my computer. I'm not going to be able to buy old hardware to play it.
10040800
You might have to virtual box it.
10039993
Yup. My own brother fit under this category perfectly.
It wasn't that he necessarily antagonized me often, but he constantly found me annoying (often for good reason). But even while he despised me to the point of actively sabotaging potential friends (seriously), he couldn't stand if anyone was directly antagonistic to me, even if standing up for me was definitely not advantageous for him.
10040802
My problem is that my CPU, while a great CPU in general, does not have virtualization capability. So while I can get some emulators to run, they have severe difficulty, and some features will not work, period.
BlueStacks (an android emulator) will barely work, but it is intensive for barely any result.
I could probably run a desktop environment, but playing games probably won't be that fun.
I might be able to set up a partition and have another bootable drive (I already have Linux and Windows 10 on different drives), but I don't know if my modern hardware will even be recognized. I've heard a lot of older OSes will actually freeze up with newer hardware. Not to mention drivers are likely nonexistent.
10040819
What are you on, an ARM?
Basically every x86-64-compatible CPU should include some form of virtualisation at this point, so unless your CPU is like 15 years old or older...
What the hell do you have in that box of yours? :D Give us the CPU and motherboard spec (brand and model number if laptop), maybe you can fit something else (preferably off of eBay for cheap) into that frame?
10041353
I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X. Definitely not old.
Now, it could be possible that I just haven't figured out the arcane way to enable virtualization, but the option is completely absent from my BIOS.
Edit: If you really need my motherboard specs, just tell me, but I'd have to go searching in my filing cabinet for the exact model.
10041855
Or, you can use a program like Speccy (if you're on Windows; on Linux you'll probably need to find a similar program that works for your distro) to read it off the board directly. ;)
From what I can find, you may need to enable "Secure Virtual Machine (SVM)" in your SETUP (the program that's usually confused for the BIOS ;P).
If you're under Windows 10, you may also need to disable these two features: "Hyper-V", "Windows Hypervisor Platform". The way I understand it is - something is starting Hyper-V, and it's blocking the 'direct' route to it. You may also need to check out "Core isolation" and "Memory integrity" under Windows Defender.
Please try these out one at a time (the Windows Defender settings are generally a security feature, so you may want to keep them on) and see if it helps. By my feeling, the SVM option (seems to be disabled by default, only the Nine know why) may have the biggest impact.
10042471
Ahh, thank you.
10043397
Do let me know if any of it works. Feedback is important (especially considering that I intend to move over to Ryzen at some point in the... hopefully near future).
10043507
If you could just send me a PM real quick, it will remind me automatically, since I can leave it unread until I have the opportunity to check. (I'm in the middle of a semi-productive day of writing, so I don't want to restart my computer just yet.)
I just finished binge reading this and "Dear Princess Sunbutt" and I've been loving both and can't wait for future updates.

Welcome to Horseland, where people are either fucktarded or ingenious.

WAKE UP!
Haven't seen your writing in a while, miss you on the site, and hope you doing okay.
10070883
I'm just stressed irl. I do plan to catch up when my stress dies down a bit.
10071318
Okay, I know how that goes. Wish you well and hope you're feeling better soon.
After the latest surge of chapters from the other side of this dual fic, I'm suspecting Tia really wants to respond with a panicked message to Sunset begging her to come back now
she's tired of dealing with all this purple.10081550
Knowing the writers if sunset does come back it’ll most like turn from purple and pseudo-sociopathic to orange with enough angst to make an emo teen look preppy.
10071318
Best of luck to you, and know that we're looking forward to your return when you're healthy and ready.
Hey, Snow.
It's been over two months now, you ok?
I'm starting to worry for you
Does nobody use avatars anymore?
10109864
Surprised that was good compared to that other travesty that became a meme.
10157220
There's really only one way I can respond to bring us back to where we began.
