Also, it occurs to me that the chapter title might be a bit confusing, or I might not be as clever as I think I am. 1 / 2.5 = 0.4

To my faithful student, Twilight Sparkle,

Twilight, you have a lovely singing voice but that does not mean that you should skip out on the time and effort needed to train that voice in order to match reality to theory, but I am pleased you are trying new things and hobbies. I do understand the desire to pursue more relevant interests, however, and I assure you that at least you sound pleasant enough during a heart-song.

When you take into account all the random songs they make during the episodes , they have both a great voice and a bloody great imagination/coordination to create lyrics and coordinate em with everyone else !

A very long running fan theory is that such occurrences are the result of friendship/Harmony magic responding to a pony's strong feelings about something by having them sing about it and then bringing the surrounding ponies together into a collective unit by having them provide backup vocals or choreography. According to the theory, everything from how well they sing, how well the singing and dancing is all synchronized, right down to the instrumental accompaniment is the result of this burst of harmony magic, which many fans have come to call a 'Heart Song'. It leads to some interesting implications, for example given the nature of the ability demonstrated by the sirens from Rainbow Rocks, the conclusion could be drawn that their stones allow them to draw in the harmony magic from around them and use it to perform a Heart Song at will and control the effect it has on those that hear it.
