Yay spitballing magical mechanics.

Dear Anon,

I applaud your quick thinking and agree that logically that would have worked, if a shrinking potion actually reduced the size of something rather than compressed the afflicted area and used an ongoing magical effect to 'trick' the mass into behaving as if it were the appropriate amount. Always read the warning labels and do not use any potion with which you are not intimately familiar without a practiced potioneer on standby.

Good intention, terrible execution. Better luck next time.

Not every idea is a good one and even a slight miscalculation or misunderstanding on the part of a spellcaster can turn a good idea into a bad idea. As you well know.

I am pleased to hear miss Trixie will be well, and in the future perhaps research her stage magic a bit more thoroughly. Casting a spell to achieve an effect and making ponies think you cast a spell when you didn't are very different, and are difficult in their own ways.

PS. I do hope you realize this was a case of misunderstanding a magical effect rather than a problem inherent in, say, one's origin.

Oh gosh , I always forget that "canon" and "cannon" are completely different things . Proof is I still don't know perfectly which one is which (pretty sure the one with a single N is the weapon) because of my non-English origins .

There was nothing in the original letter that implied his idea failed. Only that the whole leg shrank. So, it actually worked but by shrinking the leg instead of just the wound.

The original thrives on the characters just being batshit insane and lolrandom. I don't know why people find it funny at all.

I cant speak for others, but the reason i find it funny is that it has stchik and does it well, its a world where twilight and the elements lack common sense and each of their flaws and amped ten fold. Then you have anon who is the straight man who the jokes are often played against. Now if this was all it was then id agree with you, but instead of just having anon be the common sense straightman of all the jokes he makes plenty of his own jokes to amuse himself, and generally yhe relationship between anon and luna is a bit of a motivation to keep on reading. Now i imagine your question was rhetorical or you were just wanting someone to agree with you. Either way here's my unwanted awnser.
