Twilight had planned to visit Sunset Shimmer and her friends over in the other world for a nice, quiet weekend, away from all the worries and problems associated with being a Princess of Equestria. Unfortunately, things rarely go as planned.
After an accident cuts her off from Equestria, Twilight finds herself stuck in the human world until the gateway between the two worlds can be fixed. Which wouldn't normally be a problem...
...If she wasn't still a pony.

I think that Twilight is also a bit smaller then she would normally be. I would but her normally about 3 and a half feet tall normally but now she is in fun sized! This will allow her to get into all sorts of trouble very easily while being able to easily hide if necessary. Great story will be tracking!
Yes, take my money!!!! Take my internets... hell take my pants! I love the concept of this story. With the upcoming official My Little Pony movie taking place sometime in 2017 (according to the wikia) this is everything I ever wanted.
Edit: Whew, now that I actually read it, nothing ultimately changed other than the supremely epic chapter being expanded on. I normally wait till things are done, but I tend to make exceptions for really well done summaries of stories I couldn't wait for. Not a lot of authors can do that.
Is there an underlying action segment that is going to happen as Twilight learns to adapt to the human world... this time as a pony instead of a human? Or am I reading too much into the plotline? I shall track, favorite and all that happy stuff.
I hope to read more from this soon... but I think you should consider adding a action adventure setting where some government suits try to examine Twilight and the Humane 6 should protect her. But whatever your plans for the story work too, I just read way WAY too many of the genre and like stories of this nature.

I don't know if hiding your non-transformation is a good move, Twilight. If magical repair is needed for the portal, not knowing something that important could cause... problems.
Yeah, I'd be as surprised as Sunset, I guess. I figured ponies were about doberman-sized. Considering that Equestria has trees, cows, dogs, and cats that are appropriately proportioned to ponies... it wouldn't be so bad if the world was a completely alien one, but it must be incredibly weird to find out that your home is apparently itty bitty.
It would be funny to see the girl's reactions if Sunset ever mentions the attractiveness (or lack thereof?) of Twilight. They've known Sunset Shimmer as a human for so long, I wonder if they really recognize that at the core of her being she's still a pony?
So... since this may very well extend past the weekend, what'll Twilight & Co. get up to over her stay? Sunset mentioned that she hasn't gotten a chance to study magic in forever, and Twilight's always willing to share knowledge (especially about magic). Considering that Sunset can sort-of use magic now via music, that could come in handy.

It occurs to me that since neither Twilight nor Sunset are really sure just how big a pony should be compared to a human, the mishap may have reduced the alicorn to less than her normal size. Regardless, it's going to be fun to see the other human girls' reactions, since they've never seen an Equestrian's natural form before.

There is still no proof the Twilight can use magic. She's done literally nothing but sit there behind the statue and hop into the backpack.
Can she still levitate things? Does she still have equestrian hoof grabbing? Can she fly?

You could do a visual comparison of the relative sizes by assuming Sunset's Friendship Diary and it's clone are the same size.
You could also use the Element of Magic for comparison, but it is likely it morphed in size through the Portal to fit the head of its Bearer.

You need to do another editing pass on this, there are a few errors floating around. Also, you probably need to dial back your use of the word "iconic" a bit. As in, don't use it at all. Both times it's in here, it's...not the best match for the context.

6280385 It could just as easily be a perspective thing. Or a trans-dimensional mechanic issue. The distance between atoms in the two worlds could be different, for instance. So, proportionally, you would be right about the size, but in coming to the other world without the change makes the actual difference obvious.
I hope you actually finish this and don't just leave it. Anyway seems my upvote button is broken because it only goes up by one, so I'll have to make do with that.

) but I also hope to see another side of Twilight: since she isn't in immediate danger and has nothing really to do while the others work in the mirror I'd love to see Twilight explore and research the EqG!human world: from different places to customs to their nonmagical technology and literature.

To those wondering about Twilight's size, I was inspired by 1) the cover art, 2) SS&E Because Ponies Are the Size of Cats and They Love to Cuddle (which you all should read because it's adorable) and 3) As an owner of both large and small dogs, I find it's much easier to hug something that's not as big as you.

My last dog was a mutt (with at least some Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever) just a touch shorter than a St. Bernard, and my current dog is actually a pig in disguise that has convinced people that it's a Jack Russel/Beagle mix. Sure it's easy to wrap around a smaller dog with mostly forearm movements, but you don't get that same full, stretchy, embrace-y feeling that comes from cuddling with a giant armful of dog.
On the plus side, small dogs can't ninja-push you off the couch.

Good start. I'm just hopeful that people (Fluttershy especially) don't treat her as a pet (stroking her fur, picking her up without her okay) once they get over the initial dawww stage - it always comes across as them not caring about the transformee's true sapience/intelligence and makes them look bad.
