Octavia Philharmonica is one of many who are trying to make it in life, and living in one of the nation's busiest cities doesn't make it any easier. She just got laid off of her job, and bussing tables at her friend's cafe part-time isn't doing much to pay the bills, so Octavia falls to her last resort - she'll use her talent of music to offer lessons for those who are willing to learn the craft.

However, when a bold, crazy disk jockey obsessed with rock-n-roll signs up, everything turns upside down.

So, I accepted an invitation from a first cousin, once removed. It seemed like a sweet deal at the time, I mean, there were these conventions I wanted to go and he so graciously offered me a place to stay! Alright, so I had to share a room with my brothers, but I had the first convention all for myself! Plenty of cash to spend, and my costume was really easy to make!

Naturally, I spent all of the money that didn't go into my costume on everything that caught my fancy.

I should have left that table alone.

Now? Now... I am not as mad at Celestia as I could have been, as I should have been, all things considered. I can't help but let it be smoke in the wind.

You’re probably wondering how a human could be the nephew of a pony, and an alicorn princess, no less. Well, it’s quite the story.

In case you haven't guessed yet this is an anthro story, and my first time writing a story in first person, so we'll see how this goes.

The prologue for this story starts sixteen years prior to the return of Nightmare Moon and the story's main events take place after Season 3 ends.

Button Mash has lived in Ponyville for a few months now. Still has no friends, his father is always gone for business trips, his big brother left long ago to join the guard, and now it's usually only him and his mom. His mother tries to talk him into having friends, but he knows all he needs is his joyboy and nothing else. After standing up to a certain, harsh duo of bratty fillies, the Cutie Mark Crusaders want to get to know Button Mash a bit more after seeing him stand up to them.

Ok for everyone here, yeah I know that this pairing is VERY common, I get it. But all of the ones I read put them together right off the bat. If it where a bit more realistic, they would warm up to each other first. So I decided to write my own story of it how I think it might look like. Just so everyone knows, I am not writing this for you guys, I am writing this because I want to and I think a couple of you might like it as well. I did not plan this, I didn't brain storm this, this is my pleasure only and for fun. I write this while I am learning how to be better, so writing styles may change. Hope some of you guys enjoy it, this will be a little long just so you guys know. (P.S. Wtf why isn't Button Mash on the list of character selection?! That hurts me!) Also on a side note, I feel ashamed that I do not have proof, but this story reached the special featured box. The reason why no one saw it is because it was at 1:30 in the morning and it got taken off the list after it was there for 5 minutes I was so heart broken that day. Hi, I'm Auric Fulcrum, also known as Frank DeFontaine. For about 1,500 years, I wasn't alive. I instead inhabited my Dullahan costume as a spirit because of my sword, which also brought me to Equestria. Once I got here, after a few years of back and forth, Sunbutt imprisoned me because of a minor misunderstanding.
I heard that!
You were meant to!
Anyways, once I got out, I learned that the Wise One was coming to this reality, so I did what came natural to me.
I sought out the power of the Golden Sun and used it to defeat him so utterly I would never have to worry about him again.
Problem was, the energies that bound me together and the power of the Sun conflicted, so my armor fell apart. And without the armor, I was unbound, unfocused.
I came to a week later in the same basement I had been imprisoned, in my old body, but with a few...upgrades. Like Alchemy being a Thing I can Do.
Now that I'm alive again, my to-do list is radically different, but no less daunting.
For starters, how am I supposed to stop a mountain from sinking into the earth?!

(for any G-fans, Xenilla is the kaiju you may know as Spacegodzilla. I changed the name because I got quirked about typing it repeatedly and am writing the story so it can at least be understood by just an MLP or just a G-fan; and thought it get very confusing that one character's name was just another character's name with an adjective. Also... don't pretend it's the most imaginative name Toho has every made)

The Witch of the Everfree... a tale that has spread among all who live by the ever illustrious forest, to whom the witch truly is, no one knows apart from the one herself... until now. Twilight Sparkle had lived in the Everfree throughout most of her long life, since the corruption she was alone until not long ago when she met few companions. Trained along side her sisters through bond in arcane magic, given true immortality, she continued her studies alone only every now and again seeing how her race fared. Now, forty years after she was dubbed a witch by her race, three little girls stumble through her woods in search of the ever mysterious "witch", what could really happen? read to find out.

Clarifications:
Many have wondered what Twilight looks like and such so to clarify, she does not look like a human female, she retains her fur coat, she is of human height and has hands. The facial structure is more detailed such as where the eyebrows should be there is a darker patch of coat much in the color of her mane.

The story starts a few episodes in, around halfway through season one I would say, some shall stay canon whilst some with alter, I am sorry for this inconvenience.

Twilight is still Twilight in every way, though she has been with little to no contact throughout her life apart from when the Everfree retained people, in such her words would become haggard sometimes so that's why you will probably go "huh" when you first see her talk to the CMC.

Once again Spike is left alone at the library while Twilight is away. Bored and tired of always staying inside he decides to go to a night club with a friend. While there he meets a mare that shows him to loosen up and live life to the fullest.

Starburst, the daughter of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Flash Sentry, has about all she could ask from life: loving parents, her Little Brother Best Friend Forever, and despite her seriousness and disciplined mentality, she has group of friends close as family. She also has an ambitious goal in life: she wants to be the first mare ever to become the Captain of the Royal Guard, which she's been preparing herself for since she was a little filly.

So... what would happen if she were to meet a pony that is an exact opposite of her?
