Now all four have become an entirely new being, with her own thoughts and feelings. And in order for the Princesses to return, she will have to die.

Spike has many friends in his life, but Twilight has come to realise that he has virtually none his own age. So, knowing of three little fillies who have just recently started spending time with one another, she decides now's the perfect day for him to make some.

While following the recently reunited PostCrush on their new tour, a severe storm leaves Sunset and Pinkie Pie in a motel room with nothing to do. Pinkie Pie discovers a chess set and asks Sunset to teach her how to play while they wait for the power to come back on.

After years of being the runt of the litter (despite having no siblings), Spike finally comes into his own and starts to grow up and mature. The result is a unique bit of magic all his own, or so the theory goes: He awakens one morning to find words hanging overhead that call him [The Gamer], along with powers that let him 'live life as though it were a game'.

How he decides to handle all of this, and where things go from there? That would be a spoiler, and you all know how we feel about spoilers around here...

(The continuation of this story-verse is Star Trek: Pegasus.)

This is a direct sequel to my previous fic The Quandary of DisQord and is, of course, another Star Trek: The Next Generation / Friendship is Magic crossover. This time, however, Q has decided to bring the crew of the Enterprise-D along for the ride as well.

This is a much lighter story than Quandary was (since Quandary was the story of Discord's reign prior to his first defeat, it was bound to be a bit on the dark side). Also, be warned, though I tried to keep them to a minimum, there are still a few references to and spoilers for Quandary in this fic here, so I'd obviously recommend reading that one first before reading this one. Though, at the same time, this one is hopefully self-contained enough that you wouldn't necessarily have to read Quandary first in order to understand anything, if you don't care to.

Also beware, there is a bit of very mild one-sided shipping between one of the ponies and one of the humans, but nothing super serious or squicky or anything like that. And the Discord/Celestia ship from Quandary is touched upon again, of course. Just thought I'd mention it here, in case someone might be turned off by that sort of thing.

No, this secret goes deeper; A secret that has been kept hidden behind many masks and white lies. Its a secret that Spike is both blessed and cursed with, for with each passing day, he is reminded of that secret. So, the time has come...the day when one's resolve to hide a secret has fractured...

At night, Spike feels lonely.

Who could blame him?

He missed his oldest and greatest friend.

So what does he do?

He ends up at the kitchen where he has a morning conversation with her. Events ensue.
