This story takes place immediately after the "Death" of Preston J. Cole in the short story; The Impossible Life and the Possible Death of Preston J. Cole, written by bestselling author Eric Nylund. The story is from the novel, Halo Evolutions Volume 1.

I highly recommend that you read this short story, so that you may better understand Cole's back-story. Otherwise this crossover may be slightly confusing to the readers.

Also, the drawing of Cole on the left depicts him from his younger days. In the story he is over seventy years old, so as you can tell the picture is not up to date, but it was the best I could find. (Based after Majora's mask) Link finds himself transported to the land of Equestria after saving the world once again, later on in his visit monsters begin appearing near Ponyville. So he must stop them as he finds a way to leave so he can continue his quest for Navi.

Both of them searched for purpose during their lives. Both of them were puppets designed to kill and manipulate. Both of them encountered a single individual that taught them the meaning of life. And then they passed away. One was a villain determined to destroy everything. The other was a child looking for security in his limited life. They found themselves blessed to have a second chance in a new world.
They were blessed to be able to live again…
