(Well some reading and several hours of interrupted typing later we have a story. Enjoy)
Link rubs his eyes, his hair was disheveled and messy. Link scratches the back of his head, and feels the tear in his tunic, Oh yeah, I should fix that he thought.
Twilight walks up to the crusaders and says between yawns, “Now come on girls he just woke up. You go on ahead, he’ll catch up.” the three looked at eachother before accepting this and running out the door, where Link saw two of them get in a smaller, red, version of a cart while Scootaloo got on some strange device hooked up to it. She buzzed her wings and the device moved, gaining speed, until it was a speck in the distance.
Twilight slowly shakes her head and looks at Link, “Well you should get something to eat.” Link nodded and slowly picked up his things, strapping the sword onto his back and placing the shield in front of it. He stretches his arms with a yawn, before he follows Twilight into the kitchen. She begins making a salad while Link sits down and looks through his pouch taking inventory yet again. Twilight places the salad in front of Link before sitting across from him and putting her own plate down, “Link I think I may have found a way to send you back to Hyrule.” she said before she began eating, Link looked at her, his eyes wide, “Really? That means I can continue my search.” He said before he began eating. “But can it wait? I’ve still got to go to Applebloom, Sweetie, and Scootaloo’s school today, I don’t break promises.”
Twilight smiled and said, “That’s fine. I’ll get everything set up so you can leave when you get back.” Link returns the smile and finishes the salad, “Thank you Twilight. I better get going.” he said before he walked out of the library, he takes a deep breath and takes in his surroundings. Seeing the bright and vibrant colors, nice aromas and strange looks from other ponies who still didn’t want to get too close to him. Alright then let’s go to their school... Now where is it? he thought, a frown reaching his face. I’ll just ask around. Shouldn’t be too hard. With that thought in mind he set off to look for the school.

Link still hadn’t found the school and asking around didn’t seem to help, many of the ponies were afraid he’d hurt the students and gave him wrong directions, others were too busy to give him an answer. He found himself near Fluttershy’s cottage again, “Why does this look familiar?” he said looking around and seeing her home, “That’s why. Maybe she’ll know where it is.” he said before running to the cottage, he paused on the bridge to look in the water, and saw all the fish and other animals there before walking up to the door.
He knocks on the wood three times. “I’m coming.” she said, her soft voice barely heard through the door. Link watches the door open, revealing the yellow pegasus behind it, “Oh Link I didn’t know you were coming to visit. I really should have cleaned up a little.” she said before a small white rabbit on her back tapped her head, she looks at him and he angrily points to a basket, “That’s right Angel I was going to take you on a picnic, I’m sorry Link.” Link just smiled and said, “It’s okay I actually came by to ask if you knew where the school was.”
“The school it’s not too far from here, it’s a short walk over there.” She said pointing towards the distance. “Thank you, bye.” Link said before walking away, “Bye.” she said before picking up the basket and flying away, with Angel on her back.
Link came upon the schoolhouse, it looked like a small barn with a bell attached to the top in a turret. Link walks up to the door and knocks. “Who could that be? We don’t have any guests for today.” a voice said from the other side of the door. “Yes?” a purple mare said hesitantly upon seeing Link, who smiled. “Link! Yah came!” Applebloom yelled from her seat, “We thought you weren’t going to come.” Sweetie added. Scootaloo was sleeping, a little drool falling from her mouth. The mare looked at the three fillies, “You two know this... uh?” she said trying not to offend Link, “Hylian.” he said. “Hylian?” Applebloom gets out of her chair while Sweetie shakes Scootaloo to wake her up, “Yup Miss Cheerilee he’s here for our show an’ tell ” Link looks around Miss Cheerilee and smiles.
Scootaloo wakes up with a snort, “Huh? Is school over?” she says groggily, Sweetie belle rolls her eyes, “No, but Link is here.” she said pointing at the door. “Oh, uh Ms. Cheerilee? Can we start our show and tell now?” she asks. Cheerilee hesitantly steps aside, “Sure, I don’t see why not.” Link walks in smiling and waves at the fillies and colts. They stare at him confused and surprised. The crusaders push Link to the front of the class, “Alright everypony this here’s Link, an' he’s from a different world!” Applebloom started, “And he’s saved his own world twice.” Scootaloo continued, “And he has a lot of cool things in this thing.” Sweetie belle said trying to grab Link’s pouch. He pulls it away, “Hey some of the stuff in here’s dangerous.” he said. The students ‘ooh’ at Link, one raises her hoof, “Yes Diamond tiara?” Cheerilee says to the one with her raised hoof.
“Do you have a cutie mark?” she asked in a stuck up tone, Link opens his mouth to answer but gets cut off by Scootaloo, “Of course he does! He’s saved his world twice!” Link shakes his head, “Actually I don’t have one.” the pink filly known as Diamond tiara smirks, “So you’re just a blank flank like them.” Link looks at her confused, “I don’t have a flank and the people from my world don’t get cutie marks.” they all gasp, a small blue unicorn with an orange mane in the back asks, “Then how do you know what you’re special talent is?”
“Well actually now that I think about it I guess I do, if this counts.” he said holding up his right hand, balled up in a fist with the back of his hand pointed towards the crowd, and the image of the triforce appears with the bottom left triangle glowing brighter than the rest.
“How did you get it?” a purplish gray unicorn asked. “What does it mean?” a gray earth pony asked. “Well I found out I had it when I met Gannondorf, and Princess Zelda.” he said as a colt asked, “Don’t you mean Princess Celestia?” Link shook his head, “No in my world, Hyrule, we have a king, a queen and the princess.”
“Who’s Gann-on-dorf?” another asked “Well he is an evil wizard, he used his evil magic to take over Hyrule, but I stopped him and returned peace to the land.” the students said in unison, “Woah!”
“Well what does your cutie mark mean?” Diamond tiara asked. “Well it means that I’m the chosen hero of the gods. The people call me ‘The hero of time’.”
“What’s that thing behind you?” a skinny pegasus asks. Link looks over his shoulder at the hilt of his sword, “This? This is my sword.” he said before unsheathing it, the students stared at it in wonder, “What is that for?” the purplish gray unicorn asks, “Well I used it to fight monsters.” Scootaloo reaches up to touch it and Link raises it out of her reach before sheathing it. “Okay class let’s tell Mr. Link our names.” Cheerilee said
“Yes Ms. Cheerilee.” the class said before they each said their names. The purplish gray unicorn was called Dinky, the gray earth pony was Silver spoon, the skinny pegasus was called Featherweight, a white filly was named Twist, and then there were the crusaders.
“Thank you class, now if you have any questions for Mr. Link-”
“Link is fine Ms. Cheerilee.” Link politely said. Cheerilee smiles and says, “Okay Link. If you have any questions for Link raise your hooves.” every pony raised their hooves. Link looked at the class, Cheerilee leans over to Link and says, “Go ahead and choose one.” Link nods and points to Featherweight. “Can you show us what’s in your bag?” he asked, Link decided it would be okay to show them some of the things he had. “Don’t show them anything dangerous please.’ Link nods and looks through his bag, No explosives, I could show them a mask, or a song. Link decided something with a quick demonstration, the hero’s bow.
Link pulls out his bow, “This is one of the least dangerous items I have.” Cheerilee’s jaw dropped, “That is one of the least dangerous things you have?” Link nodded, “Don’t worry, I’m a great archer.”
“Oh, oh, oh!” Twist says raising her hoof, “Yes uh, Twist?” she smiles and says, “You should have a contestht againstht Archer. He got hith cutie mark in arching!” the others agree, and a blue earthpony with a bow and arrow for a cutie mark walks up to Link, “Do you want to try?” he asked, Link shrugged, “I don’t see why not.” Link turns to Cheerilee, “Can we?” Cheerilee answers, “I guess that would be fine.” Cheerilee leads Link and the class outside, where one of the students sets up a target on a tree, and gives Archer a bow and a quiver.
Link and Archer stand side by side about 10 yards from the target. Link looks at his opponent and waves for him to go first. He nods and grips his bow in one hoof while biting the string with the arrow nocked and releases, the arrow flies straight into the center of the target. Everypony claps, Link readies an arrow and sends it flying hitting Archer’s arrow and slicing it cleanly in half, the entire class’s jaw drops. Link walks up to the target and pulls the arrows out, they walk away from the target a few more yards, this time Link starts. Archer does the same thing Link did, splitting his arrow in half. They continue until the bell rings, “Oh look at that, school’s over, I guess we can continue show and tell tomorrow.” Cheerilee said, being met with “Aww.” Link decides to do something, he grins, “Can I show them one more thing?” Cheerilee looks at him and nods.
Link turns towards the target and nocks an arrow, the arrow tip glows red. He releases the arrow, a red cone forms around it as it flies. It hits the target and the target immediately ignites. Link watches the fire shortly before nocking another arrow, this one glowing blue. He sends this arrow flying. It hits the target and instantly the fire gets put out, and the tree freezes over. Everypony’s jaw was hanging, one filly walked up to the tree and poked it, “It’s frozen completely!” she says causing the others to say, “Woah!/ You have magic!?/ can you do it again?/ cool!” Link puts his bow away, turns to the ponies and bows, gaining a large applaud by everypony besides Cheerilee-who was still gawking at the frozen tree.

Link walks into the library after taking the cmc to their clubhouse, and denying their requests to freeze another tree. Twilight looks at Link, from within a circle, and smiles, “Well how did it go?” Link rubs the back of his head, “It went well.” Twilight raises an eyebrow, “What happened?” as if on cue Rainbow dash flies in through a window, “Twilight! There’s a frozen tree next to the school!” Twilight glances at her before returning her gaze to Link, “Did you do that?” Link scratched the back of his head again, “Well. Yeah.” the colorful pegasus flies up close to Link, making him take a step back, “You can freeze stuff!? How?” she asked with a large, excited, smile. “Uh, with an ice arrow.” he says, Rainbow dash tilts her head, “So wait. You have an arrow made of ice?” Link shook his head, “No it’s more magic. I can add magic to my arrows: Ice, fire, and light.”
“Light? Can you explain?” Twilight said as she looks up from the circle. “Well I don’t know how to explain... Let me just show you.” he says pulling out his bow. Twilight moves out of the circle, “Be careful though.” Link nodded. He nocks an arrow, the tip glowing yellow, and releases it. The arrow flies into the ceiling with a flash of yellow light. Everyone in the room cover their eyes. “That’s so cool! Hey can you freeze another tree with it?” Link shook his head, “No, sorry.” Rainbow dash’s face fell, “Oh, well that’s too bad.” she looks at Twilight and sees the circle on the floor, “Uh Twi, what’s with the circle?” Twilight looks at RD and smiles, “It’s the beginning of the portal to send Link back. It needs a lot of magic to work, so we have one shot at this.”
---------------------------------------------Meanwhile----------------------------------------------------
In the quiet town of Ponyville ponies are gossiping about the new ‘Hylian’ who had arrived. They spoke of his magic, that their children had witnessed, of how he burned a tree then froze it sollid along with the fire. Some don’t believe the others while one light blue pony is pushing her way through the streets. On her way towards the library. “Trixie must see this magical ape for herself.” she muttered as she passed two ponies outside a cafe arguing about the new arrival, “Come on Bon bon! I saw him with my own eyes! Not only that but I spoke with him!” the mint green unicorn said to her purple and pink maned earth pony friend named Bon bon, who rolled her eyes, “That’s what you said about that balding monkey.”
Lyra slams her hooves on the table, “Hey it looked like a human. But Link isn’t a monkey, he promised we’d play music together later.” Bon bon sighed, “Look Lyra, you can’t be obsessing over these things. I never saw this... ‘Link’ and I won’t believe you until I see him for myself.” she said taking a sip from the cup in front of her.
Lyra smirks, “Well let’s go see Link then. He should be at Twilight’s house.” Bon bon raises an eyebrow but reluctantly agrees, “Fine Lyra, let’s get this over with.” they finish their drinks and pay before walking towards the library.
--------------------------------------Crusader’s clubhouse-----------------------------------------------
“So girls, what should we try now?” Scootaloo asks the others. They put their hooves on their chins as they ponder. “Oh what about... No we did that.” Sweetie said before laying her head on the table. “Maybe we could, uh. Hmm. How ‘bout we ask Twilight? She might have somethin’ fer us ta try.” Applebloom suggested to the others. They shook their heads, “Nah, I don’t think she’ll want us near her books again.” Scootaloo said before leaning on her hoof. “Oh how about we help fix Link’s too- toon- his clothes?” Sweetie said, Applebloom and Scootaloo shook their heads, “Remember the last time we tried sewing?” Sweetie’s head droops, “Yeah, I remember... but how about we help out Zecora?” the other two thought, “Well at least it’s something to do.”
“Well then let’s get goin’.” Applebloom said standing up and walking over to their saddlebags, the others following.

“Thank you Twilight, now I can continue my quest.” Link said before remembering, “Wait. Twilight I need you to apologize to Lyra for me. Since I won’t be able to play music with her.” Twilight smiles and nods, “Sure, I will.” Link smiles and stands at the edge of the circle, “Thank you.”
“Okay let’s start.” Twilight says her horn beginning to glow. “Wait!” Rainbow dash yelled stopping Twilight from continuing. “What is it Rainbow dash?” Twilight asks, “Well Twi shouldn’t our friends be here to say goodbye?”Twilight’s eyes widen, “You’re absolutely right Rainbow! Can you get them?” Rainbow dash smirks, “I’ll get them and be back in ten seconds flat” she said before flying out a window leaving a rainbow trail in her wake.
Link watched her fly away before he double-checked his inventory, “Uh, Twilight?”
“Yes Link?”
“I’m going to need the mask of truth before I go.”
“Oh! I almost forgot about that. Let me go get it. Spiiike!” she yelled loudly. “What?” a voice said groggily from upstairs. “Spike I need you to get me the chest in the basement.” Twilight said before a small purple dragon appeared at the top of the steps, rubbing his eyes. “Can’t you do it? I was having an amazing dream with Rarity.” he said, with hearts in his eyes. Twilight rolls her eyes while Link wipes a tear away. Twilight doesn’t see this as she opens the door to the basement, “Fine Spike you can go back to sleep.” Spike smiles and looks at Link, “Uh, Twilight who’s this?” Twilight didn’t hear him as she trotted down the steps, Link looks at Spike and smiles, “My name is Link.” Spike keeps staring at Link, shocked.
“You can talk! What are you?” Spike asked afraid to approach Link in case he was dangerous. Link looks up at Spike, “You remind me of a very close friend.” Spike blinks before responding, “Really? You know I’m a dragon, right?” Link nods, “Yes that’s why you remind me of him.”
“Him who?” Twilight says walking back from the basement. “Yeah who are you talking about?” Rainbow dash said as she flew back inside. “I was talking about my first pet-” Fluttershy pushes the door open, “You have a pet? What’s his name? What is he? Oh if you don’t mind me asking.” she said, her tone changing from excited to her usual shy tone.
Twilight opens the chest and Pinkie Pie jumps out, confetti following, “You have a pet! We should celebrate!” Link fell back from Pinkie jumping out of the small chest, clutching his chest. Applejack and Rarity came in last, the latter with a sewing machine, and a large chest. “Oh you simply must tell us about him while I fix your... uh ensemble.” Link grabs the torn part of his tunic, “Do I have to take it off? Do you have anything else I could wear while you fix it?” Rarity levitates a blue suit with a lighter blue tie over to Link, “I apologize if it’s too large, but I never got the chance to measure you.” Link takes the suit and looks it over before walking into the basement and closing the door.
The mares wait patiently a few minutes before the door opened and Link came out wearing the suit-pulling up the waist. “This is a little big.” Link says dropping his tunic. He reached down for it but stopped as Rarity’s magic grabbed it and she brought it over. Link lifts the pants again, then rolls up the sleeves. Rarity begins working immediately, using some thread and needles that came out of the chest she had brought to fix the tear. “Go on dear tell us about your friend.” Link holds the pants up, “His name was Volvagia. He was my first pet, he was also a dragon.” Spike and the others gasp. “It was when I had begun my first quest to stop Gannondorf. I had just left the woods.”
------------------------------------------Flashback---------------------------------------------
Link was walking through the Castle’s market. Looking around he could see that it was a busy day, there were people grouped around most of the stalls. Link kept walking, trying to avoid bumping into others, when he came upon a stall with a small baby dragon caged up, Link looked at it and it looked back at him. There was a note stuck to the cage it read: Baby dragon 70 rupees. (note I will use [ ] to go back to the library .) [“What in tarnation are rupees?” Applejack asked, Fluttershy answered, “Rupees are the currency in his world... I’m sorry for interrupting.” Link waved his hand, “It’s fine. Rupees are useless here though.”
“What do they look like?” Rarity asked, Link’s tunic still being worked on. “Like this.” Link said taking out his wallet, and emptying the contents on the floor. Rarity’s eyes sparkle at the sight of the gems. “You use these to buy things!?” she said recoiling slightly from shock. Link nods, “Yes we ha-” Link gets cut off by Rainbow dash, “Ugh just let him tell the story!” the others stop speaking while Link continues]
Link grabs his wallet and overturns it above his hand, counting up exactly 70 rupees. He’s torn between freeing the dragon and buying supplies. He looks at the baby dragon again. It gives him a sad look, Link feels bad for him being caged up and buys him from the merchant. Link then grabs the cage and leaves the Caste market, walking far out into Hyrule field. Link set the cage down in a spot he thought was safe. He opens the cage and reaches in, “All right, come on.” the baby dragon bites Link’s hand, Link pulls the dragon attached to his hand and shakes it, trying to dislodge the dragon, “Ow! Ow!” Link stops shaking his arm and pulls the dragon off by the tail, “Why you little-!! I saved you with the last of my money!.” Link yelled at the baby, which made him breathe fire on Link’s face.
[“Oh my! You should never yell at a baby.” Fluttershy said, Rainbow groaned, “Come on Fluttershy! It bit him! If it bit you you’d give it ‘the stare’.” Fluttershy nervously kicked the ground. “What happened next?” Twilight asked.] Link dropped the dragon and walked off angrily. A few minutes-and a potion-later Navi spoke up, “Uh, Link. The Little guy’s following us.” Link turns around to see the head of the baby dragon sticking out from behind a large rock. Link, still angry, turns away and walks off.
A few hours later, Link had set up a temporary camp next to a stream. He had begun cooking some fish, which was still over a fire. Link looks around and sees the dragon hiding behind a tree. He puts his hand on his chin as he thinks before grabbing the fish and tearing a bit off, holding it out to the dragon. The dragon sniffs his hand before grabbing the rest of the fish and running off, leaving an angry Link to follow. When Link caught up to the dragon it jumped up and sent out a large flame, which missed Link and hit a Stalchild [“A what?” Twilight asked, interrupting the story yet again, “A Stalchild is a skeletal monster the size of a child, about the size of me.” Link clarified. “Oh, okay.”]That was behind him. He turns around and looks at the smoldering remains, “A monster...” he turns back to the dragon and crouches in front of it, reaching out to the shaking dragon, “Hey, you... You saved my life.” this calmed the scared dragon, “Could it be that you are lonely?” Link says before picking the dragon up, the dragon looks into Link’s eyes and stammers, “Li... Li...nk, Lin...k.” the speaking dragon shocked Link as he said, “It spoke!” Navi flys over to Link, “Amazing! There are some dragons that can memorize words.” [“Wait can’t all dragons speak?” Spike asked Link turns to Spike, “Well in my world most don’t.” Spike scratches his head, “I guess that makes sense.”] “But this is the first time I’ve ever heard it.” Navi said from next to Link’s head, “Link!” the dragon said again, making Link smile, as he brought it in for a hug.
“From now, we’ll always be friends.” Link said before holding the dragon on his head, “Link. Link!” the dragon said before they walked back to the camp.

Link wipes a tear away as he remembers his friend. “What’s wrong Link?” Fluttershy said, flying over to comfort Link. “It’s just... I miss him.” Link said leaning on the yellow pegasus. “Well he’ll be waiting for you when you get back. Right?” Link shook his head, “I-I had to kill him.” he silently sobbed as the others gasp, “Why!? What would make you do such a thing!?” Spike said. Fluttershy was patting his back, “It’s okay, it’s going to be okay.” Link had calmed down enough to explain, “It was Gannondorf. He used his dark magic to manipulate him.”
(And done, I'm going to continue the story next time.
Also I'm thinking of starting another story, just something that popped into my head. It's based off a different story I made-without any ponies whatsoever- that I call Phoenix blood. I'll put up a description at the end of the next chapter if you want to know what it's about... If you want me to.)
