The Hero of Time in Equestria

by Mikoyose

Oot ending part one.

(Alrighty then time to finish up the story with an extra long chapter... But first.)

The small group of three had stopped on the way to the library to get three smoothies with extra hay in one. Lyra was drinking her smoothie quickly, "Did we have to stop? I mean the library isn't far." she stops to point at the tree about three minutes away. "Trixie was parched." the cape wearing unicorn said, taking a small sip from her cup. "Calm down Lyra, it's not like 'Link' is going to leave anyway." Bon bon said drinking from her own cup. Lyra still groaned and finished off her smoothie, her eyes widened and she laid her head on the table while rubbing her head with her hooves, "Ow! Brainfreeze!" Bon bon laughs, "Lyra you shouldn't drink so fast." Lyra groans and keeps rubbing her head.

-------------------------Library-------------------------

Link had just finished a glass of water, given by the kind pegasus. Twilight meanwhile had sent three scrolls to the princess, one containing the Forest temple, one containing the Fire temple, and the last containing a description of the enemies Link fought, including the Phantom along with a question. Her scrolls were replied to a short moment after. Her magic unfurled the scroll and she read aloud, "Twilight Sparkle my faithful student. I thank you for the new information on Link's world and the monsters that dwell there. To answer your question, there has been no magic powerful enough to create a phantom with magical abilities without ending one's own life, or the life of another. This Ganondorf's magic must be very powerful. Sincerely, your Princess and teacher, Celestia." Twilight finished and stored the scroll away, with the other replies and messages she had received, in alphabetical order and by date.

Applejack stood up and looked out the window, "Ah wonder if Big Macintosh can handle working the whole farm alone." she wondered with Pinkie pie answering, "Don't worry your little head Applejack! Big Mac is really strong, maybe he can work for days and days and days and days and days without getting tired!" she giggled and bounced away. Rainbow dash was hovering in front of a bookshelf reading the names of books under her breath, "Daring do and sapphire statue, griffin's goblet, read it, read it, read it..." she continued on slowly drifting to the side as she searched. Rarity was pouting that Link's stories had absolutely no romance in them whatsoever, although it did have potential it never even neared romantic.

Fluttershy was still sitting next to Link, still comforting him. Link put his hand over his chest, the tooth he had retrieved was still stuck seven years in the future. Rainbow dash gave up on finding the book she was looking for and walked over to Link, "Hey Link." Link looked up at her, she scratched the back of her head, "Um, can you finish the story?" she asked him. He nodded. "Yes I can." he answered, Fluttershy patted his head, "You don't have to Link." he shook his head, "I'm fine Fluttershy, it's almost over anyway." he gathered the others besides Spike because he had fallen asleep. He took a deep breath and continued.

----------------------------------------Zora's domain---------------------------------------

Link had left the mountain and went immediately to the Zora's domain. It was completely frozen over, the waterfall inside the domain had stopped flowing, the water that filled most of the giant cavern was frozen solid to the floor. An eerie chill filled the once welcoming cave. Link ignored the cold and ran straight to the kings chambers, he ran up the steps to find the Zora king frozen in a block of red ice. "Link, that's red ice. Only blue fire can melt it but where are we going to get blue fire?" Navi wondered aloud. Link walked up the steps to his right that led up to the frozen king, he stopped and bowed before moving on past a golden gate where he had found lord Jabu-Jabu. The small lake that housed Jabu-Jabu wasn't frozen but there were ice floes floating on the calm water. The Zora lord was nowhere to be found. Link looked over the ice floes they led to a cavern in the side of a mountain.

Link jumped from ice floe to ice floe nearly falling off them on several occasions. He reached the cave and entered. [Link stops the story, "Again there are some trials I had to go through, so I'll skip to the end." the mares nodded.] Link entered the only room in the whole cave. Inside was a frozen floor with a single block carved out in the center of the room. Link took a few steps forward and bars blocked his exit. Then a white wolf appeared, Link dispatched it quickly. As the wolf's body burnt to nothing, a small glow span around in a small circle not too far from the hole. He approached it and saw a large chest materialize, he opened it and pulled out a pair of iron boots. After taking the boots, he got curious. He crouched and rubbed his gauntlet across the ice, to his surprise every Zora citizen was underneath it. He continued to stare at them until he heard footsteps, he turned around to find Sheik again.

"We meet again Link." he said, Link took a few steps closer to Sheik, "Yes. What happened here?" Link asked. "If you came to meet the Zora, you've wasted your time. They've been trapped in this thick sheet of ice, as you saw. I managed to save the Zora princess, but she headed towards the Water Temple." Sheik watched Link's reaction before continuing, "This ice is an evil curse, brought on by the Evil King himself. The curse can be broken by defeating the monster in the Water temple. If you don't defeat him the ice will never melt." Link nodded, "Time passes, people move... Like a river's flow it never ends. A childish mind will turn to noble ambition, young love will become deep affection." ["So you did love the fish girl!" Rarity interrupted with a sly grin on her face, "I knew it!" Link blushed and resented saying that, Rainbow dash facehoofed, "Rarity, Link said he didn't marry the Zora. Please continue Link." she said earning a glare from the white unicorn.]

"The clear water's surface reflects growth. Now listen to the serenade of water to reflect upon yourself." Sheik pulled out her lyre and began the Serenade of water. Sheik put the lyre away, "Link I will see you again." he said before backing away and raising a deku nut. Link ran towards him, reaching arms length before he threw the nut. Link stared at the door, which had opened at some point, and left. On his way out he took an extra bottle of blue fire to use on the king.

-----------------------------Chambers-----------------------------

Link walked back into the chambers and opened the bottle with the blue fire. He dumped it on the red ice, the ice melted and leaked onto the frozen floor. The king blinked, "I'm free?" he asked the empty space in front of him. Link then jumped off the edge of the higher platform and landed on the floor, the king turned his gaze to the tunic wearing man. "You, you are Link. Did you save me?" he asked, Link nodded and the king laughed, "First you save my daughter then you save me! Ruto did you hear your fiancee?" he asked before turning to his side, "Ruto? Ruto!? Ruto..." he stopped calling when Link explained what happened with Ruto. The king's mood became serious, "Link. As her fiancee you must protect her. Take this. It'll allow you to breathe underwater." he said after tossing a blue tunic, "It's the Zora tunic." Link said, remembering he had seen it in their shop seven years ago, even then it was adult sized. Link thanked the King and left to the temple.

---------------------------------Water temple--------------------------------------

Link dismounted Epona and left her to graze on the land while he went on a dangerous mission. The lake was nearly dried up, the only water left was about twelve feet of water surrounding the center island. He decided to check that out first. He donned the Zora tunic and the iron boots before wading into the water. He held his breath until he couldn't any longer and tried to unfasten the boots before he drowned. when he began fiddling with the first one he noticed that he had let his breath go. He righted himself and took a deep breath before letting it out slowly, bubbles appeared, the Tunic worked. Link smirked and pulled out the hookshot, when he saw a large blue diamond above a closed gate. He aimed and shot it. The diamond glowed before moving away from a hole it was in, the gate raised soon after and Link entered the temple.

He didn't stop to look at the scenery before jumping into the flooded temple, he slowly drifted down to the ground and looked around, one door was locked, plus it was too high for him to enter, another one was too high, and then there were two entrances, one with two braziers that were put out and the other was just a square hole. Link entered the one with the braziers, he followed the path until he reached a small room with two torches a brazier, and the princess standing there. When she spotted Link she swam to him and held him in a tight embrace, "Oh my hero has arrived! Link..." she trailed off before pushing him to arms length, "Why did you make me wait seven years to marry me?" she gave him a hard gaze before it softened and a small smile spread across her face as she hugged the stunned Link.

"Who could stay mad at you? My husband came to help me fight the monster in the temple!" she exclaimed while Link was suffocating in the deadly embrace. "I... I... I... can't... breathe!" He finally got out making the princess release him with a worried expression, "I'm sorry Link did I hurt you?" Link shook his head and took in lungfuls of air.[Rainbow dash and the other mares couldn't hold back the laughter they tried to stop as Link blushed, "I'm snrk sorry Link." Rainbow said while on the floor. "I'm just going to skip to after I got the Longshot." Link said, Twilight looked at him, "What's the longshot?" she asked through a fit of giggling. "It's a longer version of the hookshot I had." Link said and continued the story.]

Link drew his bow and sent off arrow after arrow, each one hitting a keese that was resting on the walls. Link then used his newly acquired Longshot to reach. [Link stopped himself, "Wait, would you like to hear the fight I had against myself?" he asked the mares. Rainbow dash nodded vigorously with an anticipating smile on her face. The others exchanged a look but agreed, they were still giggling a little.]

Link used his hookshot on platforms that were lowering out of a waterfall and into oblivion. He quickly shot at each eye picture on the ends of the platforms until he reached the top, and a locked door. He walked up to it and used the last key he had on it. The silver lock fell to the floor and Link continued on. On the other side of the door, the floor was covered in water that appeared like a mirror, it reflected a broken arch to the left of him without so much as a ripple as Link crossed the strange land to a lone tree in the center. He had a strange feeling about the tree but ignored it as he continued on to the next door. Bars fell on the door as Link reached it, "Of course." he muttered before he turned around to see a silhouette in front of the tree.

Link approached the silhouette cautiously. He stopped when he realized it was himself, as a shadow. The shadow drew it's sword and Link copied it, "Well, let's see how strong you've become." it said and slowly approached Link, "Time to die by your own hand!" it said before charging at Link. Link swung his sword as did the shade, the blades collided and bounced away from each other from the strength behind the strike, sparks flying off every time the blades clashed. Link tried attacking but the other Link copied his moves exactly. This angered Link as he thought, Is he copying me? "Stop copying me!" he yelled with a horizontal slice, his clone jumped onto his blade and smirked before swinging his blade, Link raised his shield barely blocking the strike but was kicked in the chest and fell onto his back. The shadow jumped and twisted the blade, aiming to pierce Link's heart. Link rolled over, the blade impaling itself in the mirroring water.

The clone laughed, "Do you think you can beat me? Can you beat yourself?" he asked as he pulled the false Master Sword out of the water. "Link, he's copying everything you do. Be careful." Navi warned Link, he focused on his clone. It walked towards him slowly, spinning the blade in his hand. Link picked himself up, he knew this fake would copy everything he did. Link in turn held up his sword and shield defensively as the shade approached, chuckling. Link focused on the clone and lunged, his clone jumped onto the blade, Link then immediately swung it up. The shadow was launched over Link and landed, rolling to get back onto his feet. "Hah!" Link yelled as he jump attacked the fake. Dark Link raised his shield to block the attack, the blade hit the shield and Link back flipped away before the other Link could get a hit in. The shade stood up and laughed, "That was close, but you still can't hurt me." he mocked.

Link tried staying calm, but he was still angry at Ganondorf. "After I kill you, nothing can possibly stop Lord Ganondorf." the clone said, Link's eyes widened then narrowed as they charged each other. Their blades clashed sending sparks everywhere, the Master sword was magical and would never lose it's edge, any other blade would have broken down by now. Link feigned a lunge and did a spin attack instead, catching the clone off guard and injuring him. He held his stomach where the blade had sliced but still stood up. "Well this may be fun." he said, while Link stood his ground. The shade stood back and watched the original as they circled each other. "Link, he may be a clone but you can beat him." Navi encouraged, Link waited a short moment before he drew his bow and shot several arrows, the clone just raised his shield to block them. Link then ran at his clone with his blade drawn. The shade tried swinging his own blade but froze as Link's sword passed through his abdomen. He fell to his knees and stabbed the sword into the ground, he looked at Link, "You've grown stronger." he smirked, "Go kill Ganondorf Link." he said before his entire body burned with a pained scream emitting the clone.

Link sheathed his sword and saw the room that seemed endless change into a real room with water covering the floor. The door the blocked him off had opened. Link entered and opened the large chest, inside was the Longshot. ["The monster turned out to be a large eye that controlled water. The fight lasted about a minute." Link said ending the water temple as he looked out the window.(I'm skipping the boss fight because I don't find him worthy.)]

--------------------------Chamber of the Sages----------------------------

Link arrived, landing softly on the center platform. The blue platform in front of him glowed and Princess Ruto appeared, "Link. I would expect no less from the man I chose to be my husband. Zora's domain shall eventually return to it's original state. As a reward I grant my eternal love to you." she said shocking Link again. [The mares managed to stiffen a laugh, besides Rarity who leaned in closer to hear everything Link said.] "What!? Uh." Link stopped as Ruto held up her hand to silence him. "That's what I would like to say... But I don't think I can offer that now." she said sadly. "I have to guard the Water temple and my people. You. You're searching for the princess Zelda?" she asked, Link took a step back as his former fiancee said, "Hah! You can't hide anything from me! Princess Zelda is alive, I sense it. So don't be discouraged. I can tell that nothing can stop you on your quest for Justice and peace." Link thanked her and she winked at him before he was warped back to Hyrule with one last thing, "Link, if you see Sheik give him my thanks please."

Link appeared above the water temple on the lake to see the water rise back to it's original size. Sheik was there at the edge, conveniently as Link appeared. Link smiled and ran to him, "Sheik! Princess Ruto wanted to thank you." he said as the Sheikah faced him. "Princess Ruto wanted to thank me? Well then we hae to bring peace to Hyrule for her sake too. Don't we?" he asked, Link nodded and Sheik turned back to the lake, "Look at this Link. Thanks to you and Ruto the lake has returned to it's former glory. Everything is as it once was." Link followed Sheik to the edge and looked out over the lake. Sheik stepped away from Link, he turned around to see that Sheik had disappeared. He ran to the center and looked around only to hear a splash from the lake. He turned back to see ripples spread across the once calm waters. He smiled.

Navi floated over a tombstone, "Hey! Link look at this!" she said bringing Link over. He looked at the grave, it read: Shoot into the morning sun and thou shall be given the power to ignite anything. Link looked up as the sun was still rising, he pulled out his bow and sent an arrow flying into the sun. It stopped and floated down onto a small platform on the other side of the ripples. He swam to it and picked up the arrow, it felt warm in his hand, "Link! You can use magic to light your arrows on fire now." Navi said as Link put the new item away. "Let's go back to Kakariko." Link said as his stomach growled, "I'm starving."

-----------------------------------Kakariko village------------------------------

As Link entered he saw Sheik again standing at the well. "Sheik!" he ran up to his friend, "Get back Link!" he yelled, and Link complied as the wooden brace on the well flew off and landed behind Link. He turned to it as Sheik stared into the well. Sheik stepped back and looked around as he felt an evil presence. Link turned back, "What's-" he was cut off as Sheik was raised above the ground and was shaken violently around before being thrown behind Link. He watched Sheik face plant at the base of the steps. Link turned to face the strange being and drew his sword. He saw a shadow escape the well and streak across the floor towards him. He raised his shield as it came closer. Link tried fighting it but lost miserably.

He woke up several minutes later with Sheik leaning over his unconscious body. "So you're finally coming around." he said as Link sat up. "Link a horrible thing has happened! The evil shadow spirit that was trapped in the well has escaped! Impa, the leader of the Kakariko, trapped the spirit in there. It grew so powerful that it escaped. Impa went to the Shadow temple to seal it again. But she'll be in danger without help! You have to help her. This is the melody that will draw you into the infinite darkness... and absorb even time. Listen to this the Nocturne of shadow!" he said before taking the lyre out. He put it away, "Let me take care of the Village Link." he said before walking into one of the houses there.

[Link stops the story, "Well it turned out I couldn't go on until I found the Lens of Truth." he said pulling out said lens. "What does that do?" Twilight asked, "This lens allows one to see the truth, no matter how concealed another may think it is. This can be done without the lens, but it takes years of practice." Link said as he told of the creature he had to fight to acquire the Lens. Dead hand. The monster with skin that seemed to stretch itself along it's own body. It's arms ended in stumps, but there were large versatile arms that rose from the ground, they'd hold you down while the actual monster rose from the ground and ate you alive with it's long neck. the mares shivered as they heard the description.]

Link entered the Shadow temple, there were braziers surrounding an elevated platform, this room led to a dead end. Link stood on the platform and looked around, the braziers were in a circular path around the platform. Link used Din's fire, he pulled his arms back then swung them and slammed his left palm into the floor, a dome of fire surrounded Link and expanded, igniting all the braziers at once. Link smiled as a wall rose. He entered. ["Link is there going to be more puzzles?" Rainbow dash asked, Link nodded and she groaned, "Can you please skip to the end then?" she asked he nodded, "Okay but the entire time I was in this temple I could hear the dead speaking around me it sounded like they were being tortured at some parts." he said, this intrigued Rainbow dash, "Okay but skip the boring parts." Link smiled]

Link entered the temple, first through a small tight corridor that led to a pit with a target on the other side. Link shot it with his longshot and hoisted himself onto the other side. He approached what seemed like a wall. It spoke Only those with the 'Eye of truth' can bet the shadow. it said. Link pulled out the lens and looked through it, the wall disappeared, revealing a room behind it. Link entered, still holding the lens, in the center of the room a large eagle statue stood pointing at an empty pole. Link put the lens down and saw that on every pole there was a skull. He raised the lens again, all but one disappeared. (skipping to after door opens)

Link used the lens to find the opening in the walls. He found it and ran past the seemingly solid wall. He kept the lens over one eye but stopped as he heard another disembodied voice "Only the one with the eye of truth can see through the darkness." it said. Link continued on. He found another entrance and ran to it but stopped, "Shadow temple... Here lies gathered all of Hyrule''s bloody history of greed and hatred " it said sending a shiver down Link's spine [And the mares]. He continued on. Past it was a short hallway he walked to the end and heard the voices again, " What is hidden in the darkness... Tricks full of ill will. You can't see the way forward. they seemed to taunt Link at this point. He ignored the voices repeating the same thing as he entered a door. Lo and behold six large arms stuck out of the ground. Link knew what awaited him.

He drew his sword and steeled his nerves and approached one of the hands. It reacted and held his head tightly, the palm was resting against his face, it smelled like it was rotting and soaked in blood. Link saw the creature rise out of the ground to his right, he instantly started fighting to get free. It didn't take much to release the hands hold on him, a quick, strong pull and he was free. He stepped away from the hands and watched the creature approach slowly, it's neck towering over Link about three feet. It seemed faceless but Link knew it had one at the end of the neck. He waited until the creature lowered it's head to bite him, that was when he struck, a quick vertical slash cut the face cleanly in two. The creature screamed and fell to the side it's jaw opened wide enough to swallow Link's shoulders.

Link watched the creature rot before his eyes as a chest appeared inside said chest was a pair of gleaming golden boots with small golden wings on the side. "The hover boots. They'll let you float above the ground! One problem... No traction!" the voices said, Link ignored them and put the boots on. They made him feel lighter, he smirked and took a step, the boot slid out from underneath him and he fell onto his back. He stood up and took a few minutes to regain his balance before he continued. He reached the first room with the gaping pit under the door. Link looked down and tossed a rock in. He never heard it hit the floor. He took a deep breath and ran to the edge. The boots slid him across the bottomless pit, he looked at them and saw a golden light acting like a floor beneath him, the slide ended just short of the door and the glowing stopped. Link fell through the air. Stopping as he gripped the edge.

"I didn't know they had a time limit." Link muttered as Navi flew out of his hat, "Link are you okay?" He nodded as he stood up, nearly falling from the lack of traction. He opened the door and continued his quest.

---------------------------later--------------------------

Link was walking through this dungeon, after taking off the boots, he could still hear the voices of the dead speaking around him, they were telling the story of the Shadow spirit, it was the legend of the 'Shadow Thief'. He ignored them and the cold sensation he was getting the deeper he went. He heard a familiar whistling sound, and rolled forward just as a wall master fell from the sky. ["A wall master is a large scaly hand that grabs you and drops you off in some random place." Link explained while putting his own hand on the floor to simulate it. the mares nodded bewildered at the strange monsters they were glad didn't exist.] Link entered a room where there were only small paths to go through and a large bottomless pit to either side. He saw some chains off to his left and a platform raising and falling deep into the black void below. He used his lens to see if the floor was fake, it wasn't but there were platforms on the chains to his left. He put the lens away and focused ahead, there were small gates that were guillotines, the large blade rose and fell without aid since he had arrived.

Shnk, shnk, shnk that was the only sound in the room, with the occasional sound of a scream of a victim who had fallen to his death as it faded. Link hated being here, the atmosphere alone he didn't mind, but the voices and the screams, were the only things worrying him. He passed the guillotines and onto a square block were he was attacked by a Stalfos. He dispatched it quickly before moving on.

--------------------------Later still.--------------------------------

Link had reached a large boat floating on top of a fog. He pulled a large stone out of the way of a large chain link ladder and pushed it to the wooden ladder that led to the boat. He climbed onto the boat and saw a tri-force symbol on it, he stepped onto it and played the royal song. The bells on the front of the boat jingled and the boat slowly crept forward, moving up and down as if it were being pushed by unseen waves. Link used his lens to see there was nothing acting on the boat. He rode the boat, fighting off every enemy that climbed on from the foggy abyss. The boat reached the end and hit a wall, it froze before slowly sinking, "Link! The boat's sinking we need to get off now!" Navi yelled, Link jumped off the boat and landed on the floor. He saw a door ahead but was stopped by a gap too wide to jump and too wide to use the boots. But he saw bomb flowers on a statue on the far side. he shot them with an arrow.

They exploded and the statue fell across the gap and formed a bridge, before Link crossed he saw another door on this side, he entered it to be met with three other doors, and three wall masters. What confused him was they hadn't attacked him yet, he used the lens to see a wall right in front of him. He smiled and used the lens to enter the door closes to him. It was a trap, he entered the door locked behind him and two wooden walls bearing long spikes closed in. Link saw that to his right through a crack was the very ornate chest that held the big key. Link used Din's fire again, it turned the trap into ashes and burned two Re-dead to a crisp. He took the big key and left before the wall masters could even come close. He crossed the bridge and entered the door on the other side.

Inside was the door with the large lock on it. He used his lens and found a path way he could take to get there. He reached it without a problem and entered the large door. Inside was a single hole in a small domed room. Link used the lens but couldn't find anything. He sighed and looked at the hole. "Well here goes nothing." he said before jumping into the hole. A yell escaped his mouth but stopped when he landed, expecting to injure himself, instead the ground bounced him up with a deep beat. He looked at it, he was standing on a very over sized drum. He Felt the canvas but stopped when it started vibrating. He turned around to see a large creature, it had a large eye with what appeared to be skin hanging around the neck. Two large hands were also floating and beating the drum, three beats: THUMP, thump, thump, thump, THUMP and so on. Link heard the stories but didn't think it was true, but this creature had bone showing behind the floating hands, the bone was connected to the large body on the sides where Link guessed the shoulders had to be.

The skin around the eye closed and the body disappeared leaving the hands to continuously beat the canvas. Link used the lens but couldn't attack the eye, it was being shielded by the skin wrapped around it. one of the hands stopped playing and swiped at Link. He ducked and stabbed upwards when it was above him, the hand froze and the other one attacked, Link shot it with his bow before it came close. The hands then shook and balled into fists, Link used the lens to see the skin moved from the eye and the whole entity charged at Link. He shot the eye with a single fire arrow. It collapsed onto the canvas making Link bounce into the air. He landed in front of the burning eye and swung his sword until Bongo-Bongo rose, his hands started beating an irregular beat while the body thrashed around. The beat slowed to a halt before Bongo-Bongo disintegrated into nothingness.

----------------------------------------Chamber of the sages.----------------------------------

Link gazed upon the Sage of Shadow, Impa. She stood with her arms crossed as if she had been waiting for decades. "The boy with the noble Zelda's ocarina. I knew you'd come." she said. "We Sheikah have worked for the royal family from generation to generation as caretakers. However..." she began. "On that day seven years ago Ganondorf attacked Hyrule castle and they surrendered soon after. His target was the treasure of the royal family the Ocarina of time! The same Ocarina you wield now. The last time I saw you, you were just a lad. Now you've become an excellent hero." she congratulated him. "Where's Zelda do you know?" Link asked her. She nodded, "Do not worry. You will meet her soon enough, and she will explain everything then." Link nodded as he was warped out. "Please look out for the princess!" She said before Link arrived back in the graveyard. "Only one more temple to go." Link and Navi said together.

-------------------------------------------Desert---------------------------------------

Link rode Epona through the desert after jumping the broken bridge. ["Link can you skip ahead?" Rainbow asked, Link nodded, "Sure."] Link entered the large temple to find a wall blocked off by a large granite block. The other way was a hole only a small child could fit in. Link shook his head, he knew what he had to do. He sighed and left the temple. Outside he met up with Sheik again. He approaches Link, "Past, present, future. The Master sword is a ship with which you can sail upstream and downstream through time's river." he began. "The port for that ship is in the Temple of time. To restore the desert colossus you must go back through time's flow. Listen to this, the Requiem of spirit. This song shall lead a child back to the desert." he said taking out the Lyre.

Sheik bows to Link. Link walks closer to Sheik but gets stopped by a convenient dust storm. He sighs when he couldn't see Sheik anymore. ["I'm going to just skip this next part. Nothing really happened to me as a child there." Link said, "Besides getting my silver gauntlets." Link said pulling them out. "These are beautiful! why are they so big?" Rarity asked, her gaze never leaving the silver gloves, "Oh these are adult sized. Nabooru, the Gerudo leader, allowed me to have them after saving the desert." he said proudly. Rarity levitated the gauntlets and looked them over a glint in her eyes. She took a sharp breath, "Ideaaa!" she exclaimed in a sing song voice. She cleared her throat and waved a hoof at Link, "Please continue dear."]

Link wore the silver gauntlets wielding the mirror shield. He entered a room inside was a large armored guard wielding a giant iron double handed axe. The two witches were flying above it. "Ho, ho, ho! Looks like someone's here Koume." One of the witches said. "He, he, he! Looks like it Kotake." the other said. They floated over to LInk, "What an outrageous fellow he is, to intrude so boldly into our temple." the red witch said. "We should teach this outrageous fellow a lesson, "The blue witch said. They then floated to the large body of armor, "Destroy this intruder on our behalf!" they said together before disappearing. The armor rose and Link drew his sword. The armor slowly walked towards Link, Link swung his sword and got a few hits in before he jumped back to avoid a swing from it's axe. He continued this until the Iron Knuckle was defeated. The armor fell off the body, and underneath was Nabooru, She fell to her hands and knees, "Where am I?" she asked as she looked around .

The witches came back, "Oh she's free." the red witch said, "Maybe we should force her to work for Ganondorf." the blue witch said, "And brainwash her again." The red witch said they laughed and blasted her with their magic before leaving again. Link tightened his grip on the Master sword, "Stay calm Link, you shouldn't attack while you're angry." Navi said. Link put the sword and shield away. He went through the door behind the chair Nabooru was in.

-------------------------Boss room--------------------

Link entered the room where the witches had gone to. They cackled, "Look at the stupid kid, he's come to offer himself as a sacrifice to the great Ganondorf!" they cackled again. They rose out of two magic circles on two pillars outside of the platform Link was on. "With my flame, I'll burn him to the bone." the red witch said, her hair turning into fire. The blue witch rose out of a similar circle, "With my frost I'll freeze him to his soul!" she said, her hair turning into solid ice. They circled Link before floating around the edge of the platform. Link immediately drew his bow and shot a fire arrow at the ice witch, she froze it in mid-air before the circle she came out of appeared and she charged an ice attack. She pulled her broom, turned staff, over her shoulder and swung it, to point the frozen end at Link sending out a beam of ice. Link raised the mirror shield to defend himself and wait for the ice to freeze him.

Link felt something hit the shield but nothing happened, he looked over his shield and saw the beam reflecting back at the witch. He saw the fire witch floating nearby and turned the shield, the beam nearly reached her before going out. Link kept his sword and shield out as they circled him more. He waited until one shot the beam and he reflected it onto the other witch. This process was hurting them, several reversed beams later they stopped blasting him and circled closer and faster, "Okay let's get serious Kotake." the ice witch said. "Oh, okay Koume." the fire witch said as their circling went faster. Link watched this knowing he had to wait for them to attack before he could hurt them. "Kotake and Koume's double dynamite attack!" they yelled in unison as their magic enveloped them in a mix of fire and ice.

The magic dispelled and revealed a younger looking woman with half of her hair frozen and the other half flaming. She held two staffs, one ice and the other fire. Link reeled from the sight and the enemy, Twinrova, winked at Link before floating away. Link shot the fire arrow again, Twinrova deflected it and laughed. She raised the ice staff and swung it at Link, sending an ice wind at him. He blocked it, but instead of returning it the shield began to glow white, it also felt cold against his gauntlets. Twinrova ignored this and sent a fire blast, Link blocked it, only to have the white glow disappear. She laughed and sent another fire blast at Link, he blocked it, the shield glowed red and felt warm. She shot a second fire blast, he blocked it, the shield grew warmer. She then threw an ice blast. Link realized that the opposite would take away whatever effect a single magic had on his shield so he jumped to the side.

The ice blast hit the floor and it immediately froze over. Even from several feet away Link felt the cold, Twinrova laughed again and sent out a fire blast. Link blocked it, nearly slipping on the ice. The shield grew hotter and Link watched, wide eyed, as a flame shot out of the shield. Link wasted a second before approaching Twinrova with the flame, that died out as he approached. Twinrova winked at him before sending an ice blast. Link repeated his process, block, block, avoid. When he avoided the fire blast, it exploded in a fiery inferno. Link watched it burn a small black hole in the floor. He felt a shiver go down his spine as he witnessed the power this witch's magic had.

He caught the third ice blast and ran towards her. The blizzard escaping Link's shield hit her and she fell to her knees. Link hopped over and drew his sword to attack the witch. He got a few hits in before she started to rise. Link hopped back over the gap between the pillars and the platform to repeat what he had just done. Several attacks later the platform was almost covered in soot or frozen over. Link was panting, he had gotten grazed by an ice blast, his left arm felt numb. The shield was glowing red from the fire blasts. Twinrova angrily sent out a fire blast, Link caught it and sent the resulting flame at her. She fell to her knees like the other times, and Link hopped over to give the final blow. A vertical slice going skyward. Twinrova screamed and hovered above Link before slumping and floating to the center of the platform. Link followed and watched as she reverted back to the twin witches. "Shoot! What a fresh kid! We'll get serious this time right Kotake?" the red witch said as a white light surrounded them and two halos hovered above their heads. The blue witch, Kotake, stared at it, "What? Hey Koume what is that thing above your head?" she asked her sister.

Koume turned to Kotake and looked above her head, "I don't know but you have one over your head too Kotake!" they turned back to Link, then looked at their halos then back to Link. "But I'm only 400 years old!" Koume screamed, "And I'm just 380 years old!" Kotake followed her twin sister. Koume looked at her sister, "We're twins! Don't try to lie about your age!" she screamed at her. "You must have gone senile!" Kotake yelled back. "Who are you calling senile! Is that how you talk to your older sister?" Koume retorted. Link was staring at the bickering witches, too shocked to say anything. "We're twins! How could you be older?!" Kotake screamed. They continued bickering until they floated up the light that surrounded them. Before they disappeared they called out one last thing, "I'll come back to haunt you!" Link stared at the sky where the light had taken them, he snapped out of his daze when a blue light enveloped him.

He gently landed on the small platform, facing the final Sage, Nabooru. She smiled, "Hey kid. Let me thank you." she began before laughing, "Look at what the kid has become in seven years... A competent swordsman!" she mocked him before continuing, "By the way, I messed up. I was brainwashed by those evil witches and forced to do Ganondorf's evil will. But isn't it funny that a person like me could turn out to be the sage?" she laughed to herself. "And now I can fight them as one of the six sages. I'm going to pay them back for what they did to me!" she said making a silent vow to herself before turning back to Link, "Kid, No... The hero of Time. Instead of keeping my promise back then, You can keep my gauntlets, use them to kill Ganondorf." she said Link shook his head and went to take them off, "No, take them! As a gift." Link smiled and thanked her before he was teleported out.

He heard one last thing before he left, "If only I knew you would become such a handsome man. I should have the promise I made back then." Link landed in the temple of time, with the pedestal of time in front of him. He heard Rauru's voice, "Link, the Hero! Now is the time for the final showdown with the Evil King himself. But first you must meet the one who is waiting for you at the entrance to the Temple." Link curiously glanced around the large room and shrugged to his partner Navi. "Well let's go meet this person." she said as they left the room. Waiting at the entrance was Sheik, Link smiled and ran to him. "I've been waiting for you." he said. "You've been through many hardships, awakening the six sages, and now it's time to take on Ganondorf. But first I have things I need to tell you first. Please listen." Link gave him a curious glance but nodded, "Alright Sheik." he approached Sheik as he began, "Seven years ago Ganon, the King of theives, entered the sacred realm through the door you opened."

"When he touched the Tri-force it split into three: Power, wisdom, and courage. Ganondorf was given the Tri-force of power. It gave him the strength to take over Hyrule, but that didn't satisfy his greed. He's searching for the other two chosen by destiny to bear the Tri-force of Courage, and Wisdom." He said, "The one who bears the Tri-force of courage. Is you Link." He said pointing at Link, "And the one who bears the Tri-force of wisdom. Is the seventh sage, the one who will be the leader to them all." Sheik lifted his arms to his sides and crossed them in front of his chest. An image of the Tri-force appeared on the back of his hand. It made a large flash, Link shielded his eyes with an arm. When he moved his arm he was shocked to see the person standing before him.

"Princess Zelda!" he said with a confused smile, "I'm sorry I had to meet you in disguise but it had to be done to keep the King of Evil from finding me. Please forgive me." she said Link smiled, "I forgive you Princess." Link said as Zelda approached him, her pink dress hovering just above the floor. "I'm glad you do. On that day seven years ago, I gave you the Ocarina. I thought that was our best chance. But I never knew the master sword would seal your spirit in the Sacred realm. Ganondorf retrieved the Tri-force and the Sacred realm became one of evil. I had passed myself off as a Sheikah as I waited seven years." she put her hands together, fingers interlocked, "But now you're here and Ganon's reign will end!" she said smiling. "Ganon's castle is being protected by six spells. I give you this magic, a magic bestowed only to the chosen ones. The sacred Arrow of Light!" she raised her arms and a yellow light appeared above her head. Out of the Light came a single arrow, completely silver and glowing with power. Link knew, added with his arrows, he could make more Light arrows. He took the arrow and put it away. They looked into each other's eyes but stopped when an earthquake started.

"That rumbling. It can't be!" Zelda said before a barrier trapped her. Link ran up to it and started slamming his fist into it, as a feeble attempt to free Zelda. "Princess Zelda you foolish traitor." Ganondorf's voice rang throughout the temple. "I commend you for avoiding my pursuit for seven long years." he continued "But you let your guard down. I knew I would find you if I let this kid wander around." Zelda and Link started beating on the barrier, "My only mistake was slightly underestimating this kid. No I underestimated the power of the Tri-force of Courage! But now with Zelda, I will take the last two parts and become the true ruler of the world!" he laughed as Zelda disappeared with the barrier. Link balled up his fists, "This ends now Ganon!" he yelled at the sky before he ran out of the temple.

(It's almost over, the next chapter is going to be mainly the fight. I'm going to skip the whole castle, besides getting the golden gauntlets, and getting straight to the fight.)
