Sunset Shimmer has just graduated from Canterlot High School, and while that would normally be cause for celebration, it fills her only with a nameless dread as her friends begin to scatter to the winds to pursue their futures. With the latent magic of the human world contained and categorized and the Rainboom's idyllic days of schoolwork over, she finds herself without aim and listless, as though something important is missing from her life.

Fortunately for her, Princess Twilight Sparkle might know what ails her.

So. First time posting on the site after a VERY long period of lurking and reading and enjoying the tales this fandom can produce. To my surprise, I found a dearth of a certain subset of story that I wanted to read, and so I have done this, to put my thoughts to words. After all, it is said that one should write the story they want to read, yes? I've been inspired by a variety of stories like it that came before, and I hope to equal their quality.

I'll try to update roughly once every couple of weeks; please be patient with me and I hope you give this tale a once-over. Pre-emptively tagging with AU, that I might diverge freely from what may come if needed.

In an alternate universe where Sunset Shimmer has made the difficult decision to return to her home world, the young unicorn must face a past she has been avoiding and learn a lesson in friendship that she won't soon forget. It hasn't been easy, but her time in Equestria has produce a positive rate of progress towards an eventual goal of self integration back into Pony Society. And although others might have forgiven her for what she has done- has she the strength to forgive herself and move on?

On the one hoof, she has Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and her most current confidant. On the other, her old mentor, Princess Celestia and ruler of all Equestria. Although she cares for both, she finds herself conflicted by her past actions and unable to chose whom she should resume her lessons with...and whether or not she deserves a second chance at a brighter tomorrow.

Please note that any characters or plots from EQG - Legend of Everfree or from MLP: FiM (season 6 and on) are not considered as part of this universe and will not be fully referenced.

• Rarity: A student of Canterlot High, owner, fashionista and seamstress of Carousel Boutique, and student of the Crane Style.
• Fluttershy: A student of Canterlot High, caretaker of animals, veteran, and student of the Viper Style.
• Pinkie Pie: A student of Canterlot High, premier party planner, worker at Sugarcube Corner, and student of the Monkey Style.
• Flash Sentry: A student of Canterlot High, guitarist and Sunset’s ex-boyfriend.
• Principal Celestia: Principal of Canterlot High, and master of the Dragon Style of Kung Fu.
• Vice-Principal Luna: Vice-principal of Canterlot High, and master of the Dragon Style of Kung Fu along with her older sister.
• Po: A giant panda beastman who is clumsy, works at Ping’s, the Dragon Warrior, and master of the Panda Style of Kung Fu.
• Master Shifu: A red panda beastman who is a master of the red panda style, the master of the Furious Five and Po
• Tigress: A south china tiger beastman who is hardcore, a disciplined master of the Tiger Style of Kung Fu, the leader and strongest of the Furious Five
• Viper: A viper snake beastman who is kind, a courageous master of the Viper Style of Kung Fu, the mother hen and most elusive of the Furious Five
• Monkey: A golden snub-nosed monkey beastman who is upbeat, a compassionate master of the Monkey Style of Kung Fu, the jokester most unpredictable of the Furious Five
• Mantis: A praying mantis beastman who is fast, a patient master of the Mantis Style of Kung Fu, the acupuncturist and fastest of the Furious Five
• Crane: A crane beastman who is cool-headed, a confident master of the Crane Style of Kung Fu, the defender and most balanced of the Furious Five
• Master Oogway: An elderly galápagos tortoise beastman who is Master Shifu, Principal Celestia, and Vice-Principal Luna’s master, master of the Tortoise Style of Kung Fu and the developer of Kung Fu.
• Tai Lung: A snow leopard beastman who is a villain, master of the Leopard Style of Kung Fu, and former student of Master Shifu.
• Mr. Ping: A goose beastman who is Po’s father, chef and owner of the noodle shop, Ping’s.

Spike longed for years to have a family of his own. With Twilight's help, he applies for adoption.

This story's update frequency is incredibly sporadic, but I promise, no matter what happens, no matter how long it takes, this story will reach completion. (Update 12/28/22: YES, I PROMISE I'M STILL WORKING ON IT!)

I am now Princess Luna, and it’s not as fun as you might think. I don’t know what’s going on, how I got here, or what I’m going to do. Princess Celestia thinks I’m crazy, that I’ve lost my mind…

But something tells me I’m stuck here… so one way or another, I’m going to have to get used to this new life. Now if only I could figure out this stupid Magic stuff...

A couple years after moving out of the Crystal Empire castle to live alongside and more like their subjects, Princess Cadence and Shining Armor decide that they are ready to have a foal. They got twin alicorn fillies, and couldn't be happier (they tried).

One of these fillies is Skyla, and aside from being an alicorn, is pretty much normal. The other one is Inova, a (literally) reborn human.

Maggie Wilson (27), on a smoke break from her dead end convenience store job in the California mountains, encounters the divine god-princess of a dead world. The princess asks for her help. Mag says yes.
