Yeah i tweaked his age so he would be taller and to give him more time to gain the experience. In this story he is the yardmaster but he is happy to get any extra jobs done. His kind of role as a character is an employer who leads by example from the "Frontline" so to speak. He symbolizes the leader who gets down in the nitty gritty to show that not all higher ups just sit in the office.

I mean I know whats gonna happen cuz i re purposed Morning Star but with one major difference. Sunset doesn't eventually get scrapped like Morning Star did. In Tales from the War locomotives it was kept closer to real life like Tales of British Railways by Simon A.C. Martin in which some were going to die in the end and some preserved.

Nice little chapter to introduce The Crusaders and set up the rest of their gang! I love that you gave Apple Bloom an American (Amareican?)-built basis, same as AJ.
One criticism though. In the future it might help to do a little more research on your locos. Having a standard gauge garret picture for an NG character kind of breaks the pace and visuals for the reader. If you're still looking for loco bases for the rest of the filly/colt characters, I would suggest looking at the Ffestiniog, Welsh highland railway, or the Puffing Billy and Maine 2-fters.
