For almost a thousand years, the immortal Nightmare Moon has reigned over Equestria as Empress. To the average pony, Nightmare Moon is an overarching enigma whose rule is absolute and whose wrath is terrible. But to Twilight Sparkle, who as an orphan has never known her parents, the Empress is something else entirely. When the young unicorn is brought under the royal wing as an apprentice, she learns a great deal more about the supposed tyrant than she ever knew. But as Twilight is introduced to life with her new mentor, she is thrust into a world of political intrigue, conspiracies and secrets. Secrets that were never meant to be revealed. As allies and enemies plot against the very peace of the nation, will Twilight fall prey to the perils of her new position? Or will she prosper and find in Nightmare Moon the mother she never had?

After a horrible accident, Twilight Sparkle falls into a deep coma. Will Twilight wake up? Will anything ever be the same?

She has no name, no past, and no memories. Day in and day out, she has existed in a small cell. It's all she's ever known. On the surface, she's comfortable with her routine life. But there are questions lingering in her mind. Who is she? Was there ever anything else? Did something happen to her?

When she gets an unexpected visit from a purple unicorn, her world is quickly turned upside down. Is ignorance really bliss?

I intend to release more chapters as I find time to write them, and I have a list of themes and situations I’d like to explore. It has been over two hundred years since Discord, the god of chaos, and Nightmare Moon - or Pleasant Dreams as she's now known as - bringer of eternal night, were released from their prisons. Surprisingly, everything went better than expected; they have become successful co-rulers of Equestria. But that's not the shocking part. Twelve years ago, they had a child; Lucid Dream, a Draconequus filly with the powers of a god at her disposal. She'll be driving everybody up the walls, though she'll have to be careful; her aunt Princess Celestia has eyes everywhere and her teacher knows all the tricks of the trade. But Dream has many friends, and whether or not her parents want her to, she's going to she's going to be stirring up quite a bit of chaos.

Because sometimes Equestria is just crazy.

On behalf of the Canterlot University of Electrical Engineering, Princess Celestia sends her star pupil a mysterious contraption she wants her to take for "beta testing".

A mysterious, new invention dubbed the "Xbox 360".

Shenanigans and hilarity will ensue.
