Set in an alternate version of the Ponyville we're familiar with, Cupcakes: The Musical blends elements of our favorite horror story with the musical fun of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Here's the story:
This musical tells the story of Pinkamena Diane Pie, alias Pinkie Pie, who returns to Ponyville after 15 years' exile to the Everfree Forest on false charges. When she learns from her former landlady Rarity that her best friend has died, due the actions of the friendship-hungry Judge Twilight Sparkle (who's bought the "loyalty" of Rainbow Dash), she vows revenge in the best ways she knows: through baking and singing!

Credit goes to Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler for the 1979 musical from which the music is drawn and Sergeant Sprinkles for the story from which this draws inspiration.

Can you imagine how exhausting that would be? Try to, because then you might understand just why I listened to Vinyl's idea. Going around, telling your foal Krampus will give you coal if you're naughty? That's not too far removed from the usual Santa Hooves story, and if it can buy me a few days of peace and quiet before Hearth's Warming? Well, I'll take what peace I can get.

All stories here are meant to flesh out and enhance the characters of the Royal Ponyville Orchestra, so while I would highly recommend reading that story before reading these it is not absolutely necessary as each story is designed to stand on its own.

I really just... Sure, I thought having a bachelorette party would be nice. Certainly, after the year I had, I wouldn't say no to a relaxing weekend in Canterlot with my friends, but instead, I get Bon-Bon confessing that she's a secret agent, and oh yes, she wants me to do a little light espionage for her. There are roughly a hundred things wrong with that statement, but by far, the worst one is that I, Octavia Melody, bastion of rationality, agreed to help her.

Note: The first three chapters are the story. The last two chapters are the originally published drafts that I'm keeping around in case someone actually preferred that version of events and so I have a monument to the fact that I can make some really stupid writing decisions sometimes.

A mysterious potion offers her a chance to feel young again, and with Vinyl's youth restored, Octavia suddenly finds herself having to figure out how to raise a teenager, a teenager who is also her wife, and wants nothing more than to hop in bed with Octavia. If only she could have a drink.

This story is something of a special project. I aim to write, edit, and publish a story a day. The rules are simple, each chapter must be written and edited in one day, and I must publish an update every day. I have gifted myself a five day backlog to allow for days where I am completely unable to write due to travel, work, or illness. If I fail my challenge, I will still try to do two chapters in one day, and if I fail that, I will just try to carry on and make sure there are as few failed days as possible. Hopefully, I will see you at the end of the month with a flawless record behind me.

Something's going on. First, Applejack comes in Thursday and says we should go to Manehattan this weekend, then the second she steps hoof off the train, she starts dressing up, drops the accent, and says we should take in a show. I'm not sure what's going on, I think it's got something to do with her snooty aunt and uncle, but whatever it is, I'm going to get to the bottom of it, or my name isn't Rainbow Dash.

Disclaimer: To readers not familiar with the Orchestra-verse, Sweetie and Scootaloo are the leads in their own story, and they've come a long way from their show counterparts. This story is perfectly accessible without reading those works, just know they'll be behaving differently than they would in the show (and are substantially older, though that's a bit more obvious in the story).
