Living in the Everfree Forest, an unknown creature has been bullying Fluttershy's animals. Twilight decides to help her tend to the wounded critters, since the yellow mare has been extremely overworked. The two come out of the experience a lot closer, but will it last? Twilight Sparkle must go to Ponyville to oversee the Summer Sun Celebration. She sends Spike to check on the preparations so she can study Nightmare Moon and the Elements of Harmony. She meets five unlikely ponies that may turn out to be her friends and the key to defeating Nightmare Moon, as well as other challenges.
