"No Glory Won" Character Sheet

"No Glory Won" Character Sheet

A list of characters present in No Glory Won that are worth mentioning. The list will be updated as time passes.

Main Characters

  • Sunshine Tempest — Grey Coat, Amber Mane, Cerulean Eyes

Born in Ponyville, she lived most of her life in sublime quiet. She always was fond of quieter times, but beyond that, she doesn't talk about her past. Her cutie mark is the sun rising from clouds, but she admits she does not know what it means nor where it came from. She moved to Cloudsdale when she was with her parents. She met Night Light visiting Ponyville one lonely summer day, and the two have been close ever since. (See Prologue.) Years passed, and soon the two wished to start a new life together in Cloudsdale. Shortly after that, the Great War would drive them apart. (See Chapter 2)

Despite the odds being against her, Sunshine would survive the Great War—attributing her survival through sheer luck more than anything else. As for Sunshine’s comrades, however, faded into obscurity—their sacrifices and mission long forgotten by time. Since the war, her mind hasn’t been quite the same and she struggles to come to terms with her failures after witnessing Tartarus on earth for seven years…

  • Night Light — Lapis Coat, Silver Mane, Jade Eyes

Born in Cloudsdale, not much of her past life is worth mentioning, as she lived in quiet isolation until she met Sunshine one day in Ponyville. Her Cutie Mark resembles the northern star, orbiting a crescent moon. The two would visit one another as friends until eventually, they moved in together at Cloudsdale. Her life with Sunshine spanned only a few short months before she was enlisted in the ERAF (Equestrian Royal Air Force. (See Chapter 1)) There, she would be tutored beneath the wing of the legendary Rainbow Dash. She would teach Night Light how to conquer her fears, how to fly with grace, and how to defend Equestria.

Leader of the infamous Garuda Squadron, she and her trusted squadmates would slowly turn the tides of the air war against the Changelings—along with the unforeseen assistance of another individual. (See Chapter 8) After the war, she would try to go back to some semblance of normalcy in her life and to get away from her past… but not without struggle.

Night Light's Squadron

  • Naya — Crimson coat, with a Silver Mane, and Blue Eyes — Born in Stalliongrad territory, Naya is simultaneously calculative and emotional. She is known to be reliable, but unstable in the face of hardship. A talented singer, if not a little bit jaded to the world around her. (See Chapter 9) Her skill in flying cannot be questioned, as she has claimed a few victories under her belt.
  • Bigs (Big/Big Mouth) — Bear-Brown Coat, Hazelnut Eyes, and a Black Mane — Growing up with many brothers, Big Mouth (more commonly known as Big or Bigs) is known to be the eccentric one of Night’s group. Vulgar and reckless, he is a Stallion who only cares about getting the job done. He lacks grace at times, and he isn’t one to follow caution, but despite this, he shows ferocious loyalty. He would never forsake his friends and allies. He grew up in Dodge City and enlisted in the Air Force after coming of age. (See Chapter 10)
  • Lucky (Four Leaf) — Amber Coat, a Beige Mane, and Green Eyes. — Nicknamed Lucky, Four Leaf is a Stallion who boasts integrity and conduct. He was born and raised in a separated family that occasionally gets together for some holidays. Nopony knows why he was originally named Four Leaf, but what they do know is that he is the luckiest pony to ever exist; he explains that on more than one occasion, he has avoided what would’ve otherwise been certain trouble by thin margins. (See Chapter 10) He is known to be an optimist despite the circumstances.

Notable Side Characters

  • Bon Bon (Sweetie Drops) — Interrogator and Agent for S.M.I.L.E. Agency (Special Military Intelligence League of Equestria.) Responsible for uncovering Sunshine Tempest’s Past to help solve a concerning conspiracy. She was the pony responsible for arranging the abduction of Night Light and Sunshine Tempest (See Chapter 5)
  • Doc — Silver Coat. Golden Mane. Stallion. — Mysterious and Intelligent, ‘Doc’ (as he comes to call himself) is a pony who works for the S.M.I.L.E. Agency (a counter-intelligence department for Equestria.) Not much is known about his agenda, but he is responsible for helping Night Light after her crash in Mead Lake (See Chapter 8) as well as returning her crew home after the firebombing of Las Pegasus (See Chapter 11) He wishes to end the war in victory for Equestria, by any means necessary. Since the end of the war, however, Doc seemingly vanished off the face of the earth. (See Chapter 25)
  • Boltwing — One of Doc’s companions, a Griffon who aided in Doc’s endeavors. (See Chapter 8) She is diligent and loyal but prone to emotional outbursts. Hasn’t been seen since Night Light fled the Aigaion. (See Chapter 11)
  • Rainbow Dash — Tutor of Night Light, bearer of the element of Loyalty, one of the heroines of Equestria. She was the one who taught Night Light all she knew, every trick she had. She would only teach her so much before Night Light would be deployed, however. Night Light had only seen her once since then, and she was almost killed for it. (See Chapter 8)
  • Spitfire — Wing Leader of the Wonderbolts, Spitfire is stationed on the ERNS Pegasopolis with the rest of her squadron. Her presence has ensured that air supremacy over the oceans belongs to Equestria. She also saw potential in Night Light. Hasn’t been seen since the firebombing of Las Pegasus. (See Chapter 11)
  • Marja — Leader of the Hjortland Cell of the Olenian Resistance. Cautious and enigmatic, not much else is known about her origins and how she came to be part of the resistance. Only that she had been fighting a losing battle since the fall of Olenia. She found Sunshine’s team when they were attempting to find the bomb they were seeking, hoping to come across information about its whereabouts in Hjortland. (See Chapter 15) Since the battle of Hjortland, she hasn’t been seen since.
  • Princess Luna — Occasionally sighted by Sunshine Tempest, she remains an enigma to her. When she visited Sunshine Tempest in her supposed “final dream,” she was made aware of an insidious plot brewing in the shadows of Equestria. She intends to aid Sunshine, but her capabilities are limited. (See Interlude)
  • Bleeding Heart — Village Doctor of Hollowbark, settled down a year or so ago after the war. Was once a medic for the Equestrian Army until the war’s end, now he seeks reclusive isolation from his past. He pulled Sunshine Tempest back from the brink of death after her escapade from S.M.I.L.E. Agency. (See Chapter 24) Peach Coat, Gray Mane, Hazelnut Eyes.
  • Quinna — One of the Thestrals who aided in saving Sunshine’s life. (See Chapter 24) She was a medical assistant for Bleeding Heart, once upon a time, though nowadays she tends to keep to herself. She comes across as kind-of-heart and is willing to help if able. In the coming days, she will witness tumultuous changes in her life... Lavender eyes, dark grey coat, and a dull-silver mane.
  • Berry — Big Brother of Quinna, Berry aided Bleeding Heart in saving Sunshine’s life. (See Chapter 24) He also volunteered to let Night Light stay at his residence for the time being. Dutiful to his home and family, he was once a soldier of the Equestrian Army with his own uniform and weapon. Dark-blue coat, Jade eyes, with a Charcoal mane.
  • New Moon — Elder of the village Hollowbark. She survived the Manehattan Bombing in 1007 with Princess Luna, witnessing the “Miracle of Manehattan” firsthoof. Her faith in her supposed goddess was broken when she lived under the Changeling occupation during the Great War. With her belief in Luna shattered, she now lives as the jaded elder of Hollowbark, a village given to the Thestrals as a hollow reward for their sacrifice. (See Chapter 27) Mulberry Coat, Cyan/Milky eyes (her right eye is a glass eye) with a bright, though aged silver mane (more subdued in color compared to Quinna’s.)

NGW Sneak Peek #4 · 2:05am January 28th

I let go of a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. It left my throat sounding more like a guttural groan. One Quinna immediately took notice of with a concerned but otherwise cognizant crease in her brow.

“... Ugh. Am I right?” Quinna asked softly.
