Twilight Sparkle is good at planning. This does not correlate to her being good at chess.

Sadly the skit in question that this fic was inspired by is no longer available, so I rewrote and ponified it for the sake of posterity.

I have it in my playlist:

Loved reading it, even though I have seen the video before. I expected at one point a bit more derivation, but on the other hand this skit can't be topped and I would just be as confused as Twilight's opponent

The overanalyzing of Twilight is exactly how I imagine non chess players think chess player think, while in reality the mind is actually more like:
"I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing."

Well, that was pretty amusing. I've always wondered if they have chess in Equestria, and if they do, is Twilight any good at it. The only references we see to chess are in the Equestria Girls shorts.
