Remember what my mom said: a handshake is as good as a hug

I respectfully disagree.

only problem i had, is that you got twilight's mom name wrong.
Twilight Velvet.
other than that, i liked it.

For some reason the fact that they're both so grumpy in that picture makes it so much cuter.

I knew that when she said "We've never had a single fight." in the song she was obviously screwing with them. Everyone knows something is never perfect because nobody can actually go without a single flaw. :applejackunsure:

I've rarely ever had a heated moment with my little brother and close friend, and maybe just one thing I could loosely call a fight.

Its not hard for me to envision siblings that have never fought, and I think you are too cynical to dismiss it.

That doesn't mean them or their relationship is perfect, but it shows a sort of harmony between them.

Wow. You made me D'Aww. Hug for you.

3950082 Maybe she meant "not a single one worth bringing up ever again" or something like that. :raritywink:

Sweet story! /)

Everything was great with this story, except the name of Twily's mother : Star Sparkle
You do know that her canon name is Twilight Velvet, right? Any way, great story!

A very nicely told story. The pacing was smooth, the writing spot-on, and the perspective (Twilight's father) a good choice. I think it worked best to avoid taking either Twilight or Shining Armor's perspective during the course of their rift, however short-lived. You also didn't strain the narrative in order to effectively evoke some feels.

And as we say around my house, hugs are always available.

hugs from your adorable little sister embarrassing!?:pinkiegasp:

i call shenanigans, think of all the mares you could pick up with that adorable little fluff with you!

Cute, but relatable, little story. Although I was never truly introverted I did have trouble(as a child) discussing my problems, especially at length. You can fully understand tat although twilights father loves his child very much there is definitely that weight upon his shoulders. Definitely a good read if you're feeling down.

WHY CAN I ONLY GIVE THIS ONE LIKE!? I VOTE 1,000,000 LIKES. Karrakaz is best writer!

I CAN'T TELL WHAT MY FEELS ARE DOING

Awesomely written! So AWESOME :rainbowkiss::rainbowkiss::rainbowkiss::rainbowkiss::rainbowkiss:

I have a new favorite fic :scootangel::scootangel:

I have yet to read this fic. But I will say that the cover image already gave me diabetes. TOO MANY FEELS! :raritycry:

After reading it: YOU SON OF A BITCH! I HAVE ULTRA-DIABETES NOW!

Wonderful. A joy to read, and rather nostalgic at the same time. Beautifully written!

Speaking as an older brother, this was so my childhood! Well done, and indeed, Best Job in the World, even if it's the hardest! Also, -HUGS-!

*kitty hugs* Yeah, I know this style of sibling stuff. There may be problems, slight rifts, but nothing big enough that either would consider it a fight.

I had the exact inverse happen. Still makes sense though.

Lovely little story, nice look at the difference of intro and extrovert kids.
*Hugs*

But when you have a wife and two children at home, clocking out is when the hard part begins.

Being a father is harder than being an employee, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

So much truth here.

A lovely short story. Have an up-vote!

I usually don't like stories written in first person, as I've read too many that were awful, but this was splendid! You are a wonderful writer and I look forward to more of your work! :yay:

It's strange ya know, it seems that a lotmof people recently have been writing twilight stories. Is dhx sending us subliminal messages through the show? :twilightoops:

Brilliant story by the way, very refreshing and well written.

Everyone likes hugs! Anyone who doesn't is weird. Who's with me?

This was a cute little comparison on extroverts and introverts. I myself fall into the latter.

Filly Twilight is always fun to read about

Nice work!

DJRD

It's my introverted nature that made me identify with Twilight and get into the whole Brony fandom in the first place. First time I've ever truly identified with a character. You summed her up pretty well. And so many feels.

When in doubt arms out, give me a hug

...you want a hug? :rainbowhuh:

:trixieshiftleft: Hmmm...

...okay, but it will cost ya. :moustache:

:pinkiehappy:You get all of te hugs!!!!!!:pinkiehappy:

Amazing story with just the right amount of feels, Brilliant work

I'll give you a hug!
Ooo!Ooo! I want to too!:pinkiehappy:
Umm... So will I, if, umm, you don't mind, that is.:yay:
I will! I will!:derpytongue2:
As will I darling.:raritywink:
Sure thing Sugercube!:ajsmug:
What? Did you forget about me?!?:rainbowwild:
Indeed! The Great and Powerful Trixie also excels at hugging!:trixieshiftright:
CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS HUGGERS! YAY!!!:unsuresweetie::scootangel::applecry:

OMG the feels:fluttercry: made me wanna cry:raritycry: but yes take allllllllll of my hugs alll of them

That was short, but sweet and strangely pure. Very good ficlet here.

:pinkiehappy: Now who's up for a hug party?!

The picture didn't reveal much about the story itself... Almost misleading really.

But it's a good story nonetheless; I remember fighting my sister over a game controller. Those were good times, though I got scratched up something fierce. It was like trying to fight a cat the same size as you. :raritydespair:

Considering all the pasta going around about Shining and Twilight, especially headcanon theories I've read about why she didn't bother mentioning him to her crew prior to the wedding, I think Shining's concerns about his little purple sister hugging him randomly in public may have a comical basis to it... Imagine the mares he won't be picking up if they mistake her as his kid on first glance. :rainbowlaugh:

Shining was just being a jerk. There's nothing wrong with being close to your family. If worst comes to worst they'll be all you have, everyone else is fleeting. I was made fun of for giving my mom a hug one time, and I knocked out a bunch of the fuckwad's teeth. I don't fucking care what others think. No one should.

What a cute story.:twilightsheepish:
And that part about being asked not to raise ones hand during class.:facehoof:

Say umm one problem Star Sparkle isn't the mother of Twilight the mother of Twilight is Twilight Velvet
