It's that time of year again. The leaves are turning, the air is cooling, and the chimneys are smoking.
But to a young Shining Armor, this can only mean one thing: pony flu season has arrived. And, thanks to his mother, this inevitably means a date with the dreaded needle.
Only this time, Shining isn't the only one who has to be worried. His filly sister is coming along for the ride for the first time... albeit, against her will.
And despite having fears of his own, Shining Armor knows that, for Twilight's sake... somepony has to be brave.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that. It kind of feels like the writers don't write many of the characters/relationships to their actual potentials (*cough Spike cough*) lately, such as when they seemed to have to include the entire Mane 6 in most of the episodes even though they could have done better in some cases to bounce separate pairings off one another.
As for their marriage... I agree on that, too. Pretty much the entire fandom seems to love their pairing, but the writers don't seem to put it in the spotlight enough.

Yeah... I can imagine why that would make you less afraid. I haven't had to go through anything like that before, but if I did, I'd probably not be too afraid of needles, either.
Also, glad to hear they managed to remedy the problem you had as a kid. Huzzah for modern science and those who practice it, that's for sure.

That's kind of a funny idea in and of itself, not gonna lie. I don't think it could be a sequel, though, considering that he probably isn't going to be so scared of shots like this when he grows up because of what happened in this story. It would have to be its own spinoff.

I actually like getting shots. Other than the few times a nurse repeatedly missed a vein, or jammed the needle into bone. It's rather enjoyable to me at least. Still a good fic. Definitely going to fav and upvote.

Heck I still "hate" needles.
But at the same time, having IV's on a semi-monthly, you kind of lose the fear of them

Can anypony tell me why I've been sewing for about 3 years, I never use a thimble and prick my finger a bazillion times, I've SAT on my needles once or twice, and I have to hold my breath when I get shots? Anypony?
I wonder if it's possible to warm the needles up to about the same temperature as the body, so you don't notice the coldness of the metal so much?
