So, here’s my attempt at a SI with a bit of a twist that others have done before. Go to Equestria, end up on the wrong side of the tracks, and have to deal with it. Enjoy!

Almost everypony has a soul mate, one they are destined to live with and love for all their days. They give their body, heart, and soul to each other. Rarely do soul mates ever change, but occasionally there is the twist of fate that happens.

During their escape from the crystal caverns, a lose rock manages to almost impale Twilight before Cadence pushes her out of the way and takes the blow. Seeing her foal sitter dying, Twilight uses all her magic to save Princess Cadence with a very dangerous spell. It is not without a consequence as she, unknowingly, gives her own life energy to Cadence, tearing up the soul bond between her brother and her foal sitter. Instead, it makes a new one: one between the two of them.

With Shining Armor’s own bond broken, it attaches itself to the closest being it can: Queen Chrysalis.

He guarded this city almost all of his life, which ended the same way his father's did - by sacrificing himself to protect everyone. Having said farewell to his beloved sister, he was about to move on, but not before splitting a fragment of his soul, creating another Soul Dew in the place of his father's destroyed one, so that part of him could continue to protect what mattered to him most: his sister, and the city. What he didn't know, however, was that this process could lead to... unexpected results.

Twilight Sparkle lived a relatively normal life, right? She now had friends, she had Spike, she even had her cosy little home in golden oaks library... everything was going brilliant for her. As she finally got a day off she received a letter from the Princess that she was summoned... alone. Strange as it may sound, Twilight hadn't been summoned alone in many years but when she arrives she is surprised to see both Princess' with worrisome expressions, so why was the Princess of Night there? read and find out!

First things first: this is a different universe from MLPverse so some things will inevitably alter, be warned I will not reply to those with questions as to why some canon facts are changed because thus I have warned you of this fact it will be changed. Thus ends my warning, have fun reading, Serra out.

When Twilight comes back from her week long visit to her brother's house, she finds out that everything has changed. Canterlot High is babbling about some magic girl from another world, but Twilight knows better. There's no such thing as magic, or portals into other worlds.

Right?

EDIT: Wow. Never expected the feature. And by the way, thank you for anyone who commented with a consructive criticism. I'll be reading as many as I can and keeping them all in mind for the future chapters as well as going back to edit the past ones periodically. Enjoy the story!

EDIT 2: Went into the first chapter and tried to fix up the 'Twilight did X' issue that many people commented on. (Thank you to those who did.) Hopefully it is a bit more readable now.

EDIT 3: After fan feedback on a massive error I made where Princess Cadence was an out of control lunatic, I rewrote the Twilight meets Twilight scene so that it flows better and actually stays in character. Thank you for anyone who made a comment about this, I am listening to your feedback and writing my future chapters accordingly. (If there are any more of these, I'm going to keep these in a changelog in a blog post.)

How will the events play out with all of Equestria, including the elements of harmony, knowing she's a princess? Well, only one way to find out every pony. I do not own any lines or characters from My Little Pony TV series, only OC's I may throw in.

It has been three months since Rainbow Dash passed away into Elysium, joining Pinkie, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity. Meanwhile, Twilight's body has been frozen in time, unable to join her former friends. As she considers the meaning of loss, strange nightmares come over her, forcing her to turn to Luna for help. As they spend more time together, though, just one question arises- will either ever find any happiness that doesn't need to end?
