No one was prepared for the second Chernobyl disaster.

The first one was already bad enough, scaring and poisoning the land with no possibility of future habitation. The second one was infinitely worse. In an instant, the ancient Ukrainian forests and decaying Soviet apartment blocks were made into something wholly other. Local wildlife was twisted and mutated beyond recognition, none residing within the zone at the time survived. A new unseen force moved throughout the landscape, twisting reality on a whim. And still, there are those either brave, stupid, or desperate enough to travel into this forsaken place. Their ideologies vary greatly, some seek to understand the Zone. Other's seek to destroy it in order to protect the outside world. And other's seek simply to profit off of it.

Regardless of their goals, they all go by the same broad term.

Stalkers.

One such Stalker, a man by the name of Nikolai, suddenly finds himself thrown into an entirely different kind of zone. One that you cannot escape from, and with a completely different set of hazards than the one he is used to.

The Equestrian Wasteland.

A human appears in a remote batpony town. Well... he appears a good distance above the tree canopy outside of said town. Bruised and battered, he's rescued by three strange equine creatures.

What were these talking horses? How did he get here? Where exactly was he?

Better yet, who was he?

My first story, and I decided to make it HiE. Don't expect regular updates, if any at all. Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

1982, a summer just like any other, but a string of border conflicts and botched talks finally pushed the world to world war three, and after that-

Nuclear armageddon.

Nobody surrendered, but nobody kept fighting the war either.

After the end, scientists of all sides and factions concluded a new impending ice age that would wipe out all of humanity. But instead of digging bunkers and accepting the cruel fate, humankind started to work on one-way portals that would hopefully link them up to a habitable planet, and just before winter arrived in 1984, they did it.

One by one, refugees, soldiers covered in bandages and mud, and politicians that soldiers surround formed massive lines to enter the portal. The ones who managed to go across all had the same question-

"Is that a talking horse?"

Based on the HOI4 mod "Equestria at War" and its submod, "Escalation 84" by Euro-General. Timelines are based on season six but altered to fit more into the EaW universe. Special thanks to previously Jadenone and now Ariandel for editing.

You somehow someway find yourself into Equestia. The first day impressions are not to most welcoming. Turns out trying to be eaten by a Manticore is not a great way of saying this place is a great place! On top of that there is a slight language barrier between you and the denizens of this magical world you find yourself in. Well expect for a pegasus named Fluttershy who kinda only understands you being an alien animal after all! Well with the help of Twilight and her friends you get your chance living here peacefully.

Will this suck? Or will this be a grand ol' time in this land. Well there is only one way to find out!

Long ago, Kitsune came down from the heavens to save the creatures of this land from a demonic invasion. He is the angel to bring hope and justice to a land of darkness. He is the savior that all creatures in the land strive to be.

A nice Yakutian stallion visits the nice, friendly lands of Equestria for a diplomatic visit. Despite being toted around as a land of Friendship and happiness, all of the mares keep bothering and or attacking him? What gives? Did he do something wrong? Was it a culture thing?

Well, Snowball, even with a security detail assigned to him, he'll have to learn why. As for the mares of Equestria, they'll be taught a very valuable lesson... By Snowball of all ponies. Will he and his arctic coat survive Equestria? Who knows?

Story was almost cancelled, but then I realised that I still wanted to keep writing just a little further.
Just some forewarning though. This story is not for everyone. It is a slow-burn slice-of-life which lacks much serious threat. There is no big villain, and the storyline progresses quite slowly and you may get bored.
I am still new-ish to writing, so the writing quality (especially surrounding characters and dialogue) may leave something to be desired.

A story about someone with limited knowledge of the show, (basic facts on a small scale, no timeline stuff) wakes up as an alicorn (early-teen) in Canterlot. He is not happy about this fact.

No, they do not have OP alicorn powers. Yes, they are sort-of a foal, but not of baby age and this will not affect their personality or emotional-capacity in any way.

What was going to be a relaxing weekend camping turns into a nightmare as a human gets lost in an unknown forest. Also, his phone decides to stop working for some reason, so he can't use it to orient himself or even for an emergency call. Maybe it's not the phone's fault at all, because you all can imagine where he actually is now.

Will there be adventure? Maybe a little at the beginning, but mostly slice of life afterwards. Sudden unknown OP human abilities because reasons? Well, if you count ear scritches, maybe? Instant romance with all the equestrian heros? Probably not, gee...

There is language barrier to spice it up a little bit, so it will focus on cultural differences, how to even communicate with the locals and coping with all the weird things this world can casually throw at a regular, out of the mill, human.
