When the call to go to war in foreign lands has finally arisen, Shining Armor takes one last look at the pictures that adorn the hallway and staircase. Doing so reminds the unicorn of times of innocence, peace, and devotion to the greater good.

This is the story of a young pegasus stallion, or you specifically. After the passing of your mother, and your ever increasing distant father, your brother has never felt safe in the cloud home. Afraid of heights and normal life in Cloudsdale, you decide to abandon your former life to start a new one on the ground, in a town called Ponyville. While there you find a cute mare that runs the local post office who goes by the name of Ditzy Doo.

Octavia and her childhood friend Allegro con Brio have grown distant ever since he moved away when they were thirteen. Now, caught in a dream, she must relive a series of scattered memories of him through the helpless eyes of an observer cursed with the gift of hindsight.

Tagging it as a "romance" fic seems a little inaccurate, but fairly close

(READ ALL OF THIS) You have been given the Human's Guide to Life if Equestria. By some odd series of events you have come to this wonderful land of talking ponies. But a lot of you can't just jump into it without a little knowledge of your new home. Also you haven't been given this book, more like you have been forced to read every last word by Princess Celestia herself. But this is not a normal guide, no. This is a story, a story about you! Back home from "The Sandbox", one soldier tries to rebuild and restart his life. Though broken and depressed from battle, he is unsure about his place in life. Still living inside the bottle, he discovers MLP:FiM, which gives him hope and motivation to carry on. But his trip to the Central Library one day is what seals the fate of this soldier's future.
