chrumsum

the wankstain formerly known as Chromosome

T

My name is Canvas. I remember because I wrote it in the corner of the white box. It takes twelve steps to get from the cot to the wall. And the lights hurt my eyes.

(Note: The story isn't in color because I decided to try this without the gimmick! But I still recommend reading the GDocs version.)

I predict Chromosome will quit around November 2012.

Thanks so much for posting this up on here. I've always wanted to read it and Google docs hate me :pinkiesad2:

I read this on EQD! I translated it into human form and showed it to my teacher - she loved it!

I was wondering when you'd show up and place this masterpiece in here. :raritywink:

Just a suggestion: You could always "paint" the words here on FiMFiction and tell the users that they're supposed to read it whilst using the Dark background feature FiMFiction provides. That way, the story's magic wouldn't be lost.
(You know... that black box when you're reading stories... the one that allows you to change font sizes and styles. The background selection is over there).

I remember reading this when it was on EQD. Jesus but it's great.

Don't really have much else to say, other than I gave it a like and a favorite on principle, because damn if it doesn't deserve it.

Oh God, I loved this story! Thanks for putting on here! :pinkiehappy:

And yeah, the original Google docs one is better. The whole usage of colours was amazing

Hope she doesn't read much pony fic, for your sake! :rainbowkiss:

I was indeed considering that option, but then I passed it in favor of throwing this out there in all its barebone nudity. Just to see how it fares without the color gimmick.

I read this a while back on Equestria Daily and I loved it! It's a great story and it really makes you think. Thanks for posting it on here.

This story is freaking amazing. one of my favorites by far. Lots of thanks from me for uploading it here.

Hurray! It would be so much easier to read over here.

Needs more colors! If you haven't read it and are reading the comments for some reason, I would suggest the Google Docs version. Usually, there isn't much difference, but this one adds a lot. Like colors. But yeah, this story was great. I wish I could write this well. I'm simply green with envy

I love this its so..... great!

I remember reading this on EqD, and a friggin' love it. It's so powerful and deep. It's just magnificent. :moustache: I wish I had more words to describe it.

I really enjoyed this one EQD, and Ilm glad I could favorite it here.

"Then I look up at the branches of the tree. And I smile."

"One is thicker than the rest. Mightier."

"Yes."

"I think I’ll look good there."

"I pick up my brush."

Oh god. What does it mean. Please don't tell me it means what I think it means.

I have no idea.

This is one of the best fanfics I have ever read and it deserves all the attention it gets.

But the formatting on google docs is what really makes it shine, gives it that extra polish that pushes it above and beyond.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, it's still a fantastic work. The color formatting just made it really stand out.

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean but I love it anyways! :pinkiesad2:

Its rated for everyone, so I beleive he means he's going to paint himself lying on the branch asleep or something similar, although what you're thinking would take this story to a whole new deep.

Oh, hey, it's White Box! I love this story! Probably the first fic that I saw and randomly decided "You know what, I'm going to read this." I didn't actually read pony fiction until then. So... thanks, I guess x)

I think it still works well without the colour. I need to write a proper review at some point.

Yep, it's still awesome.

Not nearly as impactful without the formatting, but that's what Google Docs is for.

Oh god why is this so sad.

This story made me cry.
AND IT IS VERY HARD TO DO THAT.

AHHHHHHH
This is awesome. I wanna reread it and write a literary criticism!.... maybe this weekend

Works well without coloring the words, absolutely no need to worry about.

OMG, I loved this story on EQD, sooo glad it's here as well, so much easier to keep track of good stories on here.

I was actually surprised how much I liked this, since I usually avoid stories about OC characters, but this was fabulously written and portrayed. I can't wait to see what's next up for you :pinkiehappy:

I cried. I cried a resevoir of tears whilst reading this. How can you write something this sad :pinkiesad2:

Wow... What an excellent read!! I'm amazed!
Just a quick question though, did you draw any inspiration from The Giver by Lois Lowry for this story?

The concept was amazing, but I've read it before...
I can't remember where though...

I'm afraid to say "The Giver", but maybe it's "The Giver" combined with another tale. Otherwise, very nice story. I do feel like some of the colors made Canvas feel the wrong way (at least to me) because as you know, the meaning of colors are totally dependent on the opinion of the person. So I guess it's just me. But seriously, this story is very well executed, of course, but the randomly powerful talents of the ponies just comes out of nowhere. I mean, I could tell Canvas would be a painter because of his interest with colors, but the other ponies' talents are just kinda named. Of course, for the purposes of the story it was the best way to do it I guess.

Anywho, it was a very, very well-written story. I feel as though if bronies were to humanize their stories (for the sake of getting non-bronies to read it), we would be assimilating a lot more people. I'd also like to be able to convince my non-brony friends to read stories like these, but they refuse to cause of the ponies. It's a shame.

Yes! It's about time I saw this story on Fimfic. I always liked this story, and some elements are present in my own work. Hope to see more from you

This is the first anything in a long time that seriously made me step the fuck back and think over what I was doing with my life.

Well done.

Very fucking well done.

I'm amazed. I didn't want to comment because I couldn't think of anything to really say, but here I am. This just left me with a kind of spark -- something in my mind is trying to click together now. Hopefully I can figure it out. I know it sounds strange, but it's true. Thanks.

And, just as a side note, I believe you can write in colors on this website. I saw the Google Documents version. Maybe this version could benefit somehow from the color changes?

Without a doubt one of the best fanfics ever written.
I have been waiting for the day this went up on fimfiction.

Read this on EqD already. I can't even express my reaction to how wonderful this was with words or reaction images, and I have a fuckhuge reaction folder. I give this 100 out of 10 moustaches.

I remember writing a blog directing people to this story when it was first posted on EqD.

Hopefully Chrome won't be pissed at me for writting this.

Anywho, If you read his other stories you'll notice that those same characters make cameos. Sometimes important ones. Basically it's his method of tying together all of his work.

 It's all in good fun.

all good then!... or is it than... Too much steam, I'm getting foggy.

This is probably the most thoughtful and inspirational fanfic in the entirety of the fandom. It is magnificent. and the googledocs format with the altered colors really completes the story. If not for being afraid to show a pony fanfic to my English teacher, I would show it to her in a heartbeat because this is wonderful.

I very much enjoyed this. Normally I pass by sadfics, but this will make me think twice about it.

I miss the color coating of the words, it added a unique mix to the whole thing.

This was some of the most dynamic and powerful writing I've seen on this site. Not a lot of people can do what you can, my friend. Keep writing, I think you have many more stories to tell.

I remember reading on EqD.

Excellent story. So much emotion and drama packed into it. Adds a lot of diversity to ponyfics

holy mother of celestia, I was only reading this on april the 9th on google docs :3 great that you uploaded it here, masterpiece, also, I read off-key the day before that

Have read it before, but I'm gonna fave it anyways. I love this story!

Ah so this trippy story is on here now too. Good stuff. I may not love it but it is more interesting than a lot of fics these days.
