*This is a sequel to my earlier story, The Winds of Change. The prequel's not as well written in the beginning, but at least give it a chance. Look at the rating if you're unsure.*
As the griffin war continues, Dash and Jason are thrust back into a conflict they aren't too keen on continuing. But with the griffin threats and the re-emergence of coveted soul magic looming on the horizon, will they be able to revitalize the war effort and win the war with the same efficiency and skill as in the liberation of Canterlot? With Team Green Bean together again and the aid of new allies, this almost seems like a task they can pull off. That is, if things go to plan.

The more I write this, the more I think that I went a little too far. Coming up with more ideas is going to be tough.

If you didn't like the prequel, this is waaaaay better. Just look at the rating. You should probably still read the prequel however, because this story makes absolutely no sense without it. This one's well written from the beginning though, so people should have much less of a beef with it. The prequel only got good about a quarter of the way through, before I improved at writing.

Alex Cooper was once a pretty average human teenager at the age of sixteen. He lived as an orphan for most of his life with only his older brother and twin sister to keep him company. After his sister mysteriously disappears, he goes into a depression. One night, before going to bed, he wishes that he could be somewhere where he could be a hero instead of an orphan loser. When he wakes up he finds he is in a place he does not recognize. He soon finds out that he is in a land known as Equestria, and he meets the main six. Is this the place he had wished for? Only time will tell.

In a bid to gain popularity and show off her power, Trixie Lulamoon has unleashed the power of the Chaos Grimoire. As a result, she summoned Balrog, a demon from another realm. With a powerful creature at her disposal, she had managed to corrupt most of Equestria and started a blood sport to maintain her place. Even the bearers of the Elements of Harmony can do little more than try to control the damage Balrog's corruption is causing.

Three years later, Lyra Heartstrings has fallen into debt, and was forced to sign up for the tournament to raise money. Of all things, she summons a human from Athelina, the same realm as Balrog. Although brought into Equestria against his will, Miles Skylark swears his loyalty to Lyra, and with the help of Twilight Sparkle, takes a stand against Trixie and Balrog.

Few truly know what lies behind the impenetrable doors Cerberus guards. Some say that it is a pit, infinite in it's depth and darkness, from which there is no return. Other claim it to be a hellish plain, filled with fire and pain and suffering, to punish the demons for their sins.

All of them are wrong.

Tartarus is small. An inescapable cell for a single prisoner. But the tales about it's purpose are not false.

For this captive human holds the key to unleashing upon Equestria forces which have not been seen for centuries, forces which predate Equestria by many an age.

And soon, he shall be free.

The Battle of the Blanks is over, the Blood Hooves are no more. The curse has been lifted and Equestria is safe once more. Or is it? Konrad Ford has survived the battle but is now the "Last Human" in Equestria. As the ponies have mistakenly thought he perished, he shows up once more, attracting more than just the attention of the ponies. Soon everypony will want answers about Humanity's past and knowledge, all expecting Konrad to tell them the great secrets of Humanity, a lot of which he'll have to lie through his teeth.

With all the attention on him, isolation from his home, and more renegade approach than what ponies would consider acceptable, will he integrate successfully into Equestrian society? Will he continue to win the heart of Luna or another mare, Humanity's biggest fan...Lyra. Or will he fall to chaotic influence of Discord and forget the lessons of the show he loves so much?

The aftermath may prove to be a great beginning for Equestria or perhaps it's demise.
