Octavia and Harmonia Philharmonica were on their way to Manehattan, ready to fulfill their duty as granddaughters and visit Nana. Vinyl Scratch and her brother Long Play were traveling back home from a concert in Canterlot, the first that Vinyl had ever attended. Pure serendipity facilitated these pairs' first meeting.

When a mishap occurs with Celestia's bathroom scale, an ancient protocol that may just doom Equestria is set into motion. With the entire palace staff now conspiring against her, the sun goddess must not only contend mountains of paper work, dancing celery sticks, and steroid pumped stallions, but a sister who will take this chance to torture Celestia any way she can as payback for her banishment. When she goes to investigate, she discovers a world of music she never imagined from the turntables of Vinyl Scratch. She takes a chance and follows the DJ back to her home in Ponyville, and begins a journey full of music, love, laughs, some tears (maybe?), and... an evil plot!? What?

Silence is golden. Creativity depends on quiet time to think and focus the mind toward a greater goal. Oh...and music composition is damned difficult when there are wubs shaking your house. Asking nicely never seems to get her anywhere, so Octavia takes matters into her own hooves.

Sadly, this is only the first step in a great game of chess, and the resulting prank war proceeds to break all rules of conflict in an effort to save face and earn payback. There are no limits, no boundaries, and no song or solo too sacred to interrupt -- because silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.
